He recovered the files, installed a new hard drive, refreshed the operating system, and more - all for an affordable price. I was able to print out the document, have it notarized, and mail it just a day after the crash thanks to Jarvis. He is knowledgeable, reliable, friendly, and really comes through for his customers. Jarvis is my go-to guy for all computer-related matters from now on.

After he discovered it needed a new drive, (three days after I gave it to him), he then kept it and my backup drive for almost two weeks. I ended up purchasing a new laptop online instead of repairing the older one. He did save most of the data on the old drive for me, and I appreciated that. He also charged me almost nothing for his services, but I still wasn't happy with the whole process. Communicating with him is a logistical nightmare. Everything goes through his convoluted communication system that is far more complicated than it needs to be, especially for a single, simple, old customer like me. Let me call you, or text you, and get a real person answer quickly. Don't make me go through a website, or use some online service for a simple question. Also, he does not have a store front or location you can visit, which is not a problem, but arranging to meet with him somewhere always seemed to be on his terms, and that's not convenient for the customer (not this customer anyway).

After installation and payment their customer care is doesn't exist. I…read moreemailed Alan Penger at least three times asking for the signs that say the house is being monitored professionally by Hi-Tech. He said he would. However, even after three emails and his promise to get the signs installed I never got the signs. I even offered to install them if he would just drop them by the house. How much effort does it take to drop off some signs in a small town like Brookings? So of course if I cancel service the contract is written entirely to the benefit of the company and not the consumer. Parts of the contract the company didn't sign so I don't know how valid the contract is as my signature is the only one on the document. Anyway, I found Hi-Tech to be unprofessional with respect to post installation customer care. Their customer care was excellent prior to getting my payment. After payment, not so much. Their ads show a very nice security signs. Since they use this sign for marketing purposes consumers will assume they will get these signs to deter robbers and such.

we moved to brookings several years ago and after our neighbor had a security system installed at…read morehis home, we thought it might be a good idea to follow his lead. we contacted alan, who came out and spoke to us about the benefits of his system. we agreed to have five outside cameras plus one inside camera with motion detector installed. there were a few minor problems with door sensors which were repaired within 24 hours of notification. the 24-hour monitoring works very well. the only issue we've had is on our back deck, which at night is in total darkness - hi-tech has replaced the camera located there four times in an effort to improve the camera performance to little avail. alan has been responsive and tried his best to better the situation. it is obvious to us that as with any camera, they do not perform well in total darkness. overall, we are very satisfied with our security system.
