The work I got done was not the greatest. I have a large gap between the two teeth that were "fixed". I now need a flossing tool after every meal or have annoying pressure and food stuck between my teeth. read more

Unfortunately my experience with this dentist was a poor one. I went to him on a good review. I recently relocated to the area and i I needed a filling fixed. After paying for an initial exam which included x-rays I was told I had several cavities. I agreed to have them filled and was given a treatment plan with a price. Once in my mouth he discovered several more cavities. I found this odd. Since we went over my treatment plan prior to my appointments. After having them filled I walked out of the office questioning this. He changed the treatment plan twice while in my mouth and my bill doubled. I've never experienced this in my 40 years of going to a dentist. read more

A fantastic dentist with a friendly and capable staff! Dr. Basora is the best dentist I've had (excepting maybe my very first dentist as a child). The ladies in his office are always super sweet and happy. The doctor has a comforting demeanor. Tools and techniques are state-of-the-art. The stained glass and green plants make the office cheerful. I love to go to the dentist! Dr. Basora and his staff are amazing. He is very gentle and has a great and kind manner when speaking to you. His office staff is just as nice and friendly. I was working as a contract worker in Reno and did not have a dentist in the area. A co-worker recommended Dr.Basora for a painful tooth that needed an extraction. He was able to get me in as a new patient very fast and was able to extract the tooth very quickly and painlessly. He explained the entire procedure to me and what could happen and took his time without rushing me to see the next patient. Dr. Basora called me at home that night to see how I was doing. (Really in this day and age to have this happen, WOW). In addition, he gave me his cell phone number in case I needed to contact him after hours if my condtion worsened. I ended up with a "dry socket", which is when a blood clot does not form over the extraction site (not due to the extraction procedure). When this happens you have to have it packed every day until it heals. Dr. Basora met me at his office every day including his day off (office was closed) and weekends (both days) to pack this extraction site to ensure that this healed properly. I had it packed for six days in a row. Dr. Basora went above and beyond to assist me in getting the dry socket closed up. I recommend him to anyone who is new to this area. I have since moved to Reno and he is my dentist. I will not go to anyone else! To address the remarks by D.G. Xrays always need to be done to see where and how much the tooth is damaged or if the ones on the side of it are affected as well. One set of xrays is taken to save money in case you have further work done. Sometimes, you cannot have a tooth pulled immediately (the same day) because the inflammation has to go down before it can be pulled and you will have to come back the next day. I know this because I have had other teeth pulled by other dentists. You were only charged for the services he provided to you and are responsible for any charges that your insurance does not pay, this is a normal and standard billing practice for most doctors and dentists. If your insurance didn't pay maybe you should get better insurance this is no fault of the dentist. read more

Something that could of been scary and expensive turned out to be an amazing experience. My husband began to have some tooth and gum pain last night, I called my normal dentist (Dr. Eric dean who is also absolutely wonderful) first thing when the opened to see if there was a way they could fit him in. They were booked solid unfortunately. I fearfully got online and looked at providers through my insurance and there were only a few dentists that were not affiliated with corporations like "absolute dental" (I would never go to one of those places). I came across Dr. Basora's name a quickly went to my trusted yelp to see his reviews. I was so happy to see so many patients have great experiences with him and were not provided with unneeded work and or outrageous prices. I called there office at 10am and that since he was having pain and was urgent they would squeeze him in and see us at 330 same day (what a wonderful surprise). The office has a great location with easy access, clean, wonderful and friendly staff. Dr. Basora saw us right on time. He noted that hubby had an infected gum but that infection was not coming from tooth. Hubby got script for antibiotics and in less than 30 minutes we were in and out from start to finish. He recommended cleaning and X-rays soon since it has been a few years since hubby has been to dentist. We have an another appointment for that in a few weeks. Dr. Thomas Basora of Sparks Family Dentistry, is by far the absolute best dentist in the Reno/Sparks area! I know because I unfortunately have had a lot of dental experience (poor teeth genes). Dr. Basora is friendly, down-to-earth, caring, thoughtful, conscientious, highly skilled and insists on giving the me the kind of treatment that is as close to perfection as is humanly possible! He is truly amazing! I never, ever worry about anything painful or unnecessary being recommended or performed on me because Dr. Basora is very honest and has the utmost integrity. He is very conscientious about all treatment being pain-free and it always has been for me. It took me years to find such a wonderful dentist and I'm so grateful and happy that I finally have. I highly recommend Dr. Basora to anyone who needs a kind and caring dentist with superb integrity! I recently started seeing Dr. Basora after not going to the dentist for several years. Over the past decade I have been told by dentists that the work I needed on my teeth would cost me upwards of 10k-15k. This deterred me from seeking dental treatment because I wasn't able to take on that kind of cost. Earlier this year my teeth began giving me so much trouble I had no other choice but to seek out a dentist. I'm so glad I found Dr. Basora because not only has he been more than fair to me while paying out of pocket, he has always made me feel comfortable while in his chair. I've been seeing Dr. Basora pretty much my entire life, Since I lived in Portola then moved here in 2002. He's always gentle with everything and makes sure that you are comfortable and relaxed to anything that he needs to do. If you are concerned about anything let him know he'll talk you through the best options, but won't force any options that he would recommend unless it's critical. The receptionist is friendly and works hard to get you in even if there aren't any openings,she will call if there has been a cancellation.
