The Koi is an amazing Japanese restaurant in Bellevue. Park at the garage that offers 2 hours free parking. Street parking is very difficult and very strict. Avoid parking in other lots and walking off. This restaurant has a very good lunch special. Lots of food, very good value. Food is yummy. Our server, Jimmy is very attentive and friendly. He welcomed our group and took care of us. He recommended lunch specials we should try. Raw fish is fresh and tasty. Other foods in our bento and gozen were so tasty. Tempura was light and crisp. Highly recommend this place. I have yet to try dinner to check what they offer. Love this place we discovered. Good for families and even big groups, give it a try you will not be disappointed.

We celebrated my wife's birthday here with 4 others, we were 6 altogether. Restaurant's a little off the center of Bellevue. There's covered free parking next to it, otherwise it's street parking. It's a fairly large restaurant, with steps leading to the main dining area. We were seated in the corner. When I mentioned it was my wife's birthday when I made the reservations, our table had a Happy Birthday card and the table top strewn with a few red rose petals. That was a nice touch for sure. I made a cake for her which we brought to the restaurant. Jimmy, the server kept it in the walk in cooler and served it for dessert. (There's a $35 fee for bringing a cake). We each ordered different lunch bento boxes and I had the Chirashi. All the bentos are filled with so much stuff. They're really a great value. All the food were expertly prepared and tasted delicious. My Chirashi had the freshest slices of fish. The bentos came with a lot of "banchan" style little side dishes. The tempura was light and crunchy. We had a terrific time. Jimmy was fabulous, highly engaging and made recommendations when we asked. Service is attentive. The restaurant defended made my wife's birthday truly special.

We usually go to THEKOI Sushi & Sake for lunch when we are craving sushi in downtown Bellevue. The location is convenient, and it is less crowded than I expected for a sushi place in this area. For a party of two, we have always been seated right away with no wait. The street parking in front is free, but those spots are usually taken. There is also a free parking lot right across the street, so parking is still manageable. We usually order the omakase combo because it lets us try different types of sushi, then add a few a la carte items if they are not included. The fish quality is pretty decent compared to other sushi places I have tried, and they also have many roll options. I would not say there is one dish that really stands out. Most of the menu feels like something you can find at other sushi restaurants, but the quality is still good. The main downside is that the food can take quite a while after ordering. The price is also not cheap, but it is not as expensive as higher-end sushi places either. Overall, I would still come back if I am craving sushi in downtown Bellevue. I would not come here expecting something very unique, but it works well when I just want decent sushi in a convenient location.

Shout out to Irvin he was a great server! Checked on us just enough and paced everything well. We ordered crispy rice as an app which was the perfect amount of spicy. We all shared the cherry blossom roll, emperor roll and the bad boy roll. All were different vibes, but all were so good. I feel like the kitchen took a little long for our three rolls, but we were having a good time so it didn't matter much.

The place was comfortable and it has plenty of seatings. The service was excellent and friendly. Once we walked in, they greeted us and guided us to our seat. The food was so good and pretty good portions. The sashimis were fresh and the ratio between rice and sashimi was just right. I definitely love the set. The side dishes that came with the set were yummy and I love the amount of options.

Service was great they explained all the types of fish. Fish was fresh, had the vegetable tempura, sashimi bento box and sushi entree. Made reservations for a Saturday night not super busy but they gave us a nice table. Went there for my nephews birthday they had a card there and also gave us a complementary cake.

I was a little nervous coming here for dinner on Saturday as some reviews mentioned they had to wait to get seated even with reservations. Some also mentioned that the food took awhile to get to their table. Thankfully none of those things happened. Service was amazing. They were kind, attentive, and always available when we needed something. The four stars is because I felt their sushi was not the best I've had. They are moreso middle of the pack, compared to the likes of Scratch in Seattle, Takai by Kashiba, etc. it was good but not amazing, melt in your mouth. I wish they offered nigiri omakase. They have the premium sushi set which was 8 piece chef choice and a tuna roll. Takoyaki for $10 only came with 4. I was a little disappointed since I just went to Tanaka Ramen in Kirkland and they gave me almost 8 pieces for $10. Parking is free in the structure. 2 hours max. You can't get back into the parking lot through the door so you'll have to walk though the entrance to get back to your car.

A big group of my friends and I came to celebrate a couple of birthdays, and this restaurant really made the night special! When we made our reservation, we marked that it was a birthday celebration, and they went all out by setting up real rose petals and a handwritten card on our table. They even included a complimentary dessert for each of the birthday boys, which was such a thoughtful gift. We specifically chose this spot because we were intrigued by the happy hour menu. I ordered the Las Vegas and Bad Boy rolls, and both were excellent with good portions given the price. Everyone else in our group ordered various items from the happy hour and cocktail menus and had nothing but good things to say. Beyond the special birthday touches, the service was truly great. The staff was incredibly patient with our large group and made sure everything ran smoothly. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and the perfect place for a celebration!

Great place to get sushi in Bellevue, only waited a couple minutes on a Saturday evening. Service was OK, they have a large menu, portion size was small, their scallops and the volcano lobster roll are my favorite. The quality is much better at other places like japonesa, Momiji, etc.

We visited TheKoi in Bellevue for the first time a couple weeks ago to celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary. We had previously visited their Tacoma location when we were in the area. Their Bellevue location was nice and street parking wasn't too difficult. We got a 12oz of the Gekkeikan Horin Junmai Daiginjo which was quite tasty and the presentation was nice. We also got chicken karaage which was hot and crispy. The ikura, scallop, and uni don was delicious and very beautifully presented. We also got the sashimi box which was presented nicely. I can't remember the name of the roll that we got - maybe Godzilla Roll - it was also yummy. They also gave us some matcha cheesecake for our celebrations.

To preface, I came for SRW once with my family for lunch and another time with my partner for dinner. 1 thing I really hated about the SRW week menu is that the lunch menu was only available during weekdays but that wasn't specified at all! We came to the restaurant expecting to order from the lunch menu, but were disappointed to see we'd have to order from the dinner menu which was pricier than expected for a lunch. Regardless, the food was end which is why I came back with my partner. Sushi quality is great and the presentation made everything feel very special. I'm not sure if I'd come back outside of SRW, but I did think the poke tacos were very delicious and are worth a try!

Came to THEeKOi for dinner randomly one day and didn't realize it was restaurant week. Lucky surprise. Restaurant week consists of a starter, main, and dessert My brother and I opted to split both the Rainer box and sashimi box on the higher price restaurant week menu and my cousin had a roll and wagyu sliders. The Rainer box and sashimi box were decent. Fish was fresh and tasted great. It also came with miso soup not pictured. I enjoyed the green tea tiramisu at the end. For $50 restaurant week menu, I think it was pretty good. It's a decent amount of food for the money

From the moment I stepped inside to the decor and service to the taste and quality of food, I was impressed the entire night. Most bbq places are laid back and loud, but this place is refined, sophisticated, and everything you'd want for a date night or celebration. Starting off with service, everyone we spoke with was lovely and inviting. We felt welcomed and our server kept checking on us, but wasn't too invasive, so we were able to catch up. We were greeted with hand towels and 3 options for water. Cutlery and tableware were nicely set up and I'm obsessed with their plates! I was blown away by all of the dishes we ordered but my favorites were definitely the Uni Toast, Wagyu Volcano, and honestly all the meats we ordered to grill. They grill your meats for you, so it is a bit awkward because the person stands there until everything is done, but it's cooked to perfection! Highly recommend for a nice date night or celebration dinner.

Lots of sauces and sides to try. Everything was very good. It's amazing how different each cut of meat tastes. I loved the silky egg yolk in the volcano. When I first stepped in the door, I was so glad I brought a light jacket with me even though it was 80 degrees outside. I'm not sure why, but the restaurant had the A/C turned up so high that even the people eating next to us had their puffer coats on. Even with my coat on though, I was still cold. The interior is small and modern. However, the tables and menus were extremely and unpleasantly sticky. The soy sauce bottle was also empty at our table. I ordered the HAPPY HOUR CHIRASHI BOWL ($22 which is half the size and price of the usual $44 Chirashi Bowl off their main menu). It came with two pieces of salmon, two pieces of albacore, two pieces of hamachi, and two pieces of some other tuna (or maybe it was mackerel) plus tamago (egg), and Ikura (salmon roe) on top of their signature purple rice. The presentation was nice, but the fish quality lacked. The albacore in particular was so chewy I had trouble biting through it and so I knew it wasn't fresh; I ate one piece but left the other in the bowl because I didn't want to chance it. Regardless, my stomach regretted it later in the evening and the next day... Service was fine, but we had to waive down the waiter both to order and get our check. When he asked if I wanted a box for my piece of albacore, I told him it was too chewy and he said sorry and walked away. Overall, I was unfortunately disappointed by my experience at Kuro. For a recommended place on Yelp, I expected a better environment and fresh fish. Overall: 2/5 for food, 3/5 for service, 2/5 for atmosphere

The chicken kaarage was not particularly flavorful nor did it have much of a crispy skin. Also tried the Cos-no-politan mocktail which definitely had that grapefruit flavor. For mains, I got the bento and the Super Bad Boy roll off the happy hour menu. The bento box has good portions. The contents change day to day, but I got chicken teriyaki over rice, 3 pieces of a crab roll, 2 pieces of fish nigiri, seaweed salad with some small octopi. Everything in the box was decent except the teriyaki, which was a bit rubbery. As for the Super Bad Boy roll, it's one of their fried rolls, and the frying made the roll taste a bit dry. Reservations were made ~3 weeks in advance for a reasonable dinner time slot on a weekend. We opted for the A La Carte Menu option which gave us the ability to order individual menu items while still offering omakase options. Our party of 4 ordered 2 omakase's (nigiri choice), a nigiri set, a salmon moriawase, and seasonal tempura. I personally ordered the omakase and the experience was well worth it with the sushi quality being extremely high. There were ~7 to 8 courses served throughout the omakase experience including 3 courses involving nigiri and the remaining courses involving a blend of small bites (egg, fish cake, tempura, sashimi, miso soup, dessert egg, hojicha ice cream to name a few). What especially stood out to me was the outstanding service that was displayed throughout the course of the meal. Our server was notably attentive and even went as far as switching the presentation of my nigiri courses after noticing I was left-handed so that I could eat from left to right while normally advising guests to eat from right to left. Every time one of us went to the restroom, our tablecloths were folded by our server and placed back onto the table. Tableware was immediately cleared upon finishing a course and every course in the omakase set came with a detailed description of the food you were about to eat and where in the world it was coming from. In all, the great food makes me want to be back soon, but the high level of service for the night completely made the experience that much more memorable.

Nothing stands out though, so you may not walk away "wowed". I think if this was half the price it'd be 4 or 5 stars, but for what you pay, I don't know if it'd crack the top in the greater Seattle area. Missus says it's on the same level as I love sushi - there's nothing special about this place. The booking and setup: One of the missus' acquaintances scored an OpenTable reservation for three. Getting prime dinner spots here usually requires deliberate timing or alert tracking, so having someone else handle the booking logistics was a welcome relief. The restaurant operates on strict seatings (roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes), situated on the ground floor of the One88 building at 180 Bellevue Way NE. We parked at the pickleball / orange theory parking lot - just steps away from the front door. Parking cost was $6.62 for 2 hours. Arrival & room vibe: We were seated promptly after arriving at 725pm. The background vibe is some kind of jazz track (that has gone on the whole time). Bathrooms are individual gender neutral - two at the back. There's 7 seats at the sushi bar, probably 6 at the drinking bar, and a smattering of sit-down tables. Drinks: just still water. I ordered a Mikan ale for $12. The meal (Omakase progression): 23 courses total. Starters / Cooked courses: right to left - persimmon with shimeji mushroom, tuna belly, some kind of snail. The sashimi: akami from Spain, amberjack, yellowtail / blue snapper. Missus liked the amberjack. One more course before the Nigiri! Chawanmushi - with freshwater eel, shrimp, and shimeji mushrooms. Nigiri highlights: 18 pieces of sushi! - 1st: knifejaw bream from Chiba - chewy, - 2nd: chutoro from Mexico (medium fatty tuna): as expected. - 3rd: shima aji - jack mackerel: missus liked this piece. - 4th: shiroi - squid from Japan. Chewy. Definitely squid. - 5th: iwashi - sardine - from Chiba Japan (missus likes the saltiness). - 6th: king salmon belly with onion on top - fatty and nice. - 7th: hotate (scallop) with Yuzu zest and lemon juice - colder than I expected. - 8th: Nodoguro from Akita Japan - missus favourite Tempura break! Fish, shishito pepper, mushroom. Dip into the salt! The shishito is mega spicy - missus is unfazed, but my mouth is on fire. OK back to sashimi (he's cutting more as we eat tempura) - 9th: akamizuke, marinated in special soy sauce, from Mexico. - 10th: kinmedai - golden eye snapper from Chiba Japan - - 11th: amaebi - sweet shrimp - 3 days aged - chewy and silky? - we also got a tempura version of the head, which was crunchy. - 12th: otoro (fatty tuna) - I'm a sucker for this kind of piece. - 13th: kohada (gizzard shad) - the texture and depth of flavour was good in this one. - 14th: Kisu (Japanese Whiting) - 15th: Katsuo (Skipjack Tuna / Bonito) with scallions on top, - 16th: handroll - Hokkaido uni, ikura, shiso leaf, tuna. Dang uni is good. Miso soup break! It was decent. - 17th: anago (saltwater sea eel) - grilled - 18th: tamago - egg - dessert - with hojicha ice cream Service & pacing: decently fast. It's 8:05pm and we're already into sushi. Jun asks if the sushi is rightsized (rice wise). Overall service is good but I'm sitting in the corner so it's kinda awks for the wait staff to refill water, etc. Jun will wait until you finish your current piece before moving on. We fully finished the last course and paid by 9:10pm. The damage: normally $195/person for the omakase, before drinks (I ordered the ale), tax, and tips. They don't auto add tips. We ended up Venmo'ing the person who got the reservation $290 for us two, so that's $145/person? I guess not the worst. Final verdict: variety but less size? Nothing stood out to either myself or the missus. The upside is that we were all full, though.
