So much better than typical bread and butter I would also add that the main- mushroom risotto was not a risotto as it was pretty dry- id compare it to a pilaf. We spent the week in Blue Mountain and based on past experiences knew the prices of the restaurants at the Blue Mountain area was expensive. But because it was convenient we decided to book Tholos. We have been here pre- Covid and I remembered the restaurants food quality being great and decent size portion for the cost. Ambiance: Very modern, and clean. There was a lot of seating. Not sure it's the week we were there but the restaurant was super quiet. We were a able of 12 and was able to make reservations subject to a 18% gratuity charge for large parties. Service: No complaints our server was great. She answered all our questions and was super friendly. Food: The prices are ridiculously high and small portions. My brother in law had the swordfish and it was so small for $45! 3 of us got the souvlaki's and it wasn't even grilled the meat pieces tasted and looked like it was baked in the oven. It came with a tiny portion of rice and a few potatoes. The pasta was ok but so expensive, I would pass. Despite the plethora of options in Blue Mountain Village, Tholos still reigns supreme as the best restaurant. The dining experience is top tier in all 3 aspects (ambiance, cuisine, and service). The interior was incredibly well designed. From the elegant bar and its 2 story high shelving, the main level, the upstairs, the outdoor areas, and even the lighting, it's all exquisite. Live music and belly dancers occasionally perform to embody the Greek theme, as well. In the 10+ times I've dined here, the staff has always been attentive and professional. As for the food, the menu offers all of the Greek classics and does them all justice. My favorite dishes are the dip platter and the lamb souvlaki. It's hard to pass up consistency and excellence, and that's what you get here. Any time I visit Blue Mountain, I'm going to Tholos, no questions asked. read more

Delicious! I spent a few days at Blue Mountain so I had the chance to try the restaurants. I had to get the saganaki as an appetizer. The server brought it to our table, fired it up, and it was served with a side of bread, caramelized onions, and butter. The cheese was perfect! Next we had chicken souvlaki. This was one of my favourite meals at Blue Mountain! It was one of the more upscale places and as a result, a bit pricier too. They were partaking in a special prix fixe menu for Bluelicious where you could choose 2 courses from 3 categories (starters, mains, and desserts). After a day of adventuring, I just wanted savory food. I had the creamy mushroom soup and whole grilled branzino. The branzino was deboned so it was super easy to I eatm it was accompanied with the best couscous pearls. These were seasoned so well! I didn't leave a single pearl behind. The lighting of the restaurant was warm and cozy with lots of Mediterranean themed decor throughout. It was pretty lively because there was a conference going on but not rowdy. FOOD: We had come to this restaurant at around 8:30 pm on a Friday evening for dinner. I had settled on the Chicken Souvlaki Dinner ($26.00), with Potatoes & Roasted Vegetables, while my husband had settled on the Seafood Linguine Dinner ($30.00). First, we were given a basket of bread, along with butter and some caramelized onions. I really enjoyed the bread as it was soft on the inside, and crunchy on the outside, which is just the way I like it. I didn't though touch the caramelized onions as the smell was too strong for me. In terms of the meal itself, I found that the chicken was actually very moist, which is rare when cooking chicken. However, there were only four pieces of it, which weren't even that large. I was given a scoop of tzatziki sauce on the side but, it wasn't enough. I asked if I could have more but I was told that they would charge me, in which I said I would pass on the extra sauce. I was actually disappointed that I had to pay for a small bit of extra sauce, which I thought was a bit extreme. The potatoes were also delicious, and not dry, which is just the way I like them. However, they also were not big enough, and the roasted vegetables were even smaller, with only a few pieces of asparagus, and some carrots, which had the stems left on them. I found that for the price that I had paid, the amount of food that I was given was much too little. I could tell that the food was prepared in an excellent manner, with a lot of precision on making it look and taste good. However, it just didn't fill me up as much as I would have liked it to. ATMOSPHERE: I had thought by coming at a later time, it wouldn't be so busy at the restaurant. However, we weren't able to sit outside because it was all-booked, therefore, we were seated at a table near the window on the main level. I found this restaurant to be very dark (in terms of lighting), which made it difficult to really see what I was eating. I had to actually flash a light from my phone in order to make sure that the chicken was cooked-well. I also found that the tables were very close together, making it difficult to navigate around them if needed. It was very loud in the restaurant itself, and when the belly dancer came out on the patio, it was even louder, as everyone began cheering. I did like the décor though, which matched the Greek theme perfectly. SERVICE: We were served by a kind younger woman, whom made us feel comfortable from the first time we sat down, until we had finished our meals. She was knowledgeable with the menu, and asked us how we were doing as we were dining. She also came out with the food fairly quickly, and answered all of our questions with ease. I was definitely impressed with the great service at this restaurant! COST: 1 Chicken Souvlaki Dinner: $26.00 + 1 Seafood Linguine Dinner: $30.00: $56.00 + Tax = $63.28 WOULD YOU RETURN? Beautiful patio! Pots of basil and vines of veggies around the area. Regular menu is a little pricey but when we went they had cheaper offerings on the menu. The angus burger and fries were $10! An absolute delight in the heart of the Village. We arrived at the restaurant's doorstep at 4:45pm, on a rather warm but windy Saturday evening, only to realize that operations start at 5:00pm. So we killed the time by taking a stroll in and around the Village. By the time we'd done killing time, there was already a queue forming outside the restaurant and at 5:00pm sharp the wait was over. We were received very warmly by our host. I was especially amazed by the interior of the restaurant. The management has decorated it well giving the Greek feeling. Our server was very polite and was willing to help us with the menu, if we needed it. But we were very sure about what we wanted. To start, we ordered the Saganaki. Everything about this dish was fascinating. Our server brought the cheese in front of us and lit it up with fire to create a very tiny burst of fire to initiate the sizzling of the cheese. Believe me it's quite a spectacle. And boy it tasted goooood. I must warn, just the one Saganaki was pretty heavy for the two of us. Up next we ordered the Chicken Souvlaki with rice & roasted vegetables. We loved every bit of it. The veggies were roasted well and I think were sprinkled with Olive Oil & herbs. The chicken also tasted very good. Apart from that the restaurant has a pretty decent menu with a variety of salads. It also has a pretty good bar menu as well with a lot of wine options. We came to Collingwood for a company event & had dinner scheduled here for our group. We were situated on the first floor of the restaurant which felt a bit crowded for 40 people. Appetizers were served but it took some time for dinner to start. I'm not sure if that's because our people were having too much fun having cocktails or what! LOL. Anyway when we were finally seated, more appetizers came pretty quickly. Usually there's only one round of appetizers so I wasn't prepared for this. I got myself full on appetizers because I was so hungry as the dinner started late. It was fun to watch them make one of the appetizers which is basically a fried cheese dish. Can't remember what it's called. But they would pour some kind of liquor on top, light it on fire & say Opa! By the time our salads & mains came I was pretty stuffed. The portions are pretty large. The salad was a large bowl of salad that could've been a main! :) I chose the fish main entree & that was big too. Dessert was afterwards but I couldn't eat any dessert at that point. Once dinner started service was good. I think it was just a matter of herding people which is kind of like trying to herd cats. Anyway the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and most of my chicken pieces were undercooked/raw. I'm not a chef but I know how to cook, and I know what undercooked chicken looks like. Hadn't been in a few years. Use to be a regular especially during ski season. Did ownership. Change? Food was average prices were very high - not worth what you get now. Lamb shank was ok with potatoes however. No more tzatziki sauce for your lamb and potatoes. The homemade use to be great. The Mousaka was dried out did not seem fresh and not made to order ? Real disappointment overall as this place to use be " the place" when we were in the village. Lower grade food now - not terrible - just not nearly as good and unfortunate - now way over priced. Greek food in a nice setting, but very over priced. For blue mountain I rate it a four but if it was anywhere else, three stars. Free warm bread was nice. We got the chicken souvlaki and mousaka. The chicken souvlaki was bland and the portions ok. However the sides of tomato beans and asparagus were good. The mousaka was delicious but dry. Also service was very slow. Great place in Blue mountains resort !! Our fist time in the area and wasn't sure were to eat but some nice guys we met in the hotel directed us here and it was a great choice. The traditional salad (Horiatiki) we had was fantastic, I love Greek food especially the cheese and the block you get with this salad is large and really good. I also had the saganaki, they bring it out and flame it up for you right at your table. A nice touch, very entertaining. We enjoyed our meal so much that we ate here again the following night but I learned not to have the saganki with the salad because it is just too much cheese, it sat in my gut for hrs after. Lol well not the worst problem one could have. Beautiful decor, nice patio but not the best time of the yr for sitting outdoors when we were there so we stayed inside, great staff and excellent food, I enjoyed the beer on tap as well... I usually drink local craft wherever we are but I had to have a couple Granville Island Pale Ales on the second night! I had the fried cheese as an appetizer with my table. It is an absolute MUST TRY! They light the flame right in front of you. I also had the cocktail "red carpet" and it was delicious. We were there last week and l found Tholos on Yelp. We went there for our first dinner in blue mountains at around 5:30, and we didn't need to wait (Thursday evening). We ordered the dishes recommended by lovely yelpers: 3 dips (eggplant, hummus, and the spicy feta, I liked the spicy one. Hummus is not creamy (too dry) for me but I am no expert. I make creamer hummus. Flambé cheese tasted amazing with the complimentary bread (and pickled onions), especially they lighted up at the table; Octopus is must-try; Lamb shank tasted amazing! "Eggplant potato lasagna" was a little dry and salty but I like the idea and may try to replicate it at home. Kid's fries taste great, we didn't touch burger (too full). Service was good, nice environment, clean washroom. Will come back when we are in the neighbourhood again! read more

Haven't been here for a couple of years and left a little disappointed. Prices are what they are but first Greek restaurant that charged you extra for salad and pita when you order a souvlaki dinner. Presentation left a little to be desired. My chicken was very good, but one person in our party ordered lamb and it was undercooked. Sides were all okay. Was a little ticked off that they added gratuity to a party of 5. Thankfully my young daughter enjoys reviewing the bill or I would have double tipped. Disappointing visit. read more

WOW! Is Tholos ever so loud on a Friday night! That has to be a good sign right? We called around 3pm for reservations that night and we were told that they only have 6pm or 815 reservations. We took that 815pm seating and went about our night. We showed up at 8pm and were seated right away upstairs. This place was loud, like really loud but it made sense given the number of people crammed in there. Tholos was beautiful and their menu was relatively small for a greek restaurant. We both looked at the menu and decided we wanted to eat light since we had a big lunch earlier in the day. We ordered the dipping platter of tzatzaki (sour cream/yogurt/cucumber and garlic dip) , taramasalta(potato and fish roe), and kopanisti (spicy feta dip) as an appetizer and grilled octopus and Greek bruschetta as the mains. I have very high expectations for kopanisti as my brother in law can make a damn good one. THIS.WAS.GOOD! They didn't cheap out and use Canadian feta but rather real Greek feta (from the barrell). The tzatzaki wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. The taramasalta was better than average. This was served with a basket of warm pita bread and we thoroughly enjoyed the appetizer. About 20 minutes later my boss gets his grilled octopus. Since my plate hadn't arrived yet he offered me some and I was less than impressed. I found it dry and really flavorless. I don't think this ranks in the Top 10 places I've ever eaten grilled octopus. At this point I was annoyed that my food still hadn't arrived, I was tired, and just wanted to get in my bed. Just as I decided to cancel the order, since I was sure that the waitress had forgotten to even place the order, she showed up with my Greek bruschetta. Sadly, I told her I wanted to cancel the order since it took an unreasonable amount of time to get it. (Why would my main meal which consist of bread, tomatoes, cheese, and basil take 20 minutes more to make than a grilled octopus?). The waitress was a doll and just took the plate back. Overall, the food wasn't bad it just wasn't that great either. It was an average establishment but way overpriced for what you are getting but then again, you are dining at a resort so there is an added cost....I likely wouldn't go back if I found myself in that part of Ontario again. read more

Food was delicious and the staff very friendly and accommodating. A bit pricy but to be honest it is in line with everything else in the area. Even the Starbucks is more expensive than anywhere else. Only thing that was just off was the Flamed cheese was a bit over done on one side. But still everything else was very tasty and fresh. Kids meals were also great selection. Only issue was there was a lot of pepper for the burger and not good for a 1 year old but probably fine for anyone a bit older. Mom approved the task inside was great.
