The store is listed as open until 9, but we went in at 8:15 we were turned around. I called the day before too to confirm that they were open until 9 and said that we planned to go in later but that didn't seem to matter. I brought my 20 yr old special needs grandson to Color Me Mine to create a plate for himself. Jamie was so attentive to his needs , gently guiding him through the project,while listening to what he had in mind. She kindly asked about his favorite music , offering to play it for him, as he painted a beach sunset on his plate. He was pretty happy with his work and is talking about when we can pick up his fired plate and make something else.Her studio is immaculate and well stocked with many items to personalize and also has a great selection of glaze colors. I called ahead of time to see the latest my children could get into paint and then when I got to the store they told me that they were closed. Giving customers false information and getting my children's hope up is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. For Father's Day we stopped in at Color Me Mine to make some mugs as gifts. Since this was our first time paining here as well as taking our newborn out, we didn't know what to expect, but the staff here was incredibly polite and patient. We ended up spending over two hours here trying to get our items just right at the same time we were taking care of a fussy baby. The staff here seemed available for any questions we had but were a little absent when it came to refilling our paint. That minor critique aside, the items came our great and the return time on receiving the items was less than a week. Overall, we were impressed by this store and enjoyed the fact that the items were reasonable priced. read more

I made a reservation for myself and a friend totaling $30 for an event. Unfortunately, due to my kids becoming sick I had to cancel. When I called I was told that I could come in for a refund, but they would not give a refund over the phone. I specifically asked if it would be ok to come in one week later for the refund since I live an hour away and she said that was fine. One week later I call to confirm that I will be coming in for the refund and now I am told they do not give refunds. Had I known that when I canceled I would have given the tickets away to friends so the money wouldn't be wasted. If your employee made a mistake by telling me a refund can be issued you should uphold what she said as she is representing your business. I hope it is worth the $30 to take from a customer and not even provide them with a service. read more

Had an unpleasant experience today. Have gone here all my childhood and had nothing but good, happy memories. Came back a bit older to do a board. I was super excited for it but my mood was ruined when I got there. The owner was awful. She spoke down to me and did not even try to hide her irritation. They are SUPER cheap with their paint. I wanted my color to be darker (so I wanted more paint to do an extra coat) she told me adding more wouldn't do anything... She finally gave me more after rolling her eyes and giving me attitude. To her surprise more coats makes it darker, like I knew it would. She would go from being so rude to being fake and pleasant as new customer walked through the doors. Are you vacationing in the area and looking for something fun to do with your kids? Well, don't bother trying this place. It is expensive, almost never open, and completely full of itself. Along with paying far too much for your item and only getting 4 colors of paint, unless you are here for over three weeks you will also have to pay to have your items shipped to you. Attitude is everything....we stopped in here for a way to keep the kids happy for a couple hours. The first issue I had is the fact that the person knew we were from out of town but didn't ask how long - so we didn't realize they had a 1 week delay on the kiln - the intent was to ship to us (but we didn't even learn this until we finished our pieces) - throughout the time we painted we had to ask the person for more paint each time we went through 1 Oz of paint - which would have been fine, but each time we asked we were greeted with attitude like we were an inconvenience...keep in mind the person working had nothing happening - it was interrupting her social conversation. Luckily, 6 of the 7 pieces we made were finished in time and we went to pick them up - but one piece wasn't done. We were told it might be ready tomorrow - but no guarantees. I tried to verify that it would be possible to get it tomorrow ( before we leave Mashpee) and the worker snapped at me "the kitten isn't ready yet!" with frustration. Not cool. To conclude our experience, we planned to participate in a board night that the employee advertised to us for this week - but when we called to make a reservation- we were informed we needed to call a month prior to get our supplies in time...so why did the worker tell us about it? read more

My kids painted some pottery and they threw it out. We have been coming here for years and picking up the pottery on our next visit. Sometimes that has been several months later but we haven't had a problem. This time they threw it out. And the staff who worked there were rude about it, with my kids right there. The owner needs a better system. You should track the work better and call people before throwing out their work. They said the receipt says the work will only be held for three weeks but you should tell people that too. read more

Looking for something to do with the kids as Hurricane Arthur made it's way up the coast and this interested all of the kids. First time here but it would have been nice to know of the studio fee before we sat down to paint. We overheard them tell another family about 20 minutes after starting our painting. Prices seemed high once you add in the studio fee. Staff fills the paints but doesn't take into consideration the size of the piece and we were constantly asking for more paint which just wasted time. The colors were also not marked on the tray so you had no idea what color each one was. My biggest issue was how they handled the busy day. They were keeping a wait list and would call when a table was ready. What they failed to tell one family was that if you missed their call they would give up your seat even if they told you it would be about an hour and you returned within that time frame. There were at least two unhappy groups and the manager/owner (not sure which) got very defensive and then played the victim after they left in front of the other customers. After hearing one employee lie when she assured her manager that she was telling customers that they would call once and move to the next name on the wait list I decided this would be the first and last time we visited. read more

It was super fun to paint with the family. Yet it was incredibly expensive. We don't live in Falmouth but we visit every once in a while. We came back after a few months and they informed us that they had thrown all of our pieces away. It was $200 down the drain. The worst part is they didn't give us our money back. When the women checked to see if she still had the pottery she was not accurate when flipping through the papers. We were all very disappointed. read more

So, I will start by saying I have been to quite a few pottery places around the country. I move a lot so we use this kind of thing as a family outing. That being said..the whole time I was at the mashpee, ma location, I was getting an eye full of the butt cheeks of the two girls working there. Their shorts were entirely too short for a business setting as they had to pull them out of their butts each time they got up and while walking around. One sitting at the table across from us the whole time when not assisting had her leg up on the chair and i was appalled. This is a family place I thought. That really was the breaker for me to not come back here. But in addition to that, you as the customer are not allowed to refresh your paint colors as needed, you have to wait for the girls working there to get it for you so you can just imagine how much butt cheeks I ended up having to deal with. We had to wait a while after sitting with our projects for them to provide the paint as well. So, sadly, as we just moved here and I was excited to have a painting pottery place nearby, we will not be returning. It was also the most expensive one I have been to. read more

We held our daughter's birthday party here. There is no designated party space. They set up our party table in front of the shelving where other families/children were trying to look for items to paint, so we were constantly bumped and hit. It was utter chaos, the staff offered little to no help, and one was downright snotty. The brochure said a "designated staff member" would be there to assist - not true. They sat at the counter and gossiped among themselves. They did not know how to handle children either - no encouragement or friendliness, just bad attitudes. At the beginning of the party, a paint cup was knocked over on the table and the staff member said to just use the paint off the table. No clean-up assistance was offered. There was nowhere to hang coats. We were given one small table for gifts, cake, water, and party favors. We couldn't have another table because someone else "might" need it. The brochure also said a custom handprint plate was included. Somehow, the staff forgot. They told us we were welcome to come back at another time for the plate - great. They clearly are not geared to birthday parties at this location. Go to the Mashpee Art Bar - we had a far better party there the previous year. read more

I was very disappointed with the latest event I attended there. I, along with 5 others went to Color Me Mine in Mashpee Commons to attend their Christmas Tree Panting event. It cost $85.00 for a 14" ceramic tree. I figured this meant when we went to pick up the final product the lighting device would be connected and ready to go but that was not the case. When I got home and tried to assemble the lighting device, I found that NONE of the pegs meant to be used for Christmas lights fit in the holes. The small pegs continue to fall out anytime there is a slight movement near the tree. Try explaining to small children that the colorful little pegs are NOT candy. Not only is it a rip off, but they should warn you that there lighting device is a choking hazard for small children. Shame on you Color Me Mine. I will not be sending anymore business your way. read more

I will never return to this place. The owner is very rude. She needs to learn how to speak to paying customers. I waited almost two hours to get in to paint with a five year old, a four monthold and a six month old. I was there to get the babies handsand feet printed for the first time. I brought my husbandto hold one child and my mother to hold the other. Because she doesn't have enogh chairs to accommodate hercustomers she rudly told my husband and mother to get up. When I tried to speak to her she became condasending and had theballs to push me with her elbow.then rudly told me to get out she's lucky I didn't call the police for assault. I've been there many times and this isn't the first time she was rude. But this is the last, I will never return to this establiahment and promise to pass this story within the huge community that I live in cape cod. I've been to the Mashpee Commons, MA location a few times and really love the concept. My rating is about the "we'll finish it for you" promotion. For $15 they offer to complete a piece so that you can take a child's hand or foot print and they will do the rest! Sounds like a great idea for a busy mom who would like a keepsake. The pieces they have on display are BEAUTIFUL so I decided to pay the money to have my piece-child's footprint- completed. I picked the colors and chose a pattern I liked from another piece on display. It was simple but pretty and I asked to have something written on the plate as well. When I picked up the piece I was HORRIFIED. It looked like a toddler completed my piece. The writing was a mess, the border was all uneven. It was so ugly and nothing like all the gorgeous pieces they have on display. I honestly could have done a better job if I had stayed 15 minutes with a squirming baby on my lap and painted it myself. I really don't know how they can show one product as the advertisement and then do such a terrible job of recreating the exact same thing when ordered. Go there and have fun but DO NOT expect them to do a nice job if you have them finishing the piece for you read more
