We were driving inland from Falmouth and saw Mashpee Commons in our guide book. We looked them up…read moreon Yelp and decided to make a side trip here on our way to Hyannis We mistakenly assumed that Mashpee Commons was a tiny strip mall. It's actually a west coast like, open air shopping mall, meant to look and feel like a Norman Rockwell painting. Here all of the stores are built out separately. Clearly they went to a lot of trouble to re-create that new england village feel. Except here that new england village is dedicated to shops and stores. This is no Stockbridge Village, but you need to come here for the Clothing stores, household Christmas item and tons more; plus some very cute novelty shoppes as well. Sisters/owners Samantha Leonard and Corrie Mays are incredibly gracious and welcoming. It seems to be taking on the original "vibe" of the store when it opened. Jessica was also incredibly helpful. Samantha and Corrie really seemed interested in honest customer feedback. It was a delight to spend time talking with them! I was even offered a small bottle of Spring Water. What a fabulous touch. If I could give more than five stars, I definitely would!! I posted several photos earlier this evening. Previous: The Plum Porch has been my favorite gift/accessory shop on Cape Cod for countless years. Whenever I am in the area, I try to stop in. The salespeople are friendly and welcoming. They seem to update their merchandise regularly. I especially like the selection of unique baby gifts and jewelry. I never feel rushed in the store and I also don't feel pressured to make a purchase.

When my 11 year-old knocked over a small sign on the floor, she sighed in disbelief and immediately came over to pick it, all the while shooting nasty looks at the kids. When she picked up a bracelet and exclaimed, "Oh, it's a pretty bracelet!" Diane made sure to tell her, "And it's an 80 dollar bracket!" as is it's too expensive for her. When I asked to see the manager, Mark came out and simply gave me his card and said, "I'm sorry." It's a shame a Diane's dislike for children lost the store $300 in sales. Can't be the first time they treated guests like that. Over priced garbage and even worse customer service.

If you don't fall into that category, forget it; you don't exit to them. Shout to the young girl who uttered more than a word though!
