I went to Niki for my first bikini wax today, and I had a great experience! From the initial call to set up the appointment to the actual waxing itself, Niki was pleasant, informative, and efficient. Upon hearing i was a first-timer, she asked a bunch of questions, made sure enough time had passed since my last shave, and recommended her basic bikini wax to me. There was a slight scheduling mix up (no big deal for me) but she confirmed the night before via text, which I appreciated & reached out the day of to amend the mix-up. The actual appointment was very comfortable, no rush and no awkwardness. I feel so incredibly bad writing this, but I think it will help some people. Let me just say that I think Nikki is really nice and comforting, this is not personal whatsoever, she was very sweet and accomodating! I made a last minute appointment with her for valentine's day and she squeezed me in. She let me step out after the waxing to get her some cash and trusted me to come back and leave it for her. Also, she forewarned that if my hair growth wasn't long enough, she would have to decline to do my wax. So first, if my bad bikini waxing experience was due to my hair growth, then I would have preferred her telling me this rather than her going over the same spots over and over and over again!! I told her that if it was too short, I would still pay her to make up for her slot since it would be money lost, but she said it would be fine. Well then I dont know what's wrong because this waxing session was awful!! I've been waxed before and yeah it sucked, but after this appointment, I was left blotchy and was sore for DAYS afterwards. She kept tugging at left over pieces and I wanted to die! Bless her, she tried to converse with me but it only made the session longer as she would stop to ponder her thoughts. I'm sorry but I will not be going to her again, the only reason I gave 2 stars was because of her welcome attitude and trusting and caring personality. read more

Niki is amazing!!! I've been waxing for over 10 years and she is one of the best I have ever been to! She uses high quality wax (the blue kind that's applied and then peeled off as opposed to the typical wax and strip method). Much less painless than the usual. She's very nice and was able to squeeze me in for a same day appointment twice. The waxes are a bit pricey but in my experience (and I have had some terrible ones), you get what you pay for. Plus she has a frequent client program where you get your 5th or 6th wax free if you pay in advance. If you're in the area, I highly recommend her! read more

I have gone to Pink Cheeks for years and see Aya (love her!) but living in Thousand Oaks the drive, traffic and parking is some what of a pain. Found Nikki, owner of the Waxing Goddess on Yelp and I have gone to her a couple of times now and bought the series (single purchases are pretty steep in comparison) which makes is more affordable and comparable to PC and if you write a review on YELP you get...I think a 10% discount, so that helps too. I believe it's cash or check ONLY. The Waxing Goddess is in a cute office building and her salon is decorated super cute according to the season's wax is blue or green can't really tell - she says its better then what is used at other salons - so normally how waxing is done: technician puts the wax on with a Popsicles stick, then lays on fabric/cloth and the fabric adheres to the cloth and then it's pulled. Well...Nikki uses this other kind of wax - kinda reminds me of "Magic Shell" the chocolate coating over ice-cream that gets hard (she didn't think that was really a good example but that's how I imagine it). So she puts on the wax with what feels like a BBQ sauce mop (only really really tiny) - waits for it to cool down...wait for it...wait for it....then she pulls the wax off once its cooled. Ok I'm not gonna lie it hurts - yes, of course it hurts - hair is being pulled out by the roots in places that's - - well...pretty darn sensitive. But she chats with you to distract you which is a good. The 2nd time I got waxed I got a bunch of ingrown hairs which has never happened - I text her and she immediately responded and said for me to exfoliate where we waxed - it seemed to help - I believe she also sells some cream to help with that...I have an appt tomorrow and am hoping I don't get the ingrown hairs again - that was not fun. Overall my experience was pretty good - I am giving 5 stars because the location is perfect for me but the price is steep (I guess because the wax is expensive and I imagine her location is prime rent) and she is a one woman show - this is a business and most folks in WLV can afford it - it's just steep for me. I will continue to go as long as I keep purchasing the packages. Hope this is helpful. read more
