First repairman comes out to diagnose the problem with washer creates an invoice and charges me. 7-8 weeks later with zero communication I reached out to get status, 'It's due here today'. Then nothing. A week later a different repairman shows up without an appointment, he installs 1 of the 3 parts and says the other 2 are unnecessary. I tried contacting the store to get a refund, both phone numbers went to voice mail that was not set up, was unable to leave a message. A salesperson calls me back based on caller ID, says he will get back with me on the refund. 3 work days later I am still waiting. Worst service ever! This place is very hard to get ahold of. I don't appreciate the lady Nicole who does the scheduling for service. Very rude and very little information. Also, the fee to come out should be applied to work if can be repaired. Only because I see this as a scam. In the meantime, there was a huge delay in the entire process and we did not return for approximately two months. We figured to start the entire process again. When we got our cabinets and countertops ordered, I went back to Darrell and we picked up right where we left off, ordered and paid for the appliances, and it was the friendliest and easiest part of the entire remodel. I have every appliance I own is Kenmore. Always by all of our appliances from Marshall . Have always been happy with them. I am not so happy right now. I have a sears warenty and my washer quit working. Chad came out and worked very hard to figure out what was wrong and determined it was not going to be able to be repaired. So I contacted Cinch to replace my washer, they wanted all the info from South Coast I have contacted South Coast Appliance a few times for help to get all the info to cinch. Nothing is happening. This review involves a fire extinguisher, so you will want to go ahead and read. We have had two experiences with SCA. The first was fantastic. The machines were delivered and lived until the washer gaskets gave way and were leaking all over the floor. Pretty understandable since they were about 40 years old and getting parts replaced would be darn near impossible. So we decided to go back and get a new set. The new set was installed and didn't work immediately. We called and after a few weeks of back-and-forth (that's right, I said WEEKS) they FINALLY came out and brought the current set. But because they were more expensive, I had to fork over more money even though I had now wasted money on laundromats. I wasn't thrilled. I called the next day after install because the machine was squeaking. I texted the technician, and even sent a message through messenger. No one got back to me. I tried the NEXT 30 DAYS to get someone to help me with the squeak, and I was ignored. I have screen shots to prove all of this. Since I decided to live with the "squeak" we went another 7 months without too many problems until 05/20/22. Then the squeak became a squeak-boom. Next thing I knew, the house was filled with burning rubber smoke. I unplugged the machine and my husband grabbed the extinguisher. We were able to get the small fire out. But could you imagine if we had left to go to the beach? We would have lost everything! I called SCA and told them what had happened. She was lackadaisical at best. She said she would let the owner know, but I have not heard one word yet. You would think with there being a fire involved with something they sold, there would be a bit of urgency, ESPECIALLY since I offered to pay for the person to come out (the $97.00 "fee"). Needless to say, I bought my own belt and I plan to get it fixed myself. But I will warn others to think twice before buying from these guys. If you do buy from them, PLEASE make sure they have replaced all gaskets, belts, and removed any rust. read more

I purchased a washer. The guy told me every appliance is tested blah blah. It would not work, so they sent Jesse to look at it. He said the machine was not programmed and stressed he was not the guy who tested appliances. I took back the washer and the guy told me I needed a Mgr to get a refund, but he refused to call the mgr. I got real loud and insisted he give me a refund immediately. He finally relented and processed the refund. I checked my acct the next day and found out the refund had not gone thru. This all happened yesterday. Tomorrow is going to be hell for them. Sooooo... we've been in to the sales floor a few times now. Selection is limited but since it's primarily stocked with used appliances, that's understandable, except that some seem quite old. Unfortunately, of the used selections on the floor, clean is not a description that can be applied. Refrigerators that still have crumbs and food residue inside and ranges that look like they were set to self-clean but were never wiped out. Not to mention rusty racks and missing vent covers. We've seen appliances at yard sales in better condition. Their new selections are all very expensive at high end pricing and overpriced for what they actually are. To top it all off, of the 3 times we've been inside the store, each time no less than 10 minutes, we've only ever seen an employee once and they weren't of particular help that day. Not sure exactly what this place is in the business of but i don't think it's appliances. read more

My fridge needed a new seal around the door it took them 2 weeks after I called them to find out why they didn't get back to me they finally came out put the seal on the door it's the wrong one now my fridge is worse condition then before. I have a new dryer that is broken & under warranty. South Coast said it would be 10 days before they could come out, so I took it to them. The repair person said it wouldn't act up & gave it back. Got home & it worked for a month. The service person came to my house while it was acting up & did no testing & made a sophisticated wild as guess & ordered a part. The parts in but he said I'll have to call back another time for an appointment. Their service person has a bad attitude as soon as he steps out of his car & addresses you by grunting & complaining about other customers. I can't wait to be done with this business.. read more

I have been trying to contact the owner for two days to get my$2700.00 refunded. He has not returned any of my calls, and as far as I can tell he's dodging me. Please don't go here to shop. Home Depot in Crescent City will deliver for free ($100.00 at this place) and will not charge Cal. tax. My husband and I purchased a used Whirlpool brand washer and dryer. We brought both of them home and installed them. The washer operated fine, but the dryer was another story. The dryer would not heat at all. I wasted hours of time and electricity because I was sold a lemon. After multiple attempts of calling to obtain service, no one picks up the phone. It goes straight to a "beep" tone. After finally getting into contact with the receptionist there, we were sent a technician. He came to diagnose the problem and notified us that it was a burnt out fuse that needed to be replaced. He also said that he would obtain the part and come by when he receives it. Fair enough. My husband and I waited two days for the receptionist to contact us for the technician to come back and get the part. She stated that the technician would come by the next day between 12- 2pm. The next day came around and the technician --which apparently doesn't know how to use a phone, or even have the courtesy to notify us that he wasn't going to show up at all. I wasted a whole afternoon hoping this guy would show up to fix the dryer "fuse" and he didn't even show up at all. The next day, he shows up unannounced thinking we wouldn't remember the fact that he didn't show up at all. Fixes the "fuse" and leaves. I went to do a load of laundry, and low and behold, the dryer STILL doesn't heat. At this point, I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed that I was lied to. The "owner" of this company claims that these used appliances are "re-manufactured" when the appliances are "re-furbished" or "re-conditioned." Two VERY different claims. I was under the impression, that the appliance was sent back to the manufacturer and the issue it had was resolved back to factory conditions.The "30 day warranty" covers the bare minimum of a repair and they could care less if it keeps breaking down. The "technician" doesn't even have the sense to diagnose the WHOLE problem, and just tries to get away with the bare minimum, so the warranty runs out, and YOU'RE now SOL and stuck with the problem. After being completely fed up and done with how this unethical business operates, My husband and I had to rent a U-haul (80 dollar expense out of our own pocket because we don't own a truck) and physically showed up at the store with the dryer. We pulled up to the entrance and the owner, of course, goes running to hide in the back. They didn't want to deal with us due to the fact that they are very in the wrong. Luckily, we were refunded the money we spent on the dryer. Not the whole amount though- refunded 175 when we paid 187.50. Over the course of three weeks that we owned this dryer, it never did what a dryer is intended to do-- DRY clothes. The "30 day warranty" they claim to have is a complete joke. We had a technician come twice and he STILL couldn't repair it. You're better off going to YouTube to solve the problem yourself. I will NEVER purchase again from this company. If you took the time to read my review, you have been warned. If its too good to be true, it IS. The old saying "cheap is expensive" holds true. You're better off at a laundry mat, hand washing, and hanging your clothes to dry than to ever go through the hassle this company gives you to make a quick buck off of the junk they're selling. read more

Back in September I bought an apartment size refrigerator from South Coast Appliance. It wasn't my primary refrigerator, it was just used for drinks. It was a used refrigerator and came with a 30 warranty. In mid December (3 months later) the Refrigerator died. I called South Coast and told them about the situation. They were very nice and said they would send out a repair person. A couple of days later Jesse showed up and said it appears to need the brain (PC Board) that controls the functions. He said he would have to order the part and come back when it arrives. About a week later Jesse came back out and put in the new PC board at no charge. The refrigerator seemed to work for about 2 days and then died again. I called South Coast Appliance again and got a hold of the owner, Marshall. I Told him about the situation and he said I guess we had better swap it out for another one. He said he would see if he could find one similar to the one I have and get back to me. After a few days it was determined that he was not able to find a similar used one so it was suggested that he look for a new one and I would pay the difference from the one I bought from them and the new one. A few days later he told me he found a new one in Medford and was going to be over there anyway and would pick it up if that was agreeable with me. Marshall picked it up and it was swapped out with the new one. I paid the difference of $139.00 and got a new refrigerator. From what I can tell the new refrigerator is even a better make and model than my last one and it has a stainless steel door. My wife and I are very pleased with the results. read more

HORRIBLE customer service, they never call you back. they are always understaffed, they have a couple of technicians, but the receptionist said "they don't trust them doing the jobs" THEN WHY HIRE THEM! I bought a used washer and dryer from them 7 years ago. The dryer broke last year and I replaced it with one I was given by a friend. The washer finally gave out last week and I plan to purchase another washer from them this weekend. If they hold out just half as long as the last one did I'll be a very happy camper. I really hate to leave a bad review for a business in this town but after what I experienced I have to beware people of this company. So I bought an appliance from them got it delivered tried to use it and it was broken..they were very nice and fast about sending someone out at no charge to fix it great! The problrm I have is that I walked into the business waited about 20 mins in the front room listening to the owner yelling at his employees well ok people lose their temper I get it...So after hearing this I tried calling the store and knocking on the door several times but he obviously could not hear anything due to his yelling...he then went on to bad mouth his customers and talk horribly about them...Finally I drove around the back and was able to get some help....Experience number two just blew my mind ..so we bought a house with a home warranty and his store is contracted with the home warranty place my stove was broken ...so there is a $75 charge for them to come fix the appliance... the tech comes out says we need a new heating element in our stove he would get parts and be back in as soon as he got the parts we paid the $75 on 8/1 no one ever came back out even after calling several times!!! We called the home warranty place they set us up with a new company and we explained that south coast had taken our check and cashed it never did the work so something needed to be done!! Well upon the home warranty place checking with south coast they lied and said they had never been to our house REALLY!!!!! So now we have printed out bank statements proving they cashed the check (thank god we paid check) well just see what happens now but how dare these con artists! read more

I had to wait for the right guy (the first guy diagnosed the problem, but only PART of it. The next guy solved the REAL problem (WHY my belts were burning out so quickly) and offered to do the fix on my upstairs dryer without an additional service call, so I felt I was given good service, even though it didn't happen fast. I do have TWO dryers, so it was fine that it took awhile to get the job done. I would recommend this company, but ask for an experienced technician! read more
