The practice is located in a small business shopping center. Bev and the front office team do a great job with check-in and out, insurance, etc., and make the process efficient and seamless. Dr.York, the hygienist, and the rest of the dental team are very pleasant and make the ordeal of a dental visit as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend it.

This is a long one... August 19th - Went in for a cleaning…read more After extensive x-rays, I needed 2 crowns. OK. They drilled and did whatever dentists do. They took molds & more X-rays. Set an appointment to have crowns installed. Received a call a few days later & was told that a root canal was now necessary. I asked how & why. The dentist told me that she just looked at the X-rays... I said, why 3 days later, to which I didn't receive a sufficient answer. Well, let's get the root canal scheduled. Referred me to Champagne Dental who had no idea who I was. Scheduled procedure and got a call the next day asking if I was going to schedule... what? Went to another Dr and got my root canal that evening - August 25th - Well done! Had an appointment scheduled - September 2 - to have the crowns installed and the told me that it needed to be changed due to the unavailability of the dentist - maternity leave - of course no one said anything to me when I scheduled with them. So now they have given me over to a new dentist to do the crowns. The new dentist is my dentist's husband! September 2 - Well, the technician assigned to assist damaged a tooth while removing a temporary crown! So get one put on and have to reschedule for the second crown... Now it's 2 days before my appointment - September 16 - for my final crown, only to receive a message that the dentist (husband) will not be available because of his wife's maternity leave. I received a text telling me that my new crown appointment is scheduled for September 22... After the tech made an error, the dentist reassured me that there would not be an office visit charge... How Nice! It's 43 miles one way from my home to the office, so 86 miles round trip. I get 13 mpg = 6.62 gallons per trip @ $7.19 / gallon = $51.57 per visit. Hardly makes sense to keep seeing this practice. This might continue because they're not finished yet!

This period includes Dr. Thomas and recently, the transition to Dr. Vong and Dr. Avendano. Bruna has been my routine hygienist and her technical skills are brilliant, top-notch. In particular, her ability to sonically clean and to measure my receding gums with the absolute minimum of discomfort speaks to her fabulous technique. In a joking fashion, sometimes I think she's just saying the numbers because there is no sensation while probing the gum line. Additionally, I want to mention Amber and Jada who filled-in for Bruna during a recent absence and they too, demonstrated a high level of technical skill and competence. More recently, I needed updates to 6 existing fillings and had been a little reluctant to have this work completed. Dr. Avendano and his assistant Crystal were "beyond my expectations". As a team, they were fast, efficient, and treated me in a manner that ensured I was comfortable before and during the procedure. Most impressive to me was Dr. A's ability to deliver anesthesia by needle with NO sensation of a needle prick. I was aware that he was working in my mouth to prepare for the procedure and then, "poof", the area was numb. No jab, no pin prick, no burning. His technique is incredible and I remained comfortable for the entire procedure. The Smile Generation branded MyChart patient portal was excellent for providing the patient care notes. At my other dentist, that part has always been a black box, because they are on a different practice management system that doesn't have a patient portal. Dr DePrado determined I needed a new crown to replace my very old compromised crown. I agreed. She asked Brandon to review my payment costs as my dental insurance does not cover replacement crowns. I was happy with the negotiated price. To my surprise, the replacement crown was completed and set in place within 2 hours. So very happy. The patient care I received from Dr DePrado, Mea, and Brandon was exceptional and outstanding. They are an asset to this dental group and I will continue patronizing them because of this outstanding one on one patient care. I will spread the word about Sparks Modern Dentistry. Dr. Kim genuinely cares about your teeth, the well being of your health. She asks if I have any questions and if she's doing something and I'm not familiar with it she will explain with no problem. I love that they see kids also so it's so convenient that I can bring my kids here. It's a very professional looking facility, so you wouldn't know if they see children. I am still hoping that maybe they will bring some kind of kids toy or something that lets other patients know that they see kids. Although, if the majority of their patients are adults then I understand. Overall, I enjoy coming here. It's convenient and they are open till 8pm so you can come after work. Very accommodating!

I had an upcoming appointment that I asked to reschedule thinking it might be a few weeks, maybe a month out but was told the next appointment is in May 2027? It never used to take that long so after many years of going to Sage Dental, it's time to move on as they are no longer practical. Has anyone else has issues like this?
