Hallmark type store with lots of Cape Cod and beach themed gifts. A great spot if you are looking for such an item.

This place is great. When you walk through the doors it is "magical" It is pricey though. I do wish they would lower there prices a bit.

Falmouth House of Flowers - beautiful arrangement

    Falmouth House of Flowers

Hi. The flower shop worker/owner was very helpful when I walked into the House of Flowers shop!…read more.. She offered a selection to fill the bouquet I said that I wanted and wished to buy. We were very lucky that the shop had sunflowers in stock and also got to buy a great, fitting flower bouquet set holder for the cemetery bouquet flowers we bought. Thanks so much!

I had called this florist today listed as Allens house of flowers in the directory but they told me…read moreit was one in the same and had a recent name change. Regardless they were the only local florist open today after the snow storm to place an order with. I needed to order a sympathy basket for a visitation at a local funeral home same day and was worried that I could not get it done last minute. When I called I spoke to the designer who assured me she could assist me in taking the order and getting it delivered within the next few hours before the visitation started. I was a little open ended with my order giving them some freedom to create something nice and appropriate. Once we established a budget that I was comfortable with I told her the colors and a brief idea of what I was looking for. I went to the service this evening there were a lot of flowers there and I found my order after reading a few card messages. I was very pleased with the arrangement that was made and delivered for me. It met and exceeded my expectations and looked great for the value I paid. I'm glad I was able to write this good review and recommend them going forward. I typically do not order flowers too often but will use them again when I need to. Thank you for helping me out last minute today. You've got a new customer now.

    Falmouth Art Market

    Falmouth Art Market

Beautiful glass artwork shines in the sun, delicate scarves flow in the wind…read more.. The Falmouth Art Market, set along the edge of Gus Canty Community Center's parking lot near Main Street, allows visitors to see well-crafted, handmade pieces up close and to speak one-on-one with talented local artists. Driving past to the farmers market at the Marine Park down a street near this lot, I saw the tents of this market and made a point to go back. When I arrived, I saw that I wanted to stop at each of the twenty or so vendors. I decided my strategy would be to start at one end and work my way down the line. (Very tactful, if I do say so myself.) At each tent, I saw the remarkable work of each vendor--telling them so, too--and spoke with each, hearing the passion and joy as he or she spoke. Each was incredibly proud of his or her work. Many said they would not put out their work if they did not truly love it. I saw everything from scarves, to handblown glass jewelry, to seaglass artwork, to woodwork, to paintings, to pottery. (There was even an artist at one end painting right there for all to look on while he did so!!) I purchased a colorful and one-of-a-kind glass pendant from one artist who depicted how she layered the different colors of glass as she blowed it by hand; a photo that looks like a painting of a beach scene with footprints in the sand toward a mist in the back of the scene from another artist; several unique and modern prints, one of a sailboat and of the Falmouth Road Race, from an artist from a local gallery; a framed glass piece with a sand dollar floating in the center of glass, surrounded by pebbles and seaglass pieces from another artist. Each piece available at this market is truly unique and unlike anything you will ever see. I applaud these artists, their talents and their hard work. It is evident that these artists know what they are doing in their crafts, and they are all so personable when you meet with them. I really enjoyed my time at this market!! This market runs every Thursday from noon to 6pm, from mid-June to early September. It is set up perfectly and conveniently with the farmers market, and you get a taste (literally with the farmers market) of different vendors from the area in all areas--from art to edibles. It is definitely something to check out if you are looking for homewares or a gift for a family member or friend. You will undoubtedly find something you will love, and you will enjoy speaking with and supporting local talent. Be sure to bring cash, as many vendors only accept that, though some may take credit cards. The Falmouth Art Market showcases outstanding work from local artists, each of whom is very friendly and kind and shows a true love for his or her craft. If you want to see passion and to support local talent, then visit this market!!
