I found it!! This is the one. Completely authentic fish n chips. I don't wanna be the annoying I'm from the UK so I know about fish and chips but growing up there for 25 years and it being part of some of our national cuisine, I'm very picky about where I get the stuff, and this is the third time find (from my former reviews) a charm, trying to find an authentic chippy in traveling distance. Im not trying to talks S about the others but I simply watched the awesome staff literally chip the potatoes right in front of me. Just like they do in the back room at any authentic British chippy with a real OG chipper press. It was under half the price of the last place i tried and honestly 3 times as good. Its a walkup window but im not complaining about that since you have the beach and ocean to chill at right there. Parking wasnt bad either since its always busy in this area there was many options. It was made fresh, cooked perfectly tasted as it should and great value for money. The 2 staff were really cool and friendly & I enjoyed talking to them about everything from how happy I was to see them making authentic food to one of the most Legendary rappers to ever do it. And other more exotic sauces like truffle mayo and more. Our fries were ready after a short wait. They came out piping hot and tasty. Some of the smaller fries were crispy while bigger fries varied from crispy and then fluffy in the middle to a slightly less done baked potato interior. We enjoyed them very much. Based on just how good the fries were, we decided next time in Venice we'd definitely try some of their fish and chips and other fried seafood. If it's as good as the fries it will be great. Not friendly at all and it was clear that she didn't want to be there. Whoever was cooking overcooked the fish. It was dry, over battered, and hard. I got a chance to try Wee Chippy 's Gluten Free Vegan Fish & Chips today! I spoke with Joe, the owner of the company, on Instagram for the hours of operation because the hours on the website and Yelp were different. He was quick to respond and he let me know that they are open everyday except for Wednesdays. They open from 12pm-7pm. I love the idea that you can mix two types of Chippy Salts together and you also have two sauces you can choose from. I asked what was popular and went with the Suggestions of Fire Roasted Garlic and California Rosemary. I went with the vegan Mayo and vegan truffle oil. Any additional sauces are 50 cents each. The sauces and salts come with the meal but there's some that you have to pay a dollar or $1.25 extra to get them. They also have a gluten free option and non vegan Alaskan Cod, calamari, shrimp, or you can get the whole seafood combo! I honestly did not like the texture of the vegan fish and chips. Not sure if it was supposed to be chewy and hard. The salts had such strong tastes and it was a little too much for me. I think next time I'll go with something simple like the Pacific Ocean Kosher or tell them easy salts next time. The table next to me really enjoyed their Fish and Chips. They told me that they had friends who recommended them this place and that the owner was from Scotland. When I come back, I'm definitely going to be bringing a friend or a family member so they can try out their non vegan options. If you want fish fried without beer batter, they recommend getting the gluten free version. I did that and it tasted pretty good.
