Delicious! We ordered medium & mild spice levels of the Chicken Tikka Masala. Both had incredible flavor! The chicken chunks were so tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. Almost melted in your mouth. To go along with the masala we had orders of the garlic naan and butter naan. Again, both were tasty, though I would say that the garlic naan paired better with the masala sauce. Hearty portions of everything! Its self seating, but there's no way to know that, for ordering, you have to walk up to a seperate kiosk, with no signage or information saying where or how to order. Promos on the table suggest ordering through the app and saving 5$, however price changes, as well as taxes and fees on the app will result in spending more than the 5$ read more

I had a decent experience with this restaurant in the past, but the quality seems to have changed. Service is still fast and friendly. The front staff seem very nice. The pakora are still really delicious-- crispy, well-seasoned, with nice variety. The mint chutney tasted like spoiled raw onions to me. It's a *weird* fake color, like food coloring, with a fake mint flavor. There don't seem to be fresh herbs in there--certainly if it has any fresh mint or cilantro, it's not a flavor you can taste. The tamarind chutney is extremely sweet, like a jam, without any sour tamarind flavor. It's a shame to serve delicious pakora with such sauces (the mint one I found truly inedible). The curry dishes are ok, not much different from what we can make at home, and the cost per dish is quite high, close to $20/dish. The toilet in the women's bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in months. The dining room is clean, though. Overall, my impression of this restaurant has dropped since it opened and I'm not sure I'd return except just for pakora. The place was almost empty on Friday night. First time visiting. We went in at an off time and were one of two parties. The server was welcoming, friendly and happily answered questions. However, overall service was slow. We ordered a veg pakora combo, butter chicken, palak paneer, and garlic naan. The palak paneer was requested to be medium spicy and it was adequate. There was only a couple of pieces of paneer though. We had the same complaint with the butter chicken in that there was only a small portion of chicken included. The garlic naan was not quite as garlicky as experienced elsewhere but it was definitely hot and freshly made and was delicious and sizable. It begins the moment you walk in the door, the intoxicating aroma of Indian spices hits you like a tidal wave and you realize that you're in for something special. The veggie pakora appetizer ($12) should not be missed. When it came out, my jaw dropped at how hefty they were. Most of the time, pakoras are heavy on the chickpea-flour batter. However these were stuffed with potato & onion (I think) with a thinner coating of batter. The seasoning was just perfect, and the chutneys took it to the next level. Definitely the best pakoras I've ever had. The eggplant bharta ("smoked eggplant from the tandoor cooked with onions, tomatoes & fresh herbs" $17) also blew me away at first bite. So perfectly seasoned & spiced and easy to scoop up with a piece of garlic naan. I even really liked the green peas, which I tend to avoid. I would order this again and again. The tandoori fish tikka ($21) came out on a sizzling plate, similar to fajitas. It was a generous serving of cod served with marinated onions and peppers and fresh lemon. The fish was cooked properly with a pinkish hue and great tandoori flavor. I highly enjoyed this. Of course I had to wash it down with a mango lassi ($5). It was served in a sundae glass, and had the perfect mango flavor without being too sweet. This was the ideal way to cool down from all the spice. They also have beer (bottle & tap) and wine. We arrived around 5:45 on a Friday and it wasn't too crowded, by 6:30 it was almost full. Our service was good and the food came out quickly. I stopped by Thind Pakora House in Coburg Road and ordered the samosa chaat as an appetizer and the chicken tikka masala as my entrée. The chicken was incredibly tender and juicy...honestly some of the best I've had in a long time and paired perfectly with the flavorful tikka masala sauce. The portion size for the samosa chaat is definitely shareable, and while it was a bit too much for me alone, the flavors were fresh and well balanced . Very delightful mix of sweetness, warm spices, crunch, and creamy yogurt for balance. I visited around 1 PM and found the restaurant very clean with excellent service. Food was a delight. Plenty of choices for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. Vegan...don't eat anything with Paneer and there are plenty of choices too. We shared the Pakora sample platter (1 lbs of pakoras: paneer, cauliflower, potato or vegetable, about 2 of each), the smoked eggplant with spices (medium spices was Plenty Hot!), vegetable biryani (super yumm and definitely the highlight of the meal with superb spices) and some garlic naan (alps very good albeit a bit oily). Plenty of food for 2 and leftovers to spare. Service is a bit stand-off-ish, not quite rude and not quite friendly either, but at least it was efficient and accurate. Yay authentic Indian food! Shrimp tandoori - served on a hot skillet fresh to order. It was reminiscent of the smoking hot fajitas served to your table - lots of onions and peppers topped with cilantro. Excellent flavors and nice spice. 5 stars. Butter chicken - delicious sauce but very small portion of chicken, like one thigh? Appreciated that they adjust the spice level to your preference though. 4.5 stars. Paneer cheese Naan - the Naan bread was exceptional! Perfect crisp and soft chew. I think I'm partial to the Americanized mozzarella version, but this was still tasty. 5 stars. Mulligatawny Soup - a nice blended rice, lentil and veg soup. A little disappointed by the scant amount of tiny pieces of tandoori chicken and lack of sweetness, but still good. 4.5 stars. I think I still prefer Royal India here in Eugene, but maybe it's all about the pakora? Will have to try that out next time! read more

This is really the only authentic, not "Americanized", Indian restaurant in Eugene. I so missed real Indian food after moving to Eugene from the East Coast. Everything I've had there has been outstanding and I cannot get the Malai Kofta dumplings out of my mind- the sauce is amazing - so get extra naan to scoop it up. I also love the Tandori Fish Tikka. While the service can be a bit uneven, an Indian friend once said "There is American time and there is Indian time," so I just ease into Indian time when I am there. read more

Delicious and flavorful Indian food. We specifically went here because they also have a kids menu with chicken nuggets and French fries for our picky eater. We tried veggie pakora, plain naan , chicken biryani, butter chicken, eggplant bharta , and shrimp palak. The table favorite was the eggplant bharta. The shrimp palak I would not get again- not much shrimp. We took home plenty of leftovers and they were even better the next day. Ambiance is nothing special, next time will probably do take out. We sat down easily early on sat weekend night with no reservation but about half the tables were reserved and whole restaurant was full when left. The food was AMAZING! My husband declared while using his garlic naan to wipe his paneer tiki masala dish clean, "This is the best restaurant in Eugene!" I ordered the aloo gobhi and he had the paneer tiki masala. Both super delicious with distinct flavors and fresh herbs. We started with veg samosas, also delish. Oh and the garlic naan was crispy on the edges, chewy, soft and covered in garlic- SO GOOD Unfortunately, we were seated right at the beginning of a six table dinner rush and so we got served but the forth or fifth table didn't get their order taken after about 20 minutes and so they left. Like many others have said, the service is just poor. We arrived early on a Saturday night and were the only ones there. We were sat at a table with only one menu, and it took the waiter a while to come over with water and didn't provide any additional menus. I had to go grab some from other tables. We ordered 3 entrees, and 2 appetizers. Overall the food was pretty tasty and on par with other Indian restaurants in Eugene. However, beware of the Lamb Seekh Kabab. It is not what the description describes. The menu says "Lamb marinated in special sauce, skewered with onions and tomatoes" and what you get is lamb sausages on a skillet with onions, no tomatoes and no skewers. At $20.99 you'd expect decent lamb, not a sausage that could be packed with any kind of meat. Very disappointing. After our meal was delivered to the table, the server was nowhere to be seen. No one came by to ask how everything was or if we needed anything. We had to hunt down someone for water. After we finished our meal, nobody even came by to clean up the dishes. They sat there for the entire time we were there until we finally got up to leave. We had to hunt someone down for boxes which then took at least 15 minutes to be brought back to us. Lastly, no one brought us the bill to pay. We saw other people walking up to the counter to pay so we followed along and did the same. No check to review what you ordered. We noted the lack of attentiveness and dirty dishes piling up at our table, and we got a blank stare. Not what you expect when paying over $100 for dinner. We won't be returning until they clean up their act and have better customer service. As a new restaurant, I'd expect an extra effort to win over patrons and ensure people are having a pleasant experience. The lack of care or awareness was very upsetting. read more

Asked kindly if they would adjust the bill and seemed to get agreement. Charged full price, so $6+ for a drumstick? No thighs, breast...told a drumstick is a large piece of chicken. For $10 they lost a customer (Evergreen is better food and a great family) and they get this review. This is my first negative review and it hurts to post, and people should know when they order 6 pieces of chicken they are going to get 3 drumsticks. Lol. read more

The paneer tikka masala had a small number of very thin slices of paneer. I was surprised by how little we got. I want to give them 5 stars. Food was good. But there are SO many other things that drove the score down. We showed up at 5:00 on a Sunday. Two other tables were taken. We were seated and given water. A menu was on the table; I asked for another, and the waiter replied we had one already. I went to the front desk and got another. We waited for over 20 minutes to order. We kept trying to get the attention of three waiters to no avail. In the meantime, people came in at five other tables. Everyone was trying to get a waiter's attention to order. We ran out of water and also wanted a refill of it. After more than 20 minutes, he took our whole order: drinks, appetizers, main meal, and more water. A few minutes later, he brought our drinks. We again asked for water. After about 15 minutes, appetizers and dinner were delivered simultaneously. We asked for water a third time. Silverware was in a little metal bucket, with the spoon and fork tines facing up. So every person prior to us was touching our silverware. Dinner was delicious. We asked two different waiters three MORE times for water and another napkin, as the tiny one-ply paper napkins were dirty. We never got the water not more napkins. After dinner, we waited for a long time for a waiter to bring our check and for us to ask for to-boxes. After probably another 15 minutes, I went to the register and paid there. I asked for three boxes. After probably ten more minutes of us trying to get a waiter's attention, one came up and finally offered water. (We were fixing to leave, so said no.) But we asked for three boxes. He came back with one. We told him we needed three, and he returned with one more. Our dinner, which should have taken less than an hour, took nearly two hours. Luckily, Sunday night we didn't have any pressing issues. As I stated, food was good. If we had a problem, or even two, I'd give 4-4.5 stars. They're lucky they're getting two. read more

We arrrived at 6 PM on a Thursday, and entering the restaurant saw most of the tables filled. The server said we could sit anywhere. After a half hour, that lone server in the restaurant part placed two glasses of water on our table and walked away. We started to notice that many tables had no food or beverages. There was some activity at the bar adjacent to the restaurant. He finally came to our table to take our drinks, appetizer order and entree, and we waited another 30 minutes. A few tables that had been waiting before us got their food. At one hour, we got our two glasses of wine, our Samosa appetizer, and our butter chicken and lamb tika masala and rice. The food was very good. When we wanted to pay, we asked the lone server in the restaurant, and he pointed to the cash register for us to pay. So, the food was authentic and good, but the frustrating lack of any interaction with the sole server in the restaurant soured our experience. They really need to improve their customer service and need more wait staff. read more
