The workers there were pretty rude. Not welcoming or friendly at all. Immediately knocking on our door to kick us out the second our time ran out, rushing us to get out of the room immediately. They have no snacks on their menu which isn't a deal breaker but the soju prices are straight up robbery. They also don't offer tap water to their customers because they want to sell you bottled water. read more

Beware-- this place sold me over the prices listed on their website and their claims of "cutting-edge" technology regardless of where you find songs online. All false-- the prices of their website are double was i was quoted when I inquired via email. They gaslit me when I mentioned the discrepancy and told me to check the website. I wish i would have payed attention to this red flag but I chose to book it anyway bc of the proximity. Their cutting edge karaoke tech is limited to only songs from youtube that you screen mirror from your personal device to their TV. If you don't have the ad free version, you basically watching ads a lot of the time in between songs. I wish I would have never wasted money. I'd recommend going anywhere else. read more

Honestly, I had no idea this place existed as it's kind of tucked in the corner of this little strip mall, but really this place is perfect given that it's right next door to a Korean bar as well as a different place that is a Korean BBQ spot. It feels like a one stop shop having these places in the same spot, lol. I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews, because the prices are great, and the rooms are perfect for a night of karaoke! For 1-3 people in a room, it's only $25 per hour plus tax, which I find to be a really great deal. The room is small, but perfect size for 3 people or less. They also have bigger rooms for larger parties of course, but I'm not sure what their pricing is. We got a small Soju bottle and it came out to around $16+ without the tip. It'a obviously a Korean Karaoke catered place which means they have a HUGE list of Korean songs to choose from, but they still have plenty of classic and newer American music, and even lists from other countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam, and many more! I really like how clean this place is, and that the darkness, even in the lobby, sets the mood. They also gave us little covers to put over the microphones which was awesome. I'd 100% return here, as this is my first karaoke experience since moving to Chicago. read more

One of my all time favorite spots in Chicago for karaoke with friends!! They have recently updated their system so now you can link your phone and search karaoke songs on youtube, they make it so easy and fun! The sound system is awesome in every room, you can control the volume and reverb. They have a full bar for those who drink, and you can bring in food. I HIGHLY recommend the popcorn chicken from right next door at Yeowoosai. Also, I recommend booking a room in advance, they book up fast! read more

I celebrated my birthday with my friends here on Friday 5/19. I sent an email to make reservations 3 days ahead, and they were able to accommodate me and my 24 friends! They texted me to confirm the reservation, and I had to put down a $100 deposit which is understandable since we are reserving their big rooms for 2-3 hours. The $100 deposit went towards our final total for the night which was great! Make sure to book early because another group wanted to book the big room also, but U-Star made sure with us first how long we wanted to stay since we made reservations first. The inside was glamorous. There was nice disco lights in the karaoke room that we were in. The sound of the music was great. It was nice that we could connect the system to our phone so there were a lot of choices for songs. As long as the song was on YouTube, you could sing to it! In terms of food, if you get hungry you can stop by Yeowoosai next door. Some of my friends left to get food, and the people in Yeowoosai said they'd bring our order over to us next door once it was ready! It was really nice to have korean popcorn chicken to eat while drinking and singing. For drinks, my boyfriend asked what $100 could get him at the bar and they gave him a bucket of soju. We mostly pre-gamed before coming in so we didn't buy too many drink but they prices were reasonable. read more

Hosted my birthday here and it was a blast! We had a huge private room. Make sure to book early! I booked maybe about a week out and I couldn't extend my time cuz of another big party that had been booked. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They didn't kick us out as soon as our time was up. They let us take our time. Karaoke was updated, room had fans, lots of space. Drinks were a little over priced, but that's a given at any karaoke bar. Will def come back again! read more

Stopped here not long after they had done some renovations, and were pleasantly surprised by the upgraded rooms and look to the place. They have a good selection of music, more updated than some other places in the city. Drinks galore available, and I think you can order food from Yeowoosai next door to munch on while singing your heart out. One downside is the battery operated microphones. During our visit we had to request new batteries twice. Didn't stop us from having a good time, but just a little inconvenience. Parking can get difficult on the weekend, but usually there will be a spot available in the lot or on the street. Definitely worth coming by for a fun night of drinking and singing! read more

My favorite karaoke spot in Chicago! They offer drinks and a wide selection of songs. You can also change inputs on the machine to sing songs from youtube! Sometimes have to wait out guests who are finishing out their session in the room despite making a reservation at a certain time but otherwise the staff is very accommodating. One other con would be that I've had a mic or two run out of power in the middle of a session but staff are quick to replace. read more

There are few karaoke places in the suburbs, and I really wished there was one in downtown. I was really excited to hear that this place opened recently so I went in with few of my friends. This is the best karaoke place in Chicago! Out of all the karaoke places that I've been to, U-Star Karaoke has the best sound systems, remodeled interiors, staffs are so nice and most importantly, UP TO DATE SONGS. I'm a hardcore karaoke girl and I get so frustrated when the karaoke machine's newest songs are from like 6 months ago -___- I was so surprised to find songs that came out recently because the karaoke places in the suburbs don't update their songs regularly. Few other comments: - Karaoke rooms were average cost. They charge you by the # of people per hour. - They also have a full service bar! Love this place! The staff is super friendly and they're able to accommodate both large and small groups of people. The alcohol is reasonably priced including the soju & it's always really clean and not overcrowded. We came in with a large group (15+) close to opening hours & they set up a room that could house all of us super quickly. The staff is all masked & they give you little covers for the mics to keep it hygienic. The song selection is really diverse (English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese all available. It was really amazing place to have fun!! I have been trying to go here for YEARS but it renovate all rooms, bar, and restroom. To celebrate a friend's birthday party, my friend picked the karaoke and it was really good choice. We were almost 20 people but it didn't matter. There was so large room. We were so excited because we had heard so many great things about this place and couldn't wait to try. We sing a bunch of songs, drink soju and beer, dance altogether!! This karaoke bar is honestly the best one I've been to! My friends and I had food and drinks next door since this place opens at 8pm, and we were attended to as soon as we walked in. We were given clear instructions on how to operate the karaoke system, covers for our mics because of Covid, and the owner is so nice!! It was one of my friends' birthdays so he gave us FREE drinks, and even an extra FREE hour of karaoke! He greeted us good night as well when we left :) We had the best time ever. I highly recommend coming to this hidden gem! This place is lit! The rooms are clean and spacey and the people are awesome. Definitely recommend this place. This lounge is clean, classy, spacious, and the service is efficient. it's got everything we need, tables with booths, glassware, a small stage, sanitary microphones. The lighting is like a club and the whole room is very clean. There are even tambourines in the corner (my specialty). The book of music selections has a huge range! Everything from oldies to modern pop. The service is on point, bottled water, drink service. Such a fun place to be! I purchased a Groupon for 1 hour of karoake for a group of 10. We went this evening and were a group of 5. The establishment opens later in the evening but via email agreed to open at 8pm. They were opened on time. The "full bar" is limited but hits the main liquor options. Initially, I ordered a gin and tonic. I happened to notice that I only saw Seagrams on the shelf. I asked if that was the only gin option and was told yes. I canceled my order of course. I haven't drunk "bumpy face" since high school and I'm 43 years old. I ordered Maker's Mark instead. During all of my email reservation correspondence I advised the venue that I had a Groupon and the terms of the Groupon. I inquired about food and was told they had options. Our group inquired about food upon arrival and was told we could order from next door because they didn't have food at the time. The gentleman assisisting us suggested the restaurant next door was Korean but offered "fried chicken". We were a group of 5 Black Americans. I tried not to be offended. We actually did end up ordering the friend chicken dish smh hate to fit their stereo type. But we also ordered the kimchi nachos and fries. Any who, the karoake system is in Korean language so it was tricky to navigate but my friend did master it. The Black American songs were definitely limited. Funny they had a few "ratchet" songs but not many classic Black artists. The drink prices were reasonable. We all kept it very basic as they don't have any actual trained bar tenders. One girl I had to direct to the Maker's Mark. Parking is scarce also. When we were leaving they let 4 people exit and stopped my husband to let him know we owed for karoake. They had not redeemed my Groupon when we checked in. They were about to charge him $94 for 2 1/2 hours of karoake. I went back in and showed them my Groupon. He said we went over our hour. They should have told us that and not waited until the end. He said he didn't want to interrupt our good time. After some back and forth we paid for the additional hour and he removed the 30 minutes. Hands down, the BEST karaoke bar in Chicago. Visited a few times with a big group and we had a blast. Loved having a private karaoke rooms where we could just goof around singing oldies. There is a full bar and snacks were delivered to our rooms. I think you can also order food from the neighboring bar, which is a nice option when you want more than snacks. They have a great selection of songs, wireless microphones, and large TVs. There is a bar area where you can have a drink and play beer pong if you want a little break from singing/dancing shenanigans. Parking wasn't too hard given it was Saturday night. I was able to park in a block. Everyone had such a good time that we were already planning our next visit as we left. Highly recommend this place. read more
