They also don't have a time pause for turnover so down to the last minute cleanup is going to eat into the next persons reservation. It was slow when we came in but it was a Thursday, but she offered us all the deals they had and we got a private room for karaoke and had a blast! This venue has a large bar area with open tables and also private karaoke rooms. I called ahead to book room for my friends birthday. I left a message, and they called me back within 10 minutes. Booking was easy. The karaoke rooms are well furnished and have fun settings so you can change the lighting, sound levels and microphone levels. You can pull up songs on the karaoke station they have, and you can also pull up videos from YouTube to sing along to if the program doesn't have a song you want! The drinks were really good. I celebrated my birthday with 13 of my closest friends and family members and had a blast. The audio equipment was up-to-date and sounded amazing. The staff was friendly and quick to address any request that came up. The food was tasty and the drinks were NOT watered down. The atmosphere put my guest and I in A laid back atmosphere contributed to the vibe we experience throughout the night while singing and dancing to music. The owner also gave me a complimentary shot for my birthday. The next day, everyone of my guest called to let me know they had a good time. Zero Degree is fairly new, but it's definitely one of the better karaoke lounges in the Bridgeport area. Pros: 1) It has an upscale and trendy fixture. 2) Bathrooms are usable and clean, unlike some of the third world pit holes in nearby places. 3) Quick service and well-mannered staff. Cons: 1) Elevators occasionally malfunction. I suggest you to take the stairs in the back. 2) The music in the lounge area is too loud for chit chat. I've been here a handful of times and I usually linger in the lobby/lounge area with a group of friends. Tl;dr 0 Star Karaoke Bar Let's start with some positives, and work our way down... I called a week in advance to book a private room reservation for 16 people without much issue ( It was a 4 hour minimum which I was quoted $391). Even with our large party we all fit into the room, which also included a private bathroom. So far so good. The karaoke controls were a bit challenging as they were all in mandarin, but that was not a major issue since we had people in our party who could read and navigate the controls. The song selection, for the most part, was decent and the sound quality/ microphones were passable as well. We didn't order any food but did get 1 bottle of grey goose ($150) and 2 bottles of Johnny Walker Black Label ($150 ea), which they claimed they were out of. The waitress offered us Hennessy as a substitute for the same price--Sure. This is where things get weird. The waitress brought out 2 opened bottles of Hennessy XO. We're not big cognac drinkers so we're blissfully unaware that Hennessy XO is not equivalent bottle to Johnny Walker Black Label. In any case, the bottles are open. We start drinking. As someone who is usually in an ambulance after a few shots, the alcohol seemed very watered down, but that's neither here nor there. When we go to close out the bill with a tacked on 20% service charge, we notice that we've been charged $800 for the 2 bottles of Hennessy instead of the $300 we had agreed on. Clearly, there had been a miscommunication and we tried to explain this to the waitress, and then the owner. Now understanding that Hennessy XO is a pricey bottle, we were very much willing to meet him half way on what we thought we were going to pay, but the owner repeatedly refused and said, "The bottles are drunk. There's nothing I can do." Then to appease us, the owner offered a discount on our next visit (why would we come back!?) and $150 cash (very questionable). When the conversation didn't go his way, he then began to push the blame onto us for drinking the alcohol that was opened and served to us. He threatened to report us and use security footage--maybe he thought we were underage, so he was trying take advantage of us? He then questioned if we understood labor costs, cost of materials, and how a business runs. Pretty condescending stuff to be honest and was still getting us nowhere. Then in an otherwise empty club, the people sitting at the bar, who were obviously the owner's friends, kept trying to escalate an already weird situation...One "gentlemen" went as far as to threaten to pull out my friends pretty-white-boy hair. Cool dude. In the end we just paid the bill and left. The last thing I want to do is get shanked in Chinatown on my birthday. Overall, I'm just disappointed in how this was handled. I sincerely, hope the owner of the place reads this and learns from the experience. He has a potentially great establishment that is going to develop a shoddy reputation if they don't treat their customers right. He ended 4 birthdays on a sour note because of his failure to handle a miscommunication, which we were entirely willing to compromise on. I understand having your waitresses back, but your customer deserves some recourse. Long story short, I will not be returning. 0 stars if I could, 0/10 would not recommend. read more

Came here on a Wednesday night to celebrate a birthday. Since we came in the middle of the week I think my group was the only guests there. Parking wasn't terrible. There are free street parking in from of the building and in the side on normal street. The place is very spacious and lights made it colorful. There is an open area with couches that faced the bar area along with multiple private rooms for big or small groups. The room we were given was pretty decent size that 10 ppl could fit comfortably. There was one tv inside and 2 mics. I wish they provided more mics for us, 4 would've been perfect. The songs are mainly Chinese, so if you're trying to have the latest American songs, they might not have it. Other than singing they have cups and dice for you to play dice drinking games. The service was good. The staff who worked there came to check on us to see if we were ok and brought us out drinks and snacks in a timely matter. read more

This place is probably great if you're Asian. I was the only white person here and I felt really out of place and almost as if the bartender were thinking "What are YOU doing here?" The karaoke selection is interesting in that it has Asian and Western choices, but you can tell the "Western" choices were probably translated by someone whose English wasn't that great, as the words are often inaccurate. Though it's interesting to see videos in the background and not just scrolling words. They've got private karaoke rooms that I didn't experience, I simply participated in the main room with a couple of nice Asian ladies. Though the main room was otherwise unoccupied and a little depressing. The atmosphere would be comfortable - leather chairs, dim lighting, modern-looking bar - if not for this strange aspect I can't quite put my finger on. It could be the neighborhood and the building it's in...makes me feel like I'm in the beginning of an episode of CSI or something, like a sinister crime is about to take place. The thing I was most disappointed in was the fact that a non-alcoholic Shirley Temple (sprite & grenadine) cost me something like $4...which is absolutely crazy. read more

We called on Wed to book a room. It was confirmed during the call, but when our group arrived on Saturday night, they told us they never had us down in their book. Screwing up is bad enough because they ruined a special celebration...but they were NOT apologetic about it, we felt like it was our fault for not triple confirming our reservation with them. To make it worst, it seems like the staff plays favorites with their customers here. Bumping people who legitimately made a reservation is not good business. It is my third time having Chinese style Karaoke in the States but it is my first time to be here. The location...is really bad if you don't have a car. You have to take red line and then bus and then a 10 mins walk. I don't know how they can still survive in such a bad location... Indoor...not fancy, not elite, but I won't say it is not good. On January 3rd, my friends and I stopped in to sing a few cool tunes, totally on a whim and on my suggestion. We were initially greeted by a very foul odor in the lobby, before we even made it to the second floor. Once we took the elevator up, we were stunned to see that the entire place was empty. My 3 friends and I took a seat on the plush couches and were immediately approached by a waitress who told us that to sit in that area would cost $15 per person. Now the place was completely empty so I was in shock that she had the nerve to request that. So that we didn't have to pay, we moved to the bar instead. All of the employees seemed to be annoyed, as opposed to being thrilled that they had some business. My friends and I had a few shots, beers and sang 3 songs. Karaoke is one of those things you cannot do regularly or it loses its fun. We decided to come here for Ginger D's birthday, and we had a blast. We opted for the private room (which also has a private bathroom, said private bathroom has earned the establishment an EXTRA star), we were given liquor, mixers, ice and left to indulge in our dorky singing selves. Ah it took me back to middle school to sing N'Sync songs and dance like fools. However, Ginger D., Howie M, and I singing "My Humps" should go down in history books as the best memory EVER. The Chinatown location means parking is hard to find, and the decor is lacking BUT if you want a fun night out with friends, and not have to pay downtown karaoke prices this is the spot for you. read more

UPDATE: I went again tonight with friends, excited to be singing at my close-to-home karaoke bar, and what do I find?? They've changed their policy and now the room karaoke has a $100 MINIMUM! Yes, they have a minimum of $100 (M-T, Sun) and $150 (Fri and Sat)! I have never heard of a Karaoke place imposing a minimum of essentially 4 hours of singing (rate is still $25/hour). Also, it's not like the minimum is an overall tab minimum, so including whatever you order, drinks, etc. The minimum is JUST the singing. I was so put off by this as my friends and I love just popping in and singing for an hour or two. (By the way tonight is a Sunday night and the entire place was empty, yet, there was still a minimum?) I was appalled and I will certainly not come back again unless I am with a large group and I know that we will stay that long anyway. Ridiculous! In response to the other reviewer: According to the gentleman who worked there, the $100 Minimum applies to JUST the singing and not the overall tab. We were sure to ask that. read more

Confusing charges. When you book a room there is a minimum, if you do not use it when you come back you have credit for your minimum but still a 15 dollars additional minimum. They do not explain and they surprised you with the bill. Will not be back at all. read more

Dark, shady, broken down, smelly. The establishment is questionable just by pulling up to it. It looks like you're in some industrial part of town, with the single elevator going up to the 2nd floor. Several karaoke rooms lay around the perimeter of the bar. Song selection seems to be cheesy and of the Asian dubbed music videos. Horrible and tacky. Bathrooms are disgusting and smelly. But I guess if you come somewhat drunk and with a group of friends, things can be fun. Or maybe not so fun. We were in and out, quick as lightning. read more

Stopped by after a movie at Icon..Having spent time in Korea, I was excited that I had found a norebang. Parked the car and my friend and I happily went to the second floor. I asked about the room and was quoted 150.00 until 2 am. ( it was 10 pm) My friend and I sat at the bar and had a few drinks. The music was a mix of K pop/ Pop/Japanese. I would recommend this place for a large party and thats about it. I did not get a chance to go to the "private " rooms as their prices were steep. Make sure you bring sufficient cash. This place is a bit pricey, 8 or more for dinks. I will try again in the summer time. read more
