Their hourly rate is lower than the karaoke bars on the Cermak strip and there's actual parking available here because it's off a less busy strip in Chinatown. Reservations and communication with the staff were superb. They're so responsive and courteous. I hope my further feedback serve as a suggestion to the owner because this place has a lot of potential to be a 5 star bar. Here we go... the sound system was not amazing. The loudest volume for the room was not sufficient for what it holds. We had the largest room (for 40) and with the sound system the way it is, people talking, laughing, and sighing are all competing with each other almost equally. The second feedback was the in room service. We had a party and had to order everything at the bar instead of having a server check in on us if we want to order more bottles, drinks, and food. They could have had a lot of opportunity to make a whole lot more if we didn't have to walk out of our room to order. Overall, a great experience and everyone had a great time. Theme house is a relatively new karaoke place in the chinatown area. It is located on 24th Pl, which is away from the main chinatown crowd and traffic. The vibe is cool, modern and pretty. It has all the mainstays as other karaoke places. An open general area for everyone and private rooms of various sizes. Beer, liquor (order a shot or entire bottle) and non-alcoholic beverages. Had my birthday here and rented one of their big VIP rooms. We showed up and were told they were getting the room ready, so we wait at the bar. A half an hour goes by and we have to ask them when our room will be ready. The server was apologetic, told us it will be ready soon and that we could have an extra hour for the trouble which we thought was nice. So we go to our room. We had fun but the videos on the screen didn't work half the time, servers never really came to check on us or take orders or give us a time check. Then towards the end they tried to charge us extra because they said we overstayed our time, even though we were explicitly told we could get an extra hour since they were late. All in all a pretty lame experience, especially considering how much money we were spending there on a "VIP" room. read more

This place is so fun! A friend celebrated their birthday here and we rented out the larger room. It fit around 25 of us comfortably. One downside to the experience was that it took 30 minutes for us to get our room due to the last reservation, but they made up for that by allowing us to stay a little later past our reservation time. While we waited, we got drinks at the bar and the place was spacious enough for us to all chill. The system to find songs can be a little tricky but the staff was able to help guide us to find songs. The bottle service was great but I wish we were able to receive more mixers because once you finish the 4 mixers provided, you had to pay $10 for each additional mixer. I liked that they also had food available - I didn't get any, but it looked delicious. They also have seating in the main area which was great if folks wanted to step out for a second. If I'm looking for a fun karaoke spot in the future, I'll definitely come back! read more

Was at Theme House over the weekend for a friend's birthday and we had a memorable time. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and immediately brought to our private room. There were about 20+ people in our party. The room was large enough to accommodate us all. We met the owner who was nice and charismatic. Since it was our first time, and had such a large group for a birthday, we were promised a round of free shots for everyone when we made the reservation -- this was fulfilled! Much appreciated. Enjoyed the environment and lighting. It set the mood and helped keep the energy going. On Saturday nights, there's a live band performance which was neat. Everyone who worked here was friendly and helpful; from the bouncer, to the host, bartender, and owner. Food was pretty good. We ordered the Korean fried wings - solid meal. While singing and drinking, this was an excellent combo and will recommend. Fan of the non-spicy, but we also got spicy wings for those wanting a kick. Waited an hour for a room we reserved in advance. Pricing scheme is bonkers (service fee, food minimum, time minimums, automatic tips, etc.). The whole experience felt like a scam. This Karaoke bar is so so. The inside is strung with white Christmas lights that gives off a nice feel on first impression. The music video selection is very old and lacks resolution. Equipment such as microphones were out of battery so we asked them to change it out twice which really detracted from the experience. The service was lacking. There is no call button for service, so we had to go out to the bar each time. The bartender gave me a bucket with 7 drinks and expected me to carry it back to the room. The waitress did bring us food. The chicken wings were hot and tasted better than expected, but pricey and not much options aside from chicken. We had a birthday celebration and asked for extra paper plates and utensils and the staff complained that they do not provide extras. But they have no problem charging $50 for service fee. On Fridays and weekends, they require 3hrs minimum if you want to make a reservation. The bathroom was clean, but looked drab. Parking was easy. read more

I was looking for a place to hold my sisters 50th birthday celebration. We all love karaoke. private room cost 95/ hr. Which isn't bad, we had around 16 people. I was there from 530-930 and the place was completely empty the whole time, (and this was a Saturday) so I felt like I wasted 400 dollars. We could have easily sat in the main room and been fine. I don't blame them for not telling me this, because business is business, but be aware if you have a large group, maybe come in around the time you want to see how busy it is and if you really need a private room. Also was charged a 74 dollar service fee, but everyone had to leave to room constantly to get food and dinks.......There was no one to wait on us, and we were the only party there for 3 of the 4 hours I paid for. The food looked nice, but was only ok. I'm not a hater, but I've been a chef for 25 plus years. so I know a little. The interface for choosing songs was difficult to navigate and the song choice for American songs was limited to like very top hits. Me and my family love karaoke and usually sing from YouTube, but their playlist definite needs an upgrade and update. Overall, I wouldn't suggest renting a private room. If you are only interested in singing songs on the billboard top 100, then maybe this place is for you. If you are looking for some deeper cuts, or even Disney songs......this aint the spot. The drinks were a bit pricy, but there was plenty of parking. That was probably the highlight of the evening. My sister had fun, because all the family was there and we made the best of it, but I would not visit again. This place is amazing!! Went there for my birthday party on NYE and went into a private room for 25 guest! Everything was clean and the atmosphere was incredible. The staff was super chill and gave out free shots at midnight! Was a little confusing searching for songs at times but we enjoyed every song chosen. We went here after a Sox game on a Friday night just to have a drink. The decor and setup was inviting but the people were not. It was almost as if we weren't welcomed there. It was only 2 of us at the bar and we had to motion to him to get service. Even patrons that were using the karaoke rooms jumped in front us, regardless of us approaching the bar first. Maybe it might be fun with a group to use the rooms, but if you're looking to just sit back and have a drink, go elsewhere. read more

This is a great venue for karaoke, especially their private rooms. The controls on the computer were a bit difficult to figure out/navigate; I wish it was a bit easier to sift through the catalogues. However, the staff were extremely friendly and bartenders were attentive and kind. Our friends ordered some food as well and they seemed to enjoy it. The private karaoke room can get a bit hot depending on how many people are inside, but overall this is a fantastic place to bring friends who want to partake in some karaoke. There is plenty of free street parking available as well, just make sure to use the buddy system when traveling to the venue because it's in a bit of a sketchy area. The staff and bartenders are friendly and they make the drinks STRONG lol.
