    Veg combo
    Kirsten R.

First time visiting. We went in at an off time and were one of two parties. The server was welcoming, friendly and happily answered questions. However, overall service was slow. We ordered a veg pakora combo, butter chicken, palak paneer, and garlic naan. The palak paneer was requested to be medium spicy and it was adequate. There was only a couple of pieces of paneer though. We had the same complaint with the butter chicken in that there was only a small portion of chicken included. The garlic naan was not quite as garlicky as experienced elsewhere but it was definitely hot and freshly made and was delicious and sizable. The veg combo was delicious as were the tamarind and mint chutneys. The restaurant was clean and inviting but the bathrooms could have been cleaner.

It begins the moment you walk in the door, the intoxicating aroma of Indian spices hits you like a tidal wave and you realize that you're in for something special. The veggie pakora appetizer ($12) should not be missed. When it came out, my jaw dropped at how hefty they were. Most of the time, pakoras are heavy on the chickpea-flour batter. However these were stuffed with potato & onion (I think) with a thinner coating of batter. The seasoning was just perfect, and the chutneys took it to the next level. Definitely the best pakoras I've ever had. The eggplant bharta ("smoked eggplant from the tandoor cooked with onions, tomatoes & fresh herbs" $17) also blew me away at first bite. So perfectly seasoned & spiced and easy to scoop up with a piece of garlic naan. I even really liked the green peas, which I tend to avoid. I would order this again and again. The tandoori fish tikka ($21) came out on a sizzling plate, similar to fajitas. It was a generous serving of cod served with marinated onions and peppers and fresh lemon. The fish was cooked properly with a pinkish hue and great tandoori flavor. I highly enjoyed this. Of course I had to wash it down with a mango lassi ($5). It was served in a sundae glass, and had the perfect mango flavor without being too sweet. This was the ideal way to cool down from all the spice. They also have beer (bottle & tap) and wine. We arrived around 5:45 on a Friday and it wasn't too crowded, by 6:30 it was almost full. Our service was good and the food came out quickly. We ordered all our food mild, yet it came out with a good amount of heat. There was plenty for leftovers the next day.

I stopped by Thind Pakora House in Coburg Road and ordered the samosa chaat as an appetizer and the chicken tikka masala as my entrée. The chicken was incredibly tender and juicy...honestly some of the best I've had in a long time and paired perfectly with the flavorful tikka masala sauce. The portion size for the samosa chaat is definitely shareable, and while it was a bit too much for me alone, the flavors were fresh and well balanced . Very delightful mix of sweetness, warm spices, crunch, and creamy yogurt for balance. I visited around 1 PM and found the restaurant very clean with excellent service. Overall, it was a great experience and I look forward to returning.

Food was a delight. Plenty of choices for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. Vegan...don't eat anything with Paneer and there are plenty of choices too. We shared the Pakora sample platter (1 lbs of pakoras: paneer, cauliflower, potato or vegetable, about 2 of each), the smoked eggplant with spices (medium spices was Plenty Hot!), vegetable biryani (super yumm and definitely the highlight of the meal with superb spices) and some garlic naan (alps very good albeit a bit oily). Plenty of food for 2 and leftovers to spare. Service is a bit stand-off-ish, not quite rude and not quite friendly either, but at least it was efficient and accurate. Definitely will be back!

It's nice to see Punjabi style Indian food in Eugene. Crispy pakoras, flavorful lamb biryani, and a good basic chicken curry. Staff were nice and attentive. The place was clean and well taken care of. I expect we'll be back.

Naan , Butter chicken,Curry Chicken , vegetable Biryani , & Dal Makhni lentils And we also took home Fish Tikka. All yummy.

The gal told me that the lunch buffet will end in about 40 minutes and asked if it was okay with us. I said no problem. We go seated and got went to the buffet counter. It was a smaller selection than what we were used to but it didn't bother us. We got what we wanted to eat and enjoyed our food. Even though the buffet was closing soon, the cooks were still bringing items out. I was kinda expecting we were just going to get what ever is left, but everything was still coming out very hot and fresh. I didn't get seconds, but my daughter did. She's pregnant and said that the food really hit the spot for her and the baby. For me, that's a win! Thank you for the great food and service. We will definitely be back.

I have been wanting some Indian food, and saw on Royal India's website they offer lunch specials…read morethat were pretty reasonable. So I went to Royal India. I was seated quickly, and brought water... I also ordered a Masala Chai. Once there, I found out they no longer have Lunch Specials, but opened a buffet ($17.95) instead. Apparently the website has been incorrect for over a year, but the owner has not fixed it. I did not really want buffet, although it looked decent. So I ordered the Chicken Korma ($19.95). Then I found out that unlike the lunch specials I was hoping for, they do not serve Naan with their dishes, so also ordered some Garlic Naan. The food was delivered to my table in a reasonable amount of time... and looked good, although I thought the portion of Korma was pretty small for the price. Korma description in the menu states it has cashews and raisins in it. I think I could taste some cashew, although there were no whole cashews like I have had at other restaurants with this dish... and no raisins either. It did taste strongly of curry leaves which overpowered the cashew flavor I love. But every cook does this dish differently. Large portion of rice was ok. Garlic naan was very thin, and lacked the chewy softness I expect from naan. This was just flat, no rise at all. Masala chai was lacking in flavor, but it was a large portion, which was nice. Service was very good... Ingrid checked on me repeatedly, and was very nice. For the price ($36+) with the tip, I felt like this was a very expensive lunch, and while I did take some home... it was not even a meal (unless you count just the rice). Usually if I spend that, I get at least one other meal from the takeout. I guess I will have to just stick to making Korma at home when I want some. Not sure if I will be back....

It was chilly, so we waited inside of the public house building in the middle of all the food trucks. The building had a welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted by a friendly bartender at the bar, there are high ceilings, and dim lighting with natural light coming from the large windows. Music was playing, but wasn't too loud. Seemed like a nice spot to work from home. There were a few people who had their laptops plugged in at the tables. The crunch wraps were warm when they arrived, but still crunchy on the outside. I ordered my chicken crunch wrap extra spicy and it had a good amount of heat. The vegan crunch wrap was equally filling and flavorful. The marsala fries were a let down; they were the regular fries with a little drizzle of sauce and black sesame sprinkled on top. I wouldn't pay extra to order it again since it tasted just like the regular fries. We ordered the natural root beer in the public house which tasted refreshing and much better than the canned stuff you get at the grocery store. It paired well with the rich, creamy crunch wraps. Would come again!

Was hoping they had a non meat (I don't eat chicken, beef or pork) option but they had no shrimp or tofu. Suggest they add something like shrimp as an option and uses some spices. Fries were ok. Person taking the order seemed like they didn't enjoy their job.

It's located in a little food truck alley on Main. It's the second food truck in the row so it's easy to spot. The employee (owner maybe?) walked into the truck when we arrived and took our order immediately. I ordered a mango lassi, butter chicken, and plain naan. My partner ordered the tandoori chicken and garlic naan. The food took about half an hour to come out which was fine as there was covered seating right there. We sat and called my partner's mom for Mother's Day. The food came out hot and smelled absolutely delicious. We took it home, about a 20 minute drive, and it was still hot when we ate. The mango lassi was good but a little small for the price. I finished it within 10 minutes of getting it. The butter chicken was fantastic. It was spiced well and was incredibly tender and flavorful. The rice it came with was also great. The plain naan was delicious and paired perfectly with the butter chicken. My partner found the tandoori chicken to be dry but I suspect that's what the yogurt sauce was for. He doesn't like yogurt so he didn't try it, but I think it probably would have been less dry with the sauce. His garlic naan was also good, he ended up having some left over which I put with my leftover butter chicken and am planning on having for lunch today. The food truck alley was quiet and clean with good seating. We didn't eat there since like I said we took our food home with us, but I think we would have enjoyed eating there too. There are plenty of covered picnic tables to choose from. I didn't see a bathroom nearby, not surprising since it's just a food truck alley. Overall I really enjoyed the food from this spot and definitely want to go back. It wasn't super expensive, and while it looks like a small amount of food it is actually incredibly filling and you will likely have leftovers for another day. Definitely stop by and give this food truck a try if you're ever in the area!
