Delicious and tender boba pearls! I had a Black tea lemonade with boba and strawberries and the boba gave it the perfect sweetness!

My only annoyance is that in the strawberry matcha with coconut milk, they couldn't adjust the sweetness with the alternative milks, only the regular milks. I thought that odd and nonetheless the drink was pretty sweet even though I enjoyed it overall. Maybe I would try the other drinks to see how the other flavors are adjusted for sweetness as well.

For a busy Saturday, they had a lot of friendly staff turning out drinks quickly. They seemed to always have a line, but it moved fairly quickly. There were a few small, lounging chairs with tables near by, but for most people sip and enjoy their while walking through the mall. I couldn't pass up the Purple Mountain drink, a taro and ube mix with brown sugar tapioca pearls, topped with a cream cheese milk cap. The tapioca pearls were perfectly al dente, lovely brown sugar flavor, and not overly sweet. The drink was on the thicker side and I liked that the taro and ube flavor wasn't artificially tasting. They had two sizes: Queen and King--so fun! I went with the Queen (smallest size). Black Pearl Bubba Tea has a lot of your classic and unique bubble tea combos. From coffee, matcha, to fruit combinations, whether you are new to bubble tea or a pro, there was something for everyone. It wasn't overly complicated either. There was a sign that stated if you didn't like what you ordered, they would make something else. I also liked that their menu had pictures of what the drink would look like because who doesn't want the prettiest drink? It was also nice that they had dairy-free and caffeine creations. My Purple Mountain drink was caffeine free. This was one of the best mall bubble tea places I've had in a long time. I will definitely be stopping back by when I visit the SONO mall again.

I ordered two miso ramen with a load of add-ons to go following the epic snowstorm... it was positively delicious. Broth was balanced, savory and had the perfect aspect of heat... pork belly was cooked to perfection and I love how they prepare the perfect tamago (egg). A special treat is the saki flight-- Hayro is very well versed in his tasting note knowledge and origins of the featured sakis and was ultra kind, consistent with his execution of dynamic cocktails behind the bar. Love the ambiance, music is always on point and the bar set-up is ultra inviting... I prefer that over sitting in a booth. Rafael, the manager, was ultra attentive and very gracious towards me as a waiting patron... he even surprised me with a little KFC Bao which was absolutely magical with the sauces provided! Professionalism 10.0 and so endearing! I would recommend double checking your to go orders, especially if the order is a bit complex or heavy on the add-on factor (my cabbage was left out but I believe it was substituted for a larger order of greens)... but Betsy was polite and patient amidst me being a picky foodie in my ordering process! I can't thank this team enough for consistently delicious food and noteworthy customer service... it is ultra popular for a reason! *Posted while currently waiting on yet another to go order-- thank you, Mecha!*

I threw an order in for delivery through Uber Eats while I jumped in the shower. Took 30 minutes to arrive, the food was piping hot and presented beautifully, despite the foil and plastic containers. Overall delicious. The Saigon egg rolls are served with a Vietnamese dipping sauce fresh mint and lettuce wraps, and they were light and crispy and all the flavors together incredible. The KFC bao bun was a little on the dry side, but had a satisfying gochujang glaze with crunchy pickled veggies nestled in a soft pillowy bun. Kimchi fried rice was bursting with flavors and the creamy yolk from the fried egg added a velvety richness. There was a nice presence of bacon, fried shallots and scallion. Overall perfect. Excited to try the Ramen and Pho sometime!

So a thing I've thought about the place itself is that this is one of those places I walked by more times than I can count, but I have never actually set foot in here. Honestly, when I was in my 20's I always thought this place was like one or two steps at most from being evicted from business, partly because it was always closed whenever I would pass by it. But I have wanted to try this place for years, and I didn't mind that how I did it was by ordering on UberEats. So that was exactly what I did today. Thankfully, I had a promo on UberEats I was using where I could get a certain percentage off if I'd spent $25, and paired with my UberOne membership, I saved $11.27 on this order, roughly a quarter of what it would have cost me otherwise. I went with the Pork BBQ Meal Special, the Halo-Halo, and then the Turon was a closing thought that I ended up including in my order. So by the time I got to try the Halo-Halo it had already partly melted, so I had to treat it as half a dessert and half a drink. It is still easily one of the most interesting and curious thing I've eaten yet. It's like an ice cream parfait with some ube, a mochi cakelike thing next to that ube, and you can see all sorts of nuts and berries on the bottom. It's a fun and dare I say delicious treat, and I would have liked to have that fresh one day. Next, let's talk about the Turons. Honestly, these were also interesting and curious things to eat. Think a deep-fried banana with a honey glaze on top and that's what you get. It's a nice combination of crispy, tart, and sweet. The tartness does remind me of the plantain used to make the canoa appetizers at nearby Costa Vino, but it works much better on these Turons. The sweetness helps keep the acidity from being overpowering here, and the crunch and honey compliment each other as well. Finally, let's get to the main course here. What this is is a pork kebab on a skewer, served with rice, two slices of cucumber, half a slice of tomato, and a vinegary liquid that I can't quite put my finger on what it could be. The pork itself is juicy and flavorful, and the barbecue sauce is coated in a perfect ratio that nothing overpowers the other. Both get their chance to shine here. The rice was good, and while I probably could have done without the tomato, I did appreciate the cucumber. The liquid I think could be used as an accompaniment to other dishes too, but I wouldn't eat it on its own. Overall, I'm glad I did this. Just from the Halo-Halo and Turons alone, I had already begun to feel my newfound appreciation on Filipino food rise up. And after my second time having ube, I think I gotta see more ube things in my life.
