We ordered a small deep dish pepperoni pizza, a large house salad and the Italian sandwich! The pizza was delicious. The crust was perfect and it was perfectly cheesy. The sandwich was beyond delicious. The bread was soft and fresh, the meat was tender and the giardiniera was so yummy! Served with au jus, which takes it to the next level! I would highly recommend! Excellent service! The Italian beef sandwich is amazing. Get it with motz added. The roll is soft and Chicago beef style. The dipping gravy is a good beef stock with a hint of Italian seasoning. This place has legit pizza. I went here with my parents last weekend and my mom and I weren't super hungry (in fact, I was recovering from a cold) so we got the 7 bean soup and my dad got the Windy City Deep Dish pizza. It was totally empty when we arrived but I think much of their business is carry-out. TBH the soup was pretty meh. The beans needed to be soaked longer. I would not order again. However, I would not hold this against the restaurant. People aren't coming here for the soups. They are coming for the pizza and the sandwiches and the pasta. I can attest that the pizza was BOMB. Be prepared to wait 30 mins while they make it. I would probably do carry-out going forward. But they got the crust crispy all the way around, which is tough with that many toppings. Best deep dish I've had! (Sorry actual Chicago deep dish establishments.) I'm not a fan of deep dish because there is usually too much sauce and the pizza comes out soggy or droopy. We got the 10" second city pizza as a deep dish and it did not disappoint. At first you see the box size and think, no way that will be enough for 2 people but it was! There were even leftovers. The crust was crispy and the sauce set perfectly on top. I'll be going back to try to Chicago style dog and fries that so many of the reviews mention. Really great deep dish pizza! Utensils definitely required! This has to be the thickest, sauciest, cheesiest pizza I've ever tried -- and surprisingly it still maintains a good balance and the crust gets baked all the way through. The mozzarella sticks were good too. This place seems to use high quality ingredients and it shows in their food. Keep in mind the heftiness of the pizza when ordering, because each person will probably only eat 2 or 3 slices. The restaurant is a little bare-bones inside, but if I lived closer I'd be wanting to get take out from here often. read more

Cracker deep dish crust isn't standard, sauce and cheese very good but I feel like you should raise your price and add more toppings. Best Chicago deep dish pizza I have had outside of the Windy City. If you love Lou Malnotties(who doesn't) then I guarantee you'll love this pie. The star of the show really is the crust. It is so light and buttery but still more than strong enough to hold all of the gooey cheese and sauce. And Abby is very friendly and so very proud of her business and it really shows!!! My soft opening experience at this Chicago style pizza place was okay. The Italian beef sandwich with choice of fries or chips ($11.99) was brought to my table eight minutes after I ordered at the counter. The sandwich was generously sized, with tasty, thinly sliced meat on a somewhat stale bun. The service at the counter was friendly and helpful, while the dining area was nice and clean with pleasant background music. No lunch menu or lunch specials were available yet, and the price wasn't a very good value. Overall, I'm thinking 2.5 stars and rounding up due to the soft open. read more

We had an INCREDIBLE experience here! We got there around 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon! There were lots of people that had ordered to go but we were the only people seated to eat! The very sweet lady working there told us it would be about 30 minutes for a pizza! And she was spot on and it was definitely worth the wait! We ordered "The Windy City" in deep dish in a size small. It was perfect for my husband and I to share! Everything about the pizza was awesome! The crust was crunchy with great flavor and so much cheese! And the meat especially the meatballs, sooooooo good!! The sauce was my favorite part so flavorful but not over powering on the rest of the pizza flavors! We also ordered the vanilla cheesecake, WOW! After running some errands tonight, we decided to stop and eat. All our "usuals" were busier than we wanted to deal with so we kept driving. We'd both seen this place, not living very away at all, and decided that it would perfect. There were a few tables with people (around 7:30 on a Thursday night) so it wasn't crowded at all. This was a pizza place before but I don't remember it having as much room. Anyway, on to the food. The specialty pizzas are not the run of the mill choices. They had a lot of good ones. We decided on the "church lady" with fresh mozzarella, pepperoni and giardiniera. Oh yeah, and crushed garlic. Yummy. We got the regular crust but they offer deep dish too. Saw a couple of those go past our table. Those looked really good. Oh well, next time. And yes, there will be a next time. We brought home basically a small pizza. The wings were awesome (my hubby's opinion since he ate them all before I could try one) and the cheesecake was to die for! Been to a lot of Chicago restaurants, while it does taste good, it doesn't match up to the real deal. I got an Italian beef sandwich and a Chicago dog for lunch that day. The Chicago dog did come with nuclear green relish but my peppers were really tough and I couldn't eat them. I would bite into the pepper and just stop. The outer skin wouldn't tear and allow me to eat the pepper. I tried to eat them but gave up. The Italian beef sandwich was good but I would order that over the Chicago dog but it wasn't great overall. The beef had a good flavor to it and it was enhanced by adding the au jus to it, but it was missing something. The peppers were not hot or sweet. There were a lot of them, but didn't fit the sandwich and fell out. I had to eat them with a spoon. I would suggest someone go there just to try out the restaurant but I am not too sure if I would be a regular customer there. A meh restaurant for flavor. Alright folks get in the car and head here. I have been though this restaurant several times over the past year and it never disappoints. Today my wife came in and after debating choices we settled on the "deep dish my kind of town" The deep dish is not your typical grease laden bread. Third coast has a thicker than hand tossed Crust but with the toppings make this more than jus good. Boarding on great. We will get this one again. Plenty of cheese and flavorful meat. They use a lighter sauce with a hint of sweet. The atmosphere is simple and COVID safe. Talking with the staff they truly enjoy making pizza and getting a great product out. Going to preface this review and say that this is the first Chicago Deep Dish style pizza I have tasted. I ordered for carry out, Half Windy City, Half Second City, the person on the phone said it would take about 35 mins. I arrived after just 20 mins, and had some time to chat with the owner. Really nice guy, we talked about his store, other restaurants that we had been to lately ect. The place is very clean and inviting, there were several tables of people dining in that night as well. After my pie was done, I grabbed it and took it home. I can't lie, this thing felt like it was 5lbs or more of food. So I got home, and like others, I did notice that there was a lot of sauce on top. But that didn't bother me, since you can always push a bit of it off, but you can't get more if it's dry. Right? Anyway, I tried both pizzas. My biggest problem was not the amount of sauce, but the flavor of the sauce. I think I would prefer a bit more spices and seasoning, it tasted just very fresh tomatoey. The rest of the pizza was alright, I am not sure if deep dish is just not for me, or if Third Coast just fell short of my expectations. While I would recommend others that do enjoy deep dish to give them a try, I would probably not return myself. read more

I've only had the Chicago style pizza and it is top notch! Every bit as good as what I had at the famed Pizzeria Due in downtown Chicago. You might think it's slightly pricey for the size... until you feel how HEAVY the box is and realize you won't be able to finish a second slice. I ordered the City in a Garden and Windy City pizzas--one vegetarian, the other meat-heavy. Both were fantastic. I noticed when ordering that I could order a pizza with the same ingredients as the Windy City and it would actually be about 60 cents cheaper. But I spent the extra pennies and asked when I got there what the difference was. I was told that for the Windy City they'll put on about 1/4 again as much of the ingredients as if I'd ordered those toppings separately. So it was definitely a good deal. Pro-tip: If you're ordering pizza to go, pick it up yourself and transport it home carefully. Put it on the FLOOR of your vehicle so it will stay as level as possible. Ease into your stops and take your turns slowly. There is a LOT of thick sauce and cheese and toppings that can move around. I put mine in the passenger seat which has just enough of an incline that a lot of sauce and topping drifted toward the lower end. It was a bit messy to redistribute, but still delicious! I don't even want to think what it would have looked like if the typical Door Dasher had tossed the pizzas in the back seat of his jalopy and burned rubber to my place. Here's a tip on re-heating if you have leftovers. First heat your slice(s) up in the microwave until the top is warm. This takes a surprisingly long time--two minutes in our microwave but yours may be more powerful. THEN put it in a frying pan on medium heat for 13 minutes. This will crisp up the bottom nicely and make sure the heat goes all the way through. If you do this it'll be almost as good as fresh. One note to the people at Third Coast: consider putting waxed paper or a corrugated waxed lining along the bottom of the box. Our boxes got pretty soggy and I was worried the pizza might tear through the bottom. To be fair, it never did, so maybe I'm worrying over nothing. read more
