Robert Howlett at The Appraisal Station is truly a master of his craft! I appreciated his timely arrival, his thoroughness of the property inspection including many detailed photos, and the inclusion of multiple comps from the area to determine a reasonably accurate property value. His appraisal also arrived in a timely manner after the initial inspection and his services were very reasonably priced. I will definitely be using him again!! read more

What started as a seemingly reasonable quote quickly turned into one of the most frustrating vendor experiences I've had in this industry. From start to finish, this company checked every box for how NOT to run a professional appraisal service. First, the delays. Getting the initial report took far longer than quoted with no proactive updates, no heads up, just radio silence until we had to chase them down ourselves. In a business where timelines directly impact transactions, that kind of lag is unacceptable. Then came the real surprise. When we requested an ARV addendum, a standard ask in investment real estate, suddenly the "reasonably priced" company we thought we hired disappeared. What followed was nothing short of price gouging. For what should be a straightforward addition to an already-completed report, we were hit with a fee that was completely out of line with industry norms. No justification, no transparency, just a number that felt more like a penalty than a service charge. And through all of it? Communication was terrible. Responses were slow, vague, and at times non-existent. We were left guessing at every stage of the process. In the end, we didn't receive any due courtesy. A good appraisal company understands that their clients operate under deadlines with real financial consequences. This one clearly does not. Between the delays, the poor communication, and the opportunistic fees, I cannot recommend them under any circumstances. There are too many competent, professional appraisers out there to waste your time and money here. read more

I would suggest anybody to stay away with this company. their charge was the highest amount my other three, and Robert was very unprofessional, he came inside my house with NO FACE MASK on during COVID19, not respect home owner and others, left his dirty shoes on and foot print on my carpet everywhere. the most important was he under estimate my house by $250,00 comparing with others. Homeowners who wants to refinance, you should stay away!!! read more

Awesome to work with!! Very professional and gets appraisals done in a timely manner.

Excellent appraiser. Got our appraisal done very fast. Normally I don't expect a response from anyone in real estate and if I do get one it is very delayed... but when I emailed him about a question he got back to me within the hour. He did not have to do that. I will use him in the future for sure! read more

Robert held a seminar for my office this morning and put on a very informative lecture and question and answer session! He knows his stuff and will be a valuable resource to me, my team and our clients as we refer to him for advice on all things related to residential real estate appraisals....especially luxury homes which can be a challenge to properly value. So happy to have met him and added him to our list of professional advisors! Highly recommended!!! read more

Robert has been on our companies preferred list of appraiser's going on 5 years now. He has an uncanny way of explaining his position because of his extensive knowledge in his profession. When it comes to appraisals, you need someone that is a master at their craft and is up to date with the rules and regulations, and this guy knows his stuff. Robert is easy to talk to, friendly and most of all honest. His reports are always on time and he doesn't play games trying to upcharge you. All the loan officers on my team love him! He is one of the best appraiser's I've encountered in my 16 years in the mortgage industry. Robert's services are a solid 5 1/2 stars!!! read more

Been a while since this happened. For someone that has worked in the business for a long time, Robert does have an adequate background of neighborhoods in which he services. I agree with Tony L, a previous commenter, that he does use inadequate comparisons and does not really know the California market. 1 Day Home Appraisal did a much better job during their visit and was able to correctly assess the current competition. read more

Robert is a standup appraiser. Its pretty clear to see as soon as you visit his website that he is as legitimate as they come. You order the type of appraisal you need and get charged his predetermined price for the type of appraisal you need. This leaves a digital record of the transaction. You pay the fee up front and there is no doubt you will get your report by the deadline you need. Other appraisers have given me one price over the phone but gave me a different price once the address was given. Due to the acreage of the property and the neighborhood, others often raised their prices. Robert was professional and punctual. He had all the tools needed to get the request completed with full report. He is Appraiser residential licensed so he is not a trainee or merely a entry level appraiser. He knew all the public record data bases to get me the report I needed by my deadline. I'm going to recommend other clients to him in the future. Honest and fast working. You will only get professional quality appraisal with the Appraisal Station read more

I ordered an appraisal online and got a response right away. He showed up and took all his measurements quickly with his portable equipment. He asked me a few questions and took some pictures. I got my report 2 days later as I needed one quickly. I'm so glad I found Robert and the Appraisal Station. He is AR licensed as mentioned in another post which is important bc you may not want an entry level appraiser depending on your needs. read more
