It gets super crowded the morning we went . The line did go fast which was good because it gave me time to know what I wanted. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I got a iced vanilla coffee. They gave it to me black and then you head over to the coffee station and add cream and sugar if you want to. I got a birthday macaroon for My daughter. They were good and soft! The coffee is so yummy !!! read more

Stopped by Thinking Cup for coffee and a break while walking the Freedom Trail. I ordered a honey cinnamon latte. I really liked the latte art and presentation (my photo and the others here don't lie), but honestly the latte was a bit too sour for my taste. The sweetness of the syrup didn't balance it out and just made for a weird sour-sweet blend, though I enjoyed the honey cinnamon flavor. The iced lattes looked like they had more milk in them, so they may be less sour. What I really liked about the place was the atmosphere. Plenty of seating, bustling environment, and friendly service. Also, the table designs are really cool. Overall, I didn't enjoy the latte a ton, but the location and vibes were great. read more

Love this place! Great food, great drinks, friendly staff. I always get the turmeric latte (which doesn't show on the menu). My only criticism is that it is always very very smoky inside of the North End location, you leave smelling like food and I'm not sure how healthy it is to breathe all that smoke? read more

Cute coffee shop in Boston. One of the best lattes I've ever had. They have homemade sauces, I got the cinnamon. So good! It does get very packed but lots of seating. It is loud inside. They have so many food items, breakfast sandwiches, cakes and macarons. Yum! read more

So far the best latte that I've had in Boston. Definitely recommend there honey cinnamon latte, super creamy - enough caffeine and service is great. Super trendy and cute coffee shop too! In terms of workspace, there weren't many outlets. But lots of open tables that you can work at with free Wi-Fi. read more

When I was at the Old North Church, this was their recommendation for a nice place for a coffee and a pastry with a bathroom. I ordered a vanilla ginger latte and a berry financier and they were both really good. The financier was light and not too sweet and the vanilla ginger latte had a very nice flavor. People were friendly and I got my latte quickly. Ask for a code for the bathroom. They have quite a few tables. read more

Great coffee house in Boston's North End! I'm in Boston for a week and just enjoying the hell out of the town! Time to hit the road Saturday morning but one thing is bugging me, I didn't visit the North End? I got up super early Saturday morning to have an espresso with my peoples before hitting the highway. Walking in, there are two ladies manning the counter. I look at the menu and see there is a Cortado. I ask, what's your version of a Cortado? She explains the milk to coffee ratio and I give a thumbs up. I notice the menu has some incredible breakfast choices, I simply want a biscotti to chase with this coffee. The coffee has me thinking (See what I did there?) this is a serious roasting house, they're serving Stumptown and Third Wave Coffee products exclusively. And I dig that! The biscotti? Look at that picture, this thing is huge! YUGE! I'm not complaining, I can taste the fresh figs and nuts, It's an Italian thing and their biscotti is the star of the show. The coffee? Amazing! So here's the deal, I owned a coffee shop back in San Francisco and I very well know what a double espresso looks like. When I made a comment to the person working, they assured me it was a double and looked at me like I was stupid. $7 plus tip for a single is quite literally robbery. Cute cafe in Boston. Was only in town for a day and stopped by the thinking cup for breakfast since it was near my hotel. I had lox and cream cheese on an everything bagel and a chai latte. Both were tasty. Friendly baristas. The cafe itself is cozy. A good place to check email or catch up with friends and co workers. read more

Service was ok, but the place isn't very clean. The food was ok until we saw not one but TWO mice run across the floor. We were sitting in the back of the cafe and watched one run from the kitchen/food prep area into the baseboard of a booth, then almost immediately another ran from the back doorway up into the dividing wall where the kitchen/food prep area is. I've never regretted a restaurant choice so quickly in my life. read more

This cafe is the absolute cutest! The lattes are amazing and their selection of pastries and coffees look so delicious. The line moves really quick, the baristas are really helpful. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte and it was delivered with a little heart in the middle. I got the latte to go and it was delicious for a cold morning (cold for me, I'm sure this was more like normal fall weather for locals). I reAlly loved the ambience of this cafe. The decor and smells of a coffee house and the noises of the machines running was just a so wonderful experience. I didn't get any food items, but they all looked amazing. Especially the Crepe Cake and the muffins. If ever in the area I think it would be a great place to grab a drink and sit and watch the busy street. Another great addition is this is right off of the Freedom Trail so you can grab some coffee as you start your adventure! read more

Pretty busy place. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and an almond milk latte to stay in and enjoy. The sandwich was ok. The egg tasted like it was poured from a carton. The texture was like a custard. Good selection of coffees, ample seating, very reasonable prices. $4.70 for a large iced coffee with honey cinnamon (the iced coffees are made with cold brew as well!). Not brewed to order, poured from a pre-made pitcher, though makes it ready on the bar in less than 30 seconds and nice smooth taste. Huge pastry selection as well. read more

If you love desserts, this is the spot for you. If you love coffee, walk away. This was the worst coffee I've had in a while. I ordered a medium vanilla cold brew with oat milk and a medium mocha latte with oat milk. I received a large cold brew with no oatmilk and no vanilla. My partner's order was inputted as a small. When I asked for oatmilk for my drink, the barista poured barely any into the drink and asked me if it was enough and I honestly said no. Then she poured it into a separate cup for me. The coffee itself really tasted like watered down coffee in both the latte and the cold brew as another reviewer said. There were also coffee grinds at the bottom. The sea salt chocolate chip cookie was delicious but this was honestly the worst coffee I've had in a while. read more

Took a friend who was in town to get some coffee after our dinner. We saw a big menu of their pour over and that's what we decided to get. When I ordered the second pour over, I was told that they only have one pour over and that it'd take 10 mins to make one. Weird that a coffee shop would only have one. I proceeded to order as we weren't in a rush to go anyway. The cashier seems annoyed??? Took about 20 mins to get our coffees, as expected. The ambience is pretty nice at this place but do not expect much from the sandwiches. The first one I got was the Barcelona Bliss and it was not toasted, bland tasting, and the green olive spread was way too overpowering & the meats were cold? The entire sandwich was cold. I also got the Roasted Chicken Sandwich and the bread was burnt and the inside also was just flavorless. Also there aren't any chargers inside and everything is just exorbitantly priced. Service is good though and the ambience is really great when it's not packed. read more

A little slice of heaven. I work in the north end and always arrive a little early so I can walk up to the Thinking Cup. They're one of the few places close by that has gluten free options. I always get a GF sandwich or salad, a GF brown butter rice crispy treat and a GF chocolate chip cookie. YUM. Their drinks are really good as well, I usually go for the vanilla iced chai. A little pricier but worth it. read more

The Thinking Cup is a hipster paradise tucked neatly away on bustling Hanover Street in Boston's North End. If you don't feel like waiting in line at some of the neighboring cafes and desserteries (I just made up that word, it's totally a word now), this is an ideal spot to stop and grab a pastry, delicious sandwich, or cup of coffee when you're in the area. This has been one of my favorite cafes in the city, ever since discovering the Boston Common flagship all the way back in high school, and I always make a point to visit the spacious North End location now as well. There is plenty of seating at tables and a long bar with charging outlets, so it's a great place to get work done. The interior is reminiscent of a 1920's speakeasy, with newspaper-adorned walls and dim chandelier lighting. In other words, it's perfect for Instagram! Take your pick from a myriad of sweet and savory options, including an impressive selection of grilled cheese sandwiches featuring creative fillings like chicken doused in a house made coffee barbecue sauce (!!!), plus soups, oatmeal, yogurt parfaits, and assorted pastries and cakes. No matter what you get, be sure to wash it down with a tiny cup of their satisfying French Hot Chocolate, which is just like drinking melted chocolate, and a must-get for anyone with a sweet tooth! I love it! Thinking Cup is a bit on the pricy side, but as one of the only cafes in the neighborhood that accepts credit cards and a great oasis from the crowded joints down the road, it's totally worth a visit! read more

Cute, large coffee shop and sandwich place. Many outdoor tables with umbrellas with pretty flowers blooming everywhere (it's May). The inside is dark(er) and the menu has plenty of choices. They have a breakfast menu, a grilled cheese menu, and pastries. The breakfast sandwich was egg, bacon, and cheese on an English muffin. Personally I love Starbucks egg white turkey bacon sandwich better, but doesn't mean it was bad! However my boyfriend felt it was better than Starbucks and said it was awesome. So who knows! Just our humble opinions. It was good and served its purpose for a quick breakfast while walking along the freedom trail (note brick path in front). Workers wore masks and were friendly. Bathrooms were not the most clean, but they were nice. Great place to sit outside and enjoy a little something. read more

The blueberry bagel I had that day was absolutely superb, probably the best blueberry bagel I've ever had in Boston. A few days later, I craved that same blueberry bagel and made the trip back, which is a considerable drive for me. Overall, the experience was unpleasant, and the bagels were not enjoyable at all. The blueberry bagel from my first visit looked and tasted amazing and was completely different in quality from what I received on my second visit. On top of that, the person behind the counter seemed careless with hygiene, touching the screen, bagels, and other surfaces without any apparent attention to cleanliness. You do have to order a minimum of 3 bagels with a Schmear so just keep that in mind. We got the Poppy, Sesame, and Everything bagels with Scallion Schmear. Bagels were perfectly soft and the schmear was delicious! I wasn't sure how I would feel about the concept of ripping the bagels and dipping it into the cream cheese, but I actually ended up preferring it - less messy and more cream cheese per bite. Wish PopUp Bagels was in the Bay Area. I would definitely return!

One random detail that stuck out to me was that their drinks in their refrigerator were very cold - no lukewarm sodas here! I would come back here to try their signature "Fancy" sandwich. The clam chowder was also disappointing. I kept wondering where the clams were because I barely tasted any. It was very thick and mostly tasted like corn. Even after adding salt and pepper, it didn't improve much. Overall, I expected more for the price. There were definitely some highlights, especially the bun with fresh lobster and the atmosphere, but the food didn't quite live up to the cost. That said, I'll give it another try because maybe this was just a fluke. I always like giving restaurants a second chance, and I'm hoping this experience was the exception rather than the norm.

I really loved all of the bowls I've tried but my favorites are probably the Sake Aisuru Don and Kuromon Don. I just prefer more salmon to more tuna though, and they're all very good! Food: - Sake Aisuru Don: their classic all-salmon bowl! I loved the larger cuts of salmon, and I was pleasantly surprised that even the more pulverized salmon was flavorful! - Kuromon Don: loved the yellowtail in this! Each fish comes with two pieces (except the mackerel for which there are four), and I liked the sampler style for the salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and izumidai. - Maguro Toro Don: so much tuna! And all such high quality. The otoro was so fatty that it practically melted in my mouth without chewing. - Sake Maguro Hamachi Don: a mix of salmon, blue fin tuna, and yellowtail. I liked the yellowtail in this a lot and found that it stood out the most from the other two fish in this particular bowl!

Again, so impressed with the quality of the fish and the size of it. They didn't skimp out and really enjoyed the thickness of the sashimi despite it only being 3 pieces. It was a very satiating bowl. Cant wait to come back next time again!
