Everything from the rowed Xmas lights on the ceiling, to the custom avant-garde wooden bar top speaks late 60s/early 70s cozy-chic to me. On top of this, the music and clientele rocks and, as a bonus, the interior is decked out in Rat Pack movie memorabilia -- apropos as the spot is, I imagine, named for the 1955 Sinatra film! Fun, clean, good vibe-e, small but with a big feeling and bonus there's a mini-stage, patio, and a pool table. Good beer selection. Good prices. A dive bar meets a hole in the wall with the best atmosphere. It was karaoke night. It was fun. People that are just looking for a pint in a super relaxed, super chill, super be YOU setting and simply cool. First time and definitely not my last. Don't blink because you might just miss this place. Bonus, it's walking distance from The Hat and Wendy's in case you get hungry. However, when this guy invited me inside on Wed. 9-6-23,, it was a different story. It was very welcoming & friendly. The cold beers (Corona, Dos Equis, Modelo) in bottles were delicious, especially on a hot day, & at a discounted price during happy hour. The bartender (the owner's wife) kindly made me some free popcorn. There was a jukebox playing Mexican music & it was entertaining to see someone singing along to some songs. I enjoyed my time there & was thankful that my friend had invited me. I really like him & liked it even more watching him play pool & hit the ball really hard at times. Now I have a crying baby and I'm waiting for them to try and split the check two ways and I eventually give up knowing that the task is too much for them to handle and just pay it all on one card. We had to track down the waitresses multiple times. It's like they have NO ability to anticipate the needs of their customers. "They ordered, pizza, maybe I should bring some plates". Nope! "They'll probably want their sauce before the food item is ICE COLD". Nope! Anytime we went into the restaurant the girls were on their phones. There were five tables in the restaurant tonight so there really was no excuse. I think this will be the last time I ever go to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the reputation of the old Congregation Ale House kept me coming back even when time after time, the service was abysmal, however, now that Congregation's former glory is thoroughly tarnished I can honestly say that I will not be coming back and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Callahans has a pool table, plenty of TVs, occasional live music, and great staff and fun, friendly crowd. It isn't a fancy place, but food and drinks are good, and the atmosphere is usually lively. The bartenders are funny and efficient and quick. Please if you go find out when they're having the barley beef soup it's probably one of the best soups in Glendora that we've had! They have a great selection on their menu, prime, rib, fish and chips, shrimp cocktail, French onion, soup, steak, and fish of the day. They also have a daily blue plate special that you could get on a discount. The restaurant is really good great food great people a lot of locals go.. and if you want to beat the heat step over to Continental restaurant and bar in Glendora, where it's cool shady the lights are dimmed perfectly and you're gonna have a spectacular time! The place is smallish, has one pool table, a couple TVs, but no draught beer, food, or Happy Hour. They do offer karaoke on Wednesdays and either Fridays or Sundays (can't recall) and the crowd was thrilled to be belting out their favorite tunes. Parking is available in front, in back, and on street. NOTE: They do allow smoking inside. There's a good selection of bottle beers, but nothing on tap. Of course, you can get shots and simple cocktails, but they didn't have the ingredients to make an Old Fashioned or Manhattan. Drink prices were very reasonable ($13 for a Malibu & Coke and a Mudslide). We asked about food and were told that on occasion one of the women working there will bring something in or fire up a grill, but it's not a regular thing. Overall, it's a fun neighborhood bar with friendly service, and an intimate place to gather, hang out, and meet/make new friends. We'll be back.
