It's actually a west coast like, open air shopping mall, meant to look and feel like a Norman Rockwell painting. Here all of the stores are built out separately. Clearly they went to a lot of trouble to re-create that new england village feel. Except here that new england village is dedicated to shops and stores. This is no Stockbridge Village, but you need to come here for the Clothing stores, household Christmas item and tons more; plus some very cute novelty shoppes as well. We were hoping she would grow into it in the summer, but that was not the case. Unaware of the exchange policy (I honestly didn't even think of asking), I went to the store today to exchange for a new fall/winter outfit. The owner treated me terribly, saying that the outfit was bought "ages" ago and didn't understand why I couldn't have returned it in the summer. She said she could not accept the return bc it is a different season now and I should know better because she is a small business owner. She loudly scolded me while in front of another patron. I was embarrassed and shocked to be treated so poorly. She finally agreed to a full exchange of the outfit after I told her I was an out of towner and did not have a chance to travel an hour to the store until then, but again scolded me saying next time I should mail it back if I needed to return or exchange. She did note that she shouldn't be giving me a full refund, but only a half refund because she has to sell it at half price now. Now I completely prefer to shop and support small local businesses, but because of her incredibly rude behavior to me, I will never shop there again. Nor will I recommend this shop. I would have completely understood and wouldn't be writing this if the owner had been nicer explaining everything to me, but her harsh and condescending tone and the way she went about this is unacceptable for treating a new potential customer.
