Making my way around the area, trying to find things to decorate my newly acquired child on the cape. And in trying to find (a non existent antiques shop), I saw the "open" sign, and figured "looks cute, what's the worst that can happen? They try to stiff me but I will just browse and walk out" like any other broke tourist. The owners have smiles to kill. There is NO WAY you can walk out without feeling warm and happy. The place just makes you HAPPY. And for a "tourist not trappy" just honest "small town vintage feel" the place is full of really lovely things Cape Cod, or just local. LOVE THIS PLACE. It's dangerous to my wallet. AND on top of that... can't make it in? Update - 12/18/17 The highlight of my day was meeting the new owners (as of October 2017) at the Plum Porch! Sisters/owners Samantha Leonard and Corrie Mays are incredibly gracious and welcoming. It seems to be taking on the original "vibe" of the store when it opened. Jessica was also incredibly helpful. Samantha and Corrie really seemed interested in honest customer feedback. It was a delight to spend time talking with them! I was even offered a small bottle of Spring Water. What a fabulous touch. If I could give more than five stars, I definitely would!! I posted several photos earlier this evening. Previous: The Plum Porch has been my favorite gift/accessory shop on Cape Cod for countless years. Whenever I am in the area, I try to stop in. The salespeople are friendly and welcoming. They seem to update their merchandise regularly. I especially like the selection of unique baby gifts and jewelry. I USED TO love the Plum Porch. I have some very fond memories from when I was a kid and use to buy lots of Webkinz whenever I saved up enough money from doing chores. Last Christmas I brought my girlfriend home to meet my family and we thought we would try and do some Christmas shopping and because of all the memories I had I wanted to show her the Plum Porch. After a while we found a couple things, bought them and went back to the car. When my girlfriend looked at her receipt the total seemed a little high. She had bought something small like a keychain and then a super small tin of mints. The total was almost 20 dollars. We realized that 20 dollars for mints and a keychain was way more than we could afford being college students that made minimum wage so we went right back in to return them. They informed us that they didn't do any returns and motioned to a piece if paper with super small writing that I couldn't read that said something about their no return policy. I'm 23 years old with 20/20 vision and I couldn't read the paper so that seemed pretty dumb. I told them they were were just in literally 30 seconds ago and that we couldn't afford a 2 inch tin if mints for 14 dollars or whatever it was but they said there was nothing they could do. They were super rude about the whole thing and unfortunately a place where I had lots of awesome childhood memories is no longer a place that I will every go again. This was a whole year ago and it bothers me every time I drive by that they were so rude and inconsiderate so I felt like writing a review was a good way to let people know. read more

This is an adorable store that I just can't stay away from since I discovered it! They have a wide variety of things to buy from flip flops and fabulous beach bags to delicate silver jewelry, children's gifts and home decor. Every time I go I find something else I need. I contacted the Plum Porch by Facebook message yesterday morning. We are in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. We're having a very small baby sprinkle for a family member, and I really wanted something special for her. I gave the owner a few ideas about what I was looking for. She called me and together we put together a beautiful gift bag including an adorable wubby, a baby blanket and lotion for mom. I paid over the phone, she wrapped it and I picked it up at the store. This is a great store to have around the corner from home when you need last-minute gifts! Love the cute gift-wrapping too. Only problem is that the products haven't changed much at all in the 6-8 years they've been in business. I know exactly what I'll find on each shelf, which means I don't stop in if that's not what I'm looking for. Would be better to keep finding unique items and changing it up, rather than your standard Mariposa-type standards. read more

This place has really gone downhill with the change in ownership. The store now only returns for store credit - which would be fine if there was anything worth buying. The woman who claimed to be the owner was too busy flirting with men who came in to ring anyone up (which was just me as I was the only one shopping in the store). Definitely will not be returning, which is a shame because it used to be a staple of the area. read more

While the stuff they have is cute, I was blown away by the lack of professionalism by the owner. I've spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars there over the years and was treated very disrespectfully because of exchanging a few broken pieces of jewelry. Unfortunately there are other instances of the owner mistreating folks, which is very disappointing. I hope they sell it soon so the new owner has a better sense of how to treat loyal customers! read more
