Super cute little wine place that we discovered on our way to Russo's for dinner. If I ever build a she-shed in my backyard I want it to look and feel like this place. The Wine Mill has a company make its private label wines. The wine snob in me says they are not varietally correct which is a bummer. They do have some great craft beers on tap (ah hem Clown Shoes) and they have a nice selection of wines you can order as a taste, glass or bottle. The bartender and I had fun tasting a variety of wines and he explained the history of the place. The food looks awesome and it is nicely presented on the plate. What a beautiful place! It was such a nice evening! Our waitress was very nice and Patrick and Steven are extremely hospitable! The wine selection was excellent. I found a new favorite! The cheese and fruit tray was enough to share with the whole table! A great variety. My husband and I got the braised beef sliders, my sister the caprese sliders, and my brother in law the pork sliders... All which we LOVED. The portions are HUGE, And make sure you save room for dessert!! The carrot cake came with pumpkin ice cream! Everything was plated just beautifully. You will not be disappointed. We've been here several times but recent changes were HUGE disappointments. Loved the previous tasting option but now it is a big rip off limited to cheapest wines at nearly twice the price per ounce of glass pours. Generally the food was still good except for the charcuterie plate which was mostly fruit, cheap cheese and one summer sausage type meat. I'm hoping they fix these recent mistakes but I'm not sure I'll find out cause I'm not sure I'll go again. read more

We celebrated my sister's surprise 40th birthday party in the upstairs room at the Wine Mill in early August 2018, and it was awesome! The staff (Steven) was very easy to work with and even allowed us to customize the menu for our group of 13. He even had his chef prepare a food favorite of my sisters that wasn't on the menu! It was a big hit! The staff and service were fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered a sampling of almost everything on the menu and loved every-single-thing! Of course, the setting is another huge plus! It's such a quaint and charming venue. The Wine Mill is such a fun place to go with delicious food! Their wine selection is amazing, and their servers are very knowledgeable about the wine and food. Lauren was our server and she was so friendly, amazing, and recommended us the perfect wines and food! Their wine list is extensive, and their menu is perfect for wine lovers. I split the cheese plate and spinach artichoke dip, and both were wonderful. The plates are perfect for splitting - their portions are fairly large. It's all reasonably priced for a "wine bar". A warm, friendly, relaxed environment with great service, a strong wine selection, and homemade apps. The server offered great recommendations for my taste (which I've found is a rarity) and the live, acoustic music was the perfect ambience for a girls evening out. Only thing I could complain about is the price on the food selection, it seemed slightly out of range for appetizers and sliders; however, it was homemade and complimented the wine perfectly. On entering the Wine Mill, I was impressed with the decor. The dressing of the space is very nicely done with balanced lighting and objects that match the semi-rustic setting. We had made reservations which were lost prior to our arrival. The man at the bar assisted the first arriving portion of our small party in contacting the reserving person to confirm. This was not a good start. Fortunately, there was no trouble being seated. On being seated, our waitress introduced herself by telling us she had lost her voice. No big issue, but a bit odd. We ordered drinks and mine was served with flat ginger ale as the mixer. The server identified this, but it makes me wonder why any drink would be served with flat ingredients. He returned to tell me he had to go to the basement to get fresh ginger ale. Just bring me the drink I ordered, done as well as you can, please. We asked clarification on portion size for the menu items. Be diligent in reading the menu. Portions are large enough that we took food home,despite dividing and sharing. I would have preferred more information from the waitress when we asked about portion sizes. Salads with each slate of sliders and two of the pear salads made for too much food. Our waitress also did not bring out the appetizer prior to the food, telling us it was an item that took longer to prepare. We ended up canceling it, as we had all the rest of our food before it would have been ready. The final note on the service; our bill was brought to the table prior to our dessert. This was poor in form. Ok, now that I am done griping about the service, the food was nicely made. We had the Caprese flatbread, pear salad, and Parmesan sliders. The sliders could use something to give a bit more flavor, they are large and filling for a slider, it just missed outstanding my a dash of salt or other flavor to make them zing. The salads were exceptionally good and the flatbread was quite tasty. I would certainly return to see if the service is normal or an outlier. read more

They were on top of everything, helped with decorating, made sure we had fresh food, and ensured that everyone had a drink in hand. The place is cute but we ordered the Antipasto Plater and it left me wondering. The prices seem a bit steep ($16 for a salad served in an average sized mason jar) but the real disappoint Was that there were at least two items on our Antipasto Plater ($24) that I am certain came out of a bulk food bag from Costco: Cashew Clusters and Chocolate Covered Acai Berries. There were another 2 or 3 items that I thought were from Costco but could not say for sure. There were 4 small slices of hard salami, which was the only meat on the platter. All of this makes me question the quality of their food. Don't put pre packaged Costco product on my dinner plate. If I am going to spend money for a good meal, it is not going to be here. read more

This was my first time at The Wine Mill and I am impressed! My boyfriend and I went with another couple and had a great time. They were busy so we got seated in the corner. The seating was tight and the table was meant to be for two people, but we took it anyways. I recommend ordering the wine sampler. For $15, you get 3 different kinds of wine (your choice). We ordered the braised short rib sliders and the crab dip. Both appetizers were more like meals and super filling. The short ribs and crab dip were delicious! I will definitely be back. I recommend making a reservation due to the small building and this place is becoming more popular. read more

The Wine Mill has been one of our go-to date night places since shortly after it opened. They have fantastic food, a comfortable rustic-chic atmosphere, and great service. What more could we want? When we got engaged, this was the first place we called for our wedding. After meeting with The Wine Mill's managing partner, Steven, it was a no brainer. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Wine Mill on November 11th and it couldn't have been any more perfect. Steven, Brad and The Wine Mill staff went above and beyond for us every step of the way. From day one, Steven kept telling us that his goal was to make our wedding as stress-free as possible and that is exactly what he did. They will do as much or as little as you want them to do. Steven took care of everything, including flowers! He would have also arranged for a photographer, band, and cake, but we opted to find our own. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and flawlessly executed by Steven and his staff. We had originally planned to have the ceremony outside in front of the Mill, but due to a dramatic drop in temperatures shortly before the wedding, we opted to have both the ceremony and reception inside. It was perfect. We had just over 100 guests - everyone fit very comfortably on the first floor for the ceremony (some sitting, some standing), and then spread between the two floors for the reception. We had stations for dinner and the food was excellent - our guests RAVED about how good everything tasted, too. It was a fun, relaxed wedding, full of love and celebration. The Wine Mill was the perfect venue for a crowd of our size and the rustic chic, intimate wedding that we wanted to have. I cannot say enough positive things about The Wine Mill and our experience there. I would highly encourage anyone who is considering hosting their wedding (or any other type of event) at The Wine Mill to do so - you will not be disappointed. read more

I went to The Wine Mill last night with family and friends and I have to say it was just okay. The atmosphere is beautiful. The outside of it is very charming, and they offer many seating options for out there, so that is a plus. We sat inside, and again, atmosphere is a 10/10. The rustic touches of wood and metal truly are breathtaking, and so are the wood tables and high tops. It is a small place, but you never really feel cramped or like you're on top of someone. The size of the place really just adds coziness and comfort to your experience. The food portions are HUGE and they do mention that when you order and when you look at the menu. Our table had ordered a few things including the short rib sliders (YUM!), the pulled pork sliders (again, YUM), a mason jar salad (we found this difficult to eat because all of the toppings to the salad were stuck at the bottom so we had to wait until all of the lettuce was cleared just to have the toppings), New England Crab dip (I did not try this but everyone said it tasted more like cream cheese than anything) and a Caesar Salad Pizza (excellent). I visit Vineyards quite often and am very familiar with the prices, but $13 dollars for a taste? That is being a bit overboard. Also, we had ordered a bottle of The Wine Mill Cabernet Sauvignon drank almost all of it, asked to cork it so we can take it home (our waitress looked at us like "what is corking wine?") and when we got the bill we were charged almost double for the bottle we had bought. When asked why the price doubled our waitress told us that she had given us one off of the menu that was double the price... What? Without asking we now had a bottle of wine we didn't even knew existed. Another friend ordered the special, a caramel apple sangria, which at first tasted like pure liquor, the second glass tasted like water, our waitress explained this as "we pre-mix it for the night and stick it in a dispenser to serve", which is fine because if not mixed well enough, that would explain the intense caramel liquor versus the water taste we had. Overall, food and atmosphere were worth the trip. Service and wine, ehh. If we were to go back I think we'd just stick with the food. read more

On the third anniversary since opening; the service was poor, wait staff untrained about wine, and everything was overpriced. $28 for a dried up chicken flatbread? $18 for a mediocre California cab? Get real!! The food was dry and tasteless. The atmosphere is different with customers mostly over 60, but so many better restaurants that it's hard to understand why anyone would ever consider this. Came in with a group of friends. Place is nice & cozy. We were told the wine we wanted to order was replaced by another brand. When we received our bill, we were charged $14 per glass instead of $11. Brought it to the attention of the waitress, who said the mgr. had left. We recognized the Mgr who had managed another winery, & told her he was still there. She came back & credited our bills. Then when we paid, they misplaced our friends credit card. Never even apologized after they found it. Mgr, head back to Thorncreek. Your associates are not as friendly or knowledgeable. read more
