I don't want to yap about myself, especially when other people's hands are in my mouth, providing a service! Sparks Modern Dentistry is on Epic's electronic medical record, and I loved that I could see the images and the information on the screen. The Smile Generation branded MyChart patient portal was excellent for providing the patient care notes. At my other dentist, that part has always been a black box, because they are on a different practice management system that doesn't have a patient portal. Dr DePrado determined I needed a new crown to replace my very old compromised crown. I agreed. She asked Brandon to review my payment costs as my dental insurance does not cover replacement crowns. I was happy with the negotiated price. To my surprise, the replacement crown was completed and set in place within 2 hours. So very happy. The patient care I received from Dr DePrado, Mea, and Brandon was exceptional and outstanding. They are an asset to this dental group and I will continue patronizing them because of this outstanding one on one patient care. I will spread the word about Sparks Modern Dentistry. I only have 10 teeth & am pleased with the personal attention & thoroughness of Misty's expertise. I look forward to my next scheduled appointment with Misty on 24 May 2019. ================================================ On 6 Feb 2017 I arrived at the appointed time & had a tooth extracted, to my satisfaction. 17 Mar 2018, a Saturday morning, I arrived unannounced, no appointment, & had been in pain since Tuesday. The staff readily got me into X-Ray dept for the preliminary. Once seated in the dental chair, a young woman came in & introduced herself as Dr. Melanie Kim. First thing I noticed is she has small hands which is what I want for my child-size mouth. I'm 73 years old & know my teeth are nearing the end of the road. I have no front teeth just a few molars for chewing, all of which are in poor condition. I reasonably expect all my teeth will need to be extracted within the next 2 years, at most all of which I explained to Dr. Kim who listened attentively. I further explained I'd been in pain since Tuesday & presently had so much pain on the upper left side molars I was afraid my head wouldn't fall off. Additionally, the gums of my 3 molars on the left side were tender to the touch. She asked for her Dental Assistant to take Xrays of the upper two molars on the left side. After examining the teeth & looking at the Xrays, Dr. Kim agreed that trying to "save any teeth" is not a good option. Dr. Kim quickly agreed that one, perhaps both upper molars on the left side may need to be extracted & that the Xrays appear to show an infection inbetween both teeth. Only one tooth was sensitive to my tongue & Dr. Kim's instruments. Her prognosis was that the one tooth definitely needed to be extracted, so I was anethesised & readied for the extraction. I was pleased that Dr. Kim appeared to know what she was doing, no hesitation, no apprehension, she dug right in. I requested & was given a 2nd shot of novacane. Dr. Kim extracted the tooth in what seemed to me to be a relatively short time. She confirmed that there was an infection between the two teeth AFTER the one tooth had been extracted, but that it appeared the other tooth was unaffected by the infection. I wasn't given any pain prescription. Dr. Kim told me to alternated between Extra Strength Tylenol & Ibuprofen every 4-6 hours, however, I didn't need that much medication. For the first time since Tuesday, I went to bed sedated & slept soundly. When I awoke Sunday morning my mouth & teeth were back to normal, no pain, no sedation, no tender gums around the 3 molars in my jaw on the left side. I have an appointment on Friday to see Dr. Melanie Kim whom I consider extremely well qualified whose expertise I highly value. At that time we'll discuss options for further treatment. I was lucky to draw Dr. Kim on my unscheduled, EMERGENCY walk-in. I've read all the reviews for Spanish Springs Modern Dentistry. I noticed Dr. Kim has several favorable reviews dating back to 2015, which means she has been there for 3+ years, which means she is doing something RIGHT for her employer & her patients. At no time did Dr. Kim try to sell me on more expensive treatments. Shame on me for not including the names of all other "Staff" who were all courteous, helpful, & professional. I cop a plea of being in pain. I will update this review after my upcoming Friday appointment with Dr. Melanie Kim.

My first visit included xrays, pictures, and a comprehensive dental plan. I knew what to expect and what the cost would be. Everyone was SO NICE. No judgment, no sarcasm, no rudeness. Just a nice group of people that thank you for choosing them and then do everything they can to make you comfortable. I have now been to Pyramid Family Dental four times and it's safe to say that their kindness and professionalism isn't a fluke. They are just awesome! What really solidified the 5 stars is what I DON'T hear them do. Let me explain - there are so many establishments that don't realize that their patrons can hear what is happening at the desk. So every comment or remark they may utter about a customer can many times be heard by a separate customer. While in one of the rooms, I can hear almost everything that the front desk staff is saying and I have never heard anything unbecoming. I get there, wait 45 minutes, only to be told oh, we madexa mistake. Its a $1000. No I'm not playing these games. I had dentists before. They could always tell me what it would cost. Never this well we aren't sure. You guys need to get your act together. Some us aren't rich. We can't just apply for credit or come up with an extra $500. I definitely won't be coming back. This period includes Dr. Thomas and recently, the transition to Dr. Vong and Dr. Avendano. Bruna has been my routine hygienist and her technical skills are brilliant, top-notch. In particular, her ability to sonically clean and to measure my receding gums with the absolute minimum of discomfort speaks to her fabulous technique. In a joking fashion, sometimes I think she's just saying the numbers because there is no sensation while probing the gum line. Additionally, I want to mention Amber and Jada who filled-in for Bruna during a recent absence and they too, demonstrated a high level of technical skill and competence. More recently, I needed updates to 6 existing fillings and had been a little reluctant to have this work completed. Dr. Avendano and his assistant Crystal were "beyond my expectations". As a team, they were fast, efficient, and treated me in a manner that ensured I was comfortable before and during the procedure. Most impressive to me was Dr. A's ability to deliver anesthesia by needle with NO sensation of a needle prick. I was aware that he was working in my mouth to prepare for the procedure and then, "poof", the area was numb. No jab, no pin prick, no burning. His technique is incredible and I remained comfortable for the entire procedure. Should you be facing some over-due dental work, or are simply in need of an excellent hygienist, I would confidently recommend the team at Vista Dental.

I am not sure.. button either case that is a lot of data to lose on a patient. I no longer trust going to this location even though I have been there for many years they seem to have gone through a transition of ownership as well, and that seems to be where everything went south. (tall order) The stock photos used is in this profile feels about how phony it feels to be in the office. My appointment was in the winter and their office does not have central heating. It was freezing! Upon registry i put in my paperwork that I was looking to get a second opinion on a diagnosis, and to make things faster, my previous dentist office forwarded xrays via email since I just did xrays... because the doctor works off his phone, no computers? just that room doesnt have one? It's the future man!.. I digress. "they weren't good enough" and we had to do them again... so, to make a long story mid, I didn't get the second opinionand had a poor experience waiting for my room for an hour and half past time, waiting in my room for an hour because "Doctor had an emergency", (freezing, the hygienist offered a blanket but I dunno...) just for my xrays to be inadequate for his equipment, doing those again... going in again for a second visit.... Only for the second visit to be a cleaning and no opinion... it's old-school. And however they want it My expectations are higher in today's day. Your money and TIME is better spent elsewhere.

There is a nice coffe station with the 'Krupp' style pods. Very enjoyable for a Dental office. The wait was less than 10 minutes and then brought back to a room. The girl that took me had to get a tooth impression and X-ray. She was also very nice. Once Dr. Labowe came in, the injections of numbing agents, and anxiety began. I can't help it (other than to take care of my teeth better?) Each time I visit, I start berating myself as to why I don't take better care of my oral hygiene. Why-o-why...Then there is the self-promise to do a better job. It's sort of like a New Years resolution...promises made but rarely kept...at least for me lol. Anyways, back to the review... After the injections were made, Dr. Labowe left me to allow the injections to do their job. I could feel the right side bottom lip sagging and drooling, but I refused to swallow the weird tasting stuff. The wait seemed forever, I looked at the clock and it was 11:45 am...been here for 45 minutes now. My thoughts (anxiety) turned to the fear that the wait was too long and I would require more injections..I really don't like visiting the Dentist if you couldn't tell yet lol. Dr.Labowe is very professional, good at his job, it's just me. There was a monitor in the upper corner with album covers and Classic rock playing. I was asked if I wanted to watch tv, but smartphones are a good time-passer (waste? Lol) not really into Ratt, Kiss or Aerosmith so next time I'll check to see if there are options. It wasn't bad though either. Due to all the adventurous things I have done, I've had a few caps, broken teeth, pulled teeth and even once, I had damage to the alveolar bone/socket that require surgery after it was bashed. After about 20 minutes of drilling, pushing, pulling, more injections...smells of burned enamel...they took some teeth impressions to have a temporary crown set. Then, back in 2 weeks for the real one. The only thing that kept this from 5 stars was the assistant, while making the temporary, was not sensitive to my lip hanging over my tooth and she smashed my lip into my tooth so many times. She needs to be more aware of that as it was unnecessary pain that could have been avoided. Patient/client are sensitive after all the needles and drilling. Over all a positive experience for having something you hate done.
