I've been a loyal customer for years & am still grateful to have a restaurant that still packs their plates the way they do. Prices are good for example $12 for 2 entree plate! Their egg flower soup or cream cheese wontons are yummy too! Parking is easy & lines don't take long if there is any.

This Chinese take out place has been around for over 10 years and it holds to many people in the community. It's in the plaza where there's a 7-11 and across the street from Wall Mart. Over the years, it has gotten slowly better but the OG workers are gone and new people are here. What has change are the prices but it's still kind of affordable. All combos is choice of fried rice/ chow Mein or half and half Order #1 combo with chow Mein and beef and broccoli. It still holds up when I first try this in 2009.

Just as most Chinese scoop restaurants, the large portions make up for the price because you usually get two meals out of it. The Kung Pao Chicken and Curry Chicken were flavorful with a mild spice level - good for those that do not eat extremely spicy foods. The Black Pepper Chicken was also flavorful. My least favorite, however, was the BBQ Pork because it is sliced too thin - so the meat is noticeably dried out. It is still flavorful, but there are other Chinese scoops locally that make it better. Overall, a good Wok Experience.

A big two item portion .

The WOK Experience was a pleasant surprise here in Westminster as we know of one in Huntington Beach. Having the same name must be that they have equally as good Chinese point and choose dishes on the counter. Walking in, we were greeted, and I immediately knew that a fried rice and noodles combo would work for me. Now for the sides; mushrooms and chicken for a side, and I see greens for vegetables. The nice server went to the kitchen, and I waited. The lovely missus has Teri chicken and noodles and a green bean dish. My vegetables were made fresh; cabbage and carrots and zuchini and more. We also got some round almond cookies and found the napkins and fork and fortune cookies in the heavy bag. We were doing takeout. Well, no doubts about our choosing The Wok Experience at the Westminster location. It was a bountyful great lunch, and I had more for dinner with a cookie dessert.

My boyfriend took me to his childhood Chinese spot and I loved it! The orange chicken and beef with broccoli were SO GOOD! Chow mein and fried rice were delicious. It's a really cute place and a bunch of tables. Service was quick and staff were friendly. This place also accepts credit cards and was extremely affordable. Definitely one of my new Chinese spots!

I have been eating at The Wok Experience for twenty years and I have Orange chicken together with a combo only five times. Today I'm honestly grading for one star because five or six pieces of chicken. Other pieces are junk of flour. It was so greasy and I'm considering my health and illness. No thank you

We went all out and ordered a ton of dishes including clams in basil, lobster, Peking duck, honey walnut shrimp, and shaken beef. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. Honestly, every dish was a hit with the table. Service was great throughout the night. Our server even brought the lobster out for a quick photo op before it was taken back to be prepared, which made the night feel a little more special. We ended up with around 12 main entrees plus some drinks, and the total was surprisingly affordable for the amount of food we ordered. Definitely a solid spot for group dinners and celebrations. Only downside is parking can be a bit tricky, especially on a busy weekend night, so plan a little extra time for that. Overall, would absolutely come back!

Soooo Gooddd!!!…read more Food is always worth the wait here, authentic flavors at a great price! Everything is cooked to perfection and flavors are always so consistent and delicious. Weekends are about a 50min wait while weekdays are less packed, but I can promise you it's worth it. Ambiance is great, servers are always checking in and making sure you have everything you need. Especially Rodolfo!! (or Rudy) he's always on top of everything and very kind, always spotting you if you need anything without having to ask! 10/10 service from him. Tip: always come earlier to get good parking! it does get busy here because of how good the food is!

Noodle Star 川粵 - Steamed pork, napa, shrimp dumplings (白菜豬肉蝦水餃) - $16

Noodle Star 川粵

Whenever I'm in Garden Grove, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine will always take precedence. However,…read moremy most recent trip pivoted from the norm, and Noodle Star became the destination. The end result? Reasonable prices, warm service, and very tasty food. Like so many Chinese restaurants, the name and theme is inherently confusing. Up until last year, the place was Harbor Garden and it's rebranded to Noodle Star ever since. The Chinese name ("川粵" aka "Chuan Yue") would imply there is a Sichuan + Cantonese component to the offerings, despite the words "teppanyaki" and handmade noodles (手工麵) noted on the exterior as well as on signs on the interior. Typically any restaurant that dabbles in multiple regional Chinese variations (Sichuan, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Lanzhou, etc.) is a huge flight risk. Surprisingly, it all worked out. All of my orders were from different regions of the country, starting with a Cantonese beef chow fun (乾炒牛河) that was delightfully smokey from the wok hei (#1) and the noodles and beef were silky and smooth. While the noodles aren't as wide as I would have liked, they were still 100% workable in the dish. The Taiwanese style popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was wonderfully fried and the chicken was still juicy on the inside. Their napa cabbage + shrimp + pork steamed dumplings (白菜豬肉蝦水餃) were pillowy soft and steamed perfectly. They were plump and not too doughy; which is very appropo for a northern Chinese dish. The biggest surprise may have come from the soup dumplings (小籠包), which had just the right amount of soup and a very delicate dumpling skin that was downright excellent. The service was kind, attentive, and very bilingual with Mandarin and English. Prices might feel high to non-Cali folks, but the spectrum is very much on the Socal average. (#2). Bathrooms were mostly clean and the seating options were plentiful; solid for large and small group action. Parking can be tough on the weekends since it's a strip mall. I already know that I'll be back. If I was able to order 4 regions and they all came out excellent (#3), I can only imagine how excellent the rest of the house special group of dishes will be. __________ (#1) "Essence of the wok" -- it's a thing. (#2) At $15-19 for most dishes. (#3) Did we get lucky?

The green beans were also aâmzing, fresh, bright green, and not oily at all. Simple but cooked perfectly. My favorite surprise was the potato salad. Overall: good food, fresh ingredients, and great flavors. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!

This place is always busy, and they don't take reservations -- but if you have a large party, you…read morecan call in advance and they will put you on a wait-list ... This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Tan Cang Newport Seafood has been around a few decades. We came here a few times many years ago…read morewhen there was a travel agency next-door. Our family joked around and would say let's go to the travel agency restaurant when we had a craving for Chinese/Vietnamese type of food. I recall the food back then was extra tasty and memorable, leaving me wanting to return again and again. However, my recent lunch outing with my girlfriends changed my mind. Our servers were attentive and friendly. I think it helped that my friend was a familiar customer. We came on a Monday afternoon around 11:30 and It was early enough where parking was still available. We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.

We don't come here for dim sum as much anymore since their second location opened, but I still think the dinner here is better.
