I am not mad not mad at that decision. The fish were what seemed like two whole filets with a beer batter that would knock your Sox off. Tender fish with a crispy batter. The batter on the onion rings was thick and crispy. SO GOOD!! The service was good super nice. You walk up to the counter and order. And I'm really not a fan of this for the fact, I tip small here. Thats just me. I want to give bigger but you didn't do anything yet. Give me some good customer service and I will give you a ble$$ing. Ambiance was ok. Nothing fancy but your coming here I think, for the hang, beer and food. Definitely check out this place. The food and beer were on point!! SO GOOD!!

The food was delicious but the service is very slow (probably because they make each meal as the order comes in). The dining space is very small but for a little hole in the wall restaurant it worked. I ordered a water and never received it. We also ordered coleslaw and didn't receive that either. I had to wait in line to ask for it. The staff were all very friendly. Maybe they just need to hire more help. I'm not sure we would make the trip out to Hughson again for their fish and chips but the food was really good.

The fish taco was ginormous with grilled fish and two tortillas. The fried fish was nicely battered and tender. The chicken wings were solid -- nothing to write home about, just basic but a solid option if you're not into fish (or want fries, which is why we got them). The service is great, friendly staff!

They were generous with the tarter sauce and vinegar, which I appreciated, but I personally didn't love the taste of the tarter sauce. It had maybe carrots or something in it and I wish it were more tangy. It gets the job done but I might make my own next time. I also got a cup of clam chowder. It was tasty but being from SF I've had much better chowder elsewhere. I would skip this next time. The stand out here was the service I got from Javi. He took my phone order and was polite and courteous without "doing too much." He was the one to also ring me up and hand me my order and he was, again, chill but also super nice. He did a great job. It would be unfair to not share the low point of my experience, even though I hate putting people on blast. While I was picking up my order, there were two female employees standing behind Javi behind the register. One of the ladies was braiding the other ones hair. In food service it's really important not to touch your hair - you should be ready to work before you arrive, or head to the bathroom to take care of any grooming. In the moment I just tried to shrug it off but then the lady braiding the hair sprayed some kind of hair product to finish things off, and I later realized my food was sitting on the counter right next to them. It really disturbed me how they didn't see their behavior as inappropriate and it didn't bother them at all that I was being rung up while they were doing this. I'm a little torn about whether or not I would return. Again, the service from Javi was great and the fish and chips were definitely good - no complaints there. However I didn't love everything I got with my meal and I'm not sure how seriously they take cleanliness given the employees doing their hair in the front.

Had it on Saturday after a hike and wish I'd tried it sooner! Carpo's makes my favorite fish and chips in the area, and Scrumptious is a close second. They use a unique batter, and the fish inside is moist and delicious. I usually pass on fries (chips), but these were amazing. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The curry ketchup is so good, too. The line to order moves quickly and we didn't wait very long for our food - great service at the Humble Sea location. There's plenty of seating in the beer garden, though it can get a bit crowded in the afternoons.

The breading was done really well, crispy in every bite without feeling greasy. The potato wedges were also surprisingly good. I'm usually not a fan of thicker fries because they can end up soft or soggy, but these were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. We also ordered the clam chowder and a side of mushy peas. The chowder unfortunately missed the mark for us and felt pretty bland compared to the rest of the meal. The mushy peas... well, let's just say they had a smell that could clear a small room. Somehow though, our baby loved them, so maybe I just don't have a refined mushy pea palate yet.

Let's Make This O-fish-al…read more One of three locally-owned fish restaurants that are renowned for their fish and chips and a bevy of fresh seafood. The Good: * Great service by the young gentleman working on 3/1 around noon. * Private shared lot with plenty of spaces. * Beers on tap and for a VERY reasonable price. I mean, yeah, they're macro brews, but for $6?? Sheesh... * Carissa's salmon was cooked almost perfectly. She thought it might've been a touch dry, but nothing egregious. * My Crab Salad Sandwich was delicious and filled with fresh crab with very little to no filler. * If you like garlic, then I highly recommend the 50¢ upgrade for them. Just don't expect any kisses afterward. :( * Great prices, especially on the kids' meals that were less than $10. The Meh: * Be aware some of their portions might be gigantic. One of the kids wanted linguine, and the waiter recommended the "half order," and even that was plenty of pasta for at least two adults. The Ugly: * I got nothing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Conclusion: Family-friendly spot for both the ambiance and being easy on the wallet--and that's not to mention the food is pretty good, too! **Their other two locations are in DTSJ and Cupertino
