Originally, Third Eye Comics (at the other end of the same plaza) had some games. Now, they have opened a whole shop dedicated to games of all kinds. You can even come and play your favorite game in the back of the shop. This is a pretty big selection and there is a game to appeal to every one at every age. The few times I have been here I have left with a massive headache. The music was way too loud. It might have been that it wasn't too crowded, but I seriously couldn't stand it. They have a handful of old video games, but the selection seems pretty limited. read more

Holy Schnikeys Batman! This place was pretty cool. Ok so I dont read comics, but I am someone who loves all things geek. I finally decided to check this palce out, after my friend had been talking about it for a long time and I was not disappointed. As soon as you walk in they greet you and immediately ask if there is anything they can help you with. They are super knowledgable as well, I truly felt dumb amongst their collective geeky genius. The store itself seems small on the outside, but once you walk in you see all the comic goodnes as well as a nice selection of collectibles. I loved looking at all the new stuff that was on display and was impressed on how clean and organized the pleace was. BONUS: Free comic when you check in there with Yelp! This is my favorite comics store in MD, and I go anytime I am even remotely near Annapolis. They always have my comic (and the back issues) have the best tabletop selection in the state, great toys, tons of memorabilia (both the affordable and the really expensive collectibles), anime that made my daughter swoon, collector editions and books, t-shirts, and.....EVERYTHING. If, on the SLIM off-chance you don't find it, they will a) look in their warehouse and bring it to you or b) order it for you. They are great at keeping in contact with their customers - from the 'hello' at the door, to twitter and tumblr, to great signing events. It's the best. Go! This place is outstanding. I made a special trip to Yelp just to tell you how great an experience I had here. I went in Sunday morning to pick up a graphic novel for my daughter. An employee greeted us at the door and asked us if there was anything he could help us with. We had found what we were looking for but he gave us a quick rundown of the store. The store is huge and has a great selection, but the best part if really the staff. The guy we spoke with knew the details of the novel my daughter had picked out and was able to let us know if it was OK for her. If you like comics, great service, a friendly atmosphere and a great place to browse, this store is the place for you. Awesome experience. We'll be going back. read more

I'm honestly floored at the level of service/friendliness/knowledge of the staff. They make a point to acknowledge and greet you as soon as you enter the door. One of the associates took 10 minutes to explain the ins and outs of manga to my 12 year old daughter, another made sure that any comic we bought was age appropriate for my 9 year old. Place is bustling with customers yet there was always someone there to answer a question. Retail businesses take note, this is how you run a shop, PERIOD. The selection here is really good. It is a big store and the staff is really nice and helpful. While I was there the owner (I think) helped a woman find replacements for about 6 comics that her new puppy destroyed to get home before her husband could find out! Very big shop! The people who work there are very friendly and I was able to also bump into someone who knew about Gundams pretty well. There is a large selection of whatever you are looking for. I was happy with the content in the store. No one really pushes you to buy something either. If you want to just browse that is okay! I've been here a dozen times now, every time the staff is always extremely kind and curtious. Although I mainly go for the gunpla, they have a really good selection of pretty much everything. If you have questions the staff are always willing to answer to the best of their abilities and I have never had a case where they just told me they didn't know and that was it. First, I have to say that I have never really collected comics, or even read many of them, but my husband and kids are die hard fans. We have tried many comic shops in the area, but the search for the perfect shop ended when we came to Third Eye. Steve greeted us at the door with a friendly smile and fantastic recommendations. Trish was eager to help me find a comic that didn't have superheroes that I would enjoy. We continue to follow their recommendations, and have yet to be disappointed. I moved out to the Annapolis area from Los Angeles about 9 months ago. When moving from such a large metropolitan area, the smaller Annapolis area can seem a little claustrophobic and boring in comparison. I have to say that Third Eye is one of the things that makes living here bearable. I wasn't much of a comic reader before I came out here. I appreciated them but I never actively sought them out (because most of the comic stores in LA were either dingy and dirty, or otherwise too far away to be worth the trip). When I first visited Third Eye with friends, I was blown away by not only the selection but also how friendly and knowledgeable the staff was. More than once I've received awesome recommendations for new series to read. Since my first visit I've spent...well probably way too much money there. However it feels good knowing that I'm supporting such an awesome local business. When I get back to LA in a few months, Third Eye will definitely be one of the few things that I will sorely miss here! read more

Awesome Shop! HUGE selection of Comics and Figures! Not a bunch of old stuff either. Third Eye Comics definitely knows what people are looking for :) The staff was very helpful and they seem to really enjoy there job. You'll also find some high end collectibles here. Hot Toys, Sideshow, and other various statues were located all over. They have a Third Eye Comics member card system(that is very modern)and they inform you of sales and release dates. I've spotted Third Eye Comics at some comic conventions and events but never visited the store until recently because I live farther away. I've been there twice recently. The clerk immediately came out from behind the register to see what he could do to help me in my quest to acquire a graphic novel that I'd only read part of half a decade earlier and had since wondered incessantly about. Had the good guys killed the bad guys in the end? I couldn't be sure. He took me right to the section of the store that contained said graphic novel (which I had been unable to find anywhere else) and filled me in on the layout of the store. Considering the availability of hard to find items, the courteous staff, the reward program, and my insatiable need to know if The Boys would get rid of the Superheroes or die trying, I'll be back. Also, I know nothing about comics except that sometimes people I know hand them to me and say "read this". If "The Boys" is not a graphic novel and is instead a "Comic Book" or some other such sundry please accept my profuse apologies. I will attempt to ingratiate myself by saying that I liked the villain "Arcade" in X-men and always liked the scenes in the war room or whatever that simulation was called because it was cool. This comic shop is amazing. Jammed to the gills with comics and collectibles, but sensibly laid out and plenty of room to meander through the aisles even when packed with customers. Their selection of comics, TPBs, action figures, etc is unparalleled. The staff is super-friendly and well-versed in all aspects of pop culture. I cannot get enough of this place. I went in looking for an out of print copy of 'X men Fatal Attractions'. Every time I go in, I am greeted with a great welcome making one feel at home. Torma approached me asked how everything was going, and if I needed any help. He succeeded where many have failed. In the mid 90's Magneto ripped out Wolverines adamantium in a major X men event titled, 'Fatal Attractions'. I have been looking for the trade paperback for some time, and hoped that maybe, MAYBE, it is available. The trade is currently out of print, however, Torma paused, and went to the back. Much to my grand surprise he comes out with the trade in his hands. That is why this place is awesome. Steve, Trish, Torma, all are excellent. I wish I could give it 10 stars. Steve always greets you when you come in and is eager to recommend new titles! Now that they have moved to their new location they also have a great selection of board games. They also keep boxes for clients so you can "subscribe" to a bunch of titles and come in to pick them up at your leisure instead of having to hunt them down on the shelves. read more

Not because we are friends or have any relationship other than customer and storekeeper, they are just that good at learning their customers likes and dislikes. When I walk in the door, they immediately let me know if there is a new issue of one of my faves. They are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable and I have stopped buying comics anywhere else. I've been collecting comic books for almost 50 years (gulp!) and this is by far the best store experience I have ever had. I've shopped for books from LA and SF to NYC and there is simply no comparison to Third Eye. The reason is customer service and knowledgeability. The second you walk in, you are greeted by all employees, it's like an episode of "Cheers", only in a comic book store! This is a direct result of Steve's(owner) policy of making sure every customer is greeted and taken good care of. I live in Alexandria, VA and I happily travel an hour each way to pick up my subscription box. I consider this the best store in the DMV area. If I ask Trish where a certain book might be, she RUNS to get it! Every employee is very friendly and knows all about all the vast amount of graphic novels, comic books, toys, figures, games and bacon flavored candy! I buy a lot of comics here, many of them based on Steve's excellent suggestions, stuff I would've never known about. Steve has this ability to know what's in my collection better than I do! I wish I lived closer to Third Eye because of the many writer/artist book signings the store gets. A huge number of fans show up to these, and I think Third Eye has gotten a great reputation in the industry for these and the number of new writers and artists that Steve and his team have helped introduce to customers. I went to a store near me in Virginia a while ago, and the guy at the counter never even looked up from the book he was reading the whole time I was in the store. I visited this store for the first time this past weekend and was very disappointed with my experience. The biggest issue for me with this store is that it's not a "comic shop" in the traditional sense. Specifically, there are no back issue boxes to search through for those books that are missing from your collection. This makes absolutely no sense to me. When I asked the employees why they had no back issues they explained that they don't make enough money off of them. Instead, this store focuses mainly on recent comics (three years worth) plus a lot of graphic novels and toys. As a 30+ year collector of comics who's always looking to fill holes, this store definitely isn't for me. However, if you're just looking for this week's new releases or some figurines, this may be your place. read more

Points for being social = huge! -*Graphic Novel Heaven!!*The store itself is incredible and you can tell there's a lot of TLC from the owners that go into it. My tastes tend to go towards graphic novels these days, and holy cow, they had the largest graphic novel section I've ever seen! Everything was in an easy to browse order too. -*Comics Comics Comics!*While I don't read as many monthly comics these days, I can say that their comic wall is immense, ranging from all the mainstream fare you'd expect to indie books that nobody cares. Again, all very easy to browse. -*Leave No Geek Behind!* - While the store's focus is definitely comics, they also had a very strong manga section, board games assortment, and even art supplies for you aspiring comic artists! Not to mention, all the toys and other junk I love to clutter my desk with. -*Friendly Staff Part II - Great Recommendations!* Remember how I said I was greeted warmly, and felt welcome right off the bat?
