i want to give a shoutout to the pharmacists for dealing with the recent Rite-aid integration. It's been super apparent that they are dealing with an influx of patients/prescriptions lately and are truly doing the best they can. I've been going to this pharmacy for 5 years and have never seen it as busy as it is right now. Even though every time I go in they are slammed, the service has still been friendly, they are helpful with answering questions, and my medications are always ready to go. i would encourage you to be patient with them and give yourself some extra time, probably avoid going if you are in a rush. The automated phone system does suck but i think Walgreens corporate is probably in charge of that? just keep saying representative and you'll get through. read more

This is specifically for the pharmacy. They are incredibly understaffed. Be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes in line before getting your prescription. Sometimes takes a few days after it's called in for them to fill it, even if I get a notification saying it's ready. read more

Wasn't surprised when I saw the bad reviews. I must've had the same bad pharmacist that a few others commented upon in their reviews. Had a script called in, was told to verify before I go to pick it up. Tried calling five times, their automated system hung up on me five times. Finally gave up on the call, figured it had been three hours, so it's likely ready to go. Walked there (half an hour), was met with an expression of - I'll be generous - annoyance... was first told I'm not in the system (I was), then told they didn't receive the prescription (they had), and finally told that it would be at least half an hour until it was ready. Walked down the street to have a bite to eat, returned in 45 minutes, was told it would be another 15 minutes. FINALLY got my prescription, along with plenty of attitude, and was on my way, about four hours after it was called in. So basically, if you need to use this pharmacy, plan half-a-day between their receiving it, realizing they received it, acknowledging they received it, figuring out who you are, figuring out which script is yours, figuring out how to fill it, and getting you out the door. Won't go back, I've just never had the attitude OR the wait at my regular CVS. read more

I love my Walgreens on Highland Ave in Hollywood. It would be nice if they opened at 8:00 am as they did in the past. I have known most of the staff for a very long time which includes Rachel, Vanessa and Carlos and I believe Elizabeth but I'm not sure if that's her name They are usually the ones that help me and they're always very polite and kind. This Walgreens has serious issues when it comes to cleaning their bathrooms. For the first time, I used the restroom in this store and found it in horrid conditions. The experience was so graphic that I would let the pictures explain. The bathrooms parallel the pharmacy, where I got a COVID-19 booster update and a flu shot to stay healthy. I reported this issue to the manager, who pretended to be interested but showed no signs of moving forward with a solution. I am so happy that I decided to go to this location. The pharmacists and their staff are courteous , prompt and extremely helpful. DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION FOR YOUR PHARMACY NEEDS!!! In fact don't go to the location off 6th street and Vermont either! Both these locations have TERRIBLE management. I first went to the sunset location for convenience in proximity but boy was the manager such an A hole! My medication was never ready and it took them hours to get it together despite me showing them the text I would get from Walgreens telling me my medicine is available. After a year with the sunset location I tried the 6th street location for convenience of time since they're open 24:7. THIS WAS WORSE. I learned to call ahead of time in order to guarantee my medicine was ready and then lo and behold, THEY NEVER PICK UP THE PHONE. INSTEAD, they would pick up the call and put you back on hold! Then after you wait 15 mins they would just completely hang up on you! See the screen shots for proof. Long story short, DO NOT COME HERE. Sign up for Capsule instead. It was the best decision EVER! They set me all up via a phone call back from Walgreens and had my medicine that Walgreens needed several hours for delivered in less than 3 hours. DELIVERED! And they wrote me a cute little card to welcome me. This review is for the awful pharmacist I just got off the phone with at 5 pm today. I tested positive for Covid and I'm extremely sick. I requested a medication from my doctor which was sent to this Walgreens pharmacy. I called to ask how I should go about picking up my medicine and the asshole pharmacist LITERALLY said "call an Uber". I said "so I'm suppose to get into an Uber with someone while being positive?" And his response was "idk hire a task rabbit or something. Think outside the box". Only 2 blocks south from Hollywood /Western red line stop. Across from McDonalds/Food 4 Less and WSS shoe store. Stopped in for a few necessities. It's not the cleanest Walgreens, but it's not horrendous. Just don't use the bathroom. The employees here are nice and helpful (except for one dude, ONE time). The ladies at the photo and cosmetics department are the best ones, though! Always so pleasant and friendly. This review is mostly for the Pharmacy. I've been coming here for a few years to get my refills, and so far, so good. Twice I've had an issue with my meds and Sam helped me out both times, making things a lot easier on my side even though they were extremely busy. The other pharmacists and techs are also all so wonderful, but the most efficient ones that have taken care of me are two young guys and a girl with glasses. (I'm terrible at names!) The only time I've had a real problem with my meds was when a different pharmacist covered a shift that day and just forgot to refill my script entirely. I got it that same day anyway, so it's all good. read more

The people in the pharmacy department are so awesome!!! They always totally recognize us and say our names right away. They always go above and beyond. Most non-pharmacy employees recognize us right away as well and sure, there can be a wait time if they're helping another customer but they're just doing their jobs right. They're often ready with a quick smile, extra help, and a small talk in the stores not too full. I love this Walgreens!!! read more

Worst pharmacy ever. I have never once had them get it right the first time. Today they called me about 2 hours ago to tell me my scrip was ready. 2 meds. Just waited in line 35 minutes - with only one person ahead of me in line! And they now say only one is ready, they're "still working on" the other one. Like what the duck; pull it off the shelf and put it in a bag already. I really miss the Rite Aid. My advice - it's quicker to drive to Tijuana to get your meds or just try to score them on the street. read more

I was soon to be very disappointed, 1 person before it was my turn to pay, they opend a new register, I thought I would stay where I was. I asked the person before me to go ahead. So Angela , the very festive lady rolled her eyes. She took my items and gave me a bag , I had one , so I told her. The while charging she threw things as scanning them, I asked her if she was in a bad mood and she didnt even answer my question, was sighing and rolling her eyes . I had a good experience with the pharmacist at this location when I had some questions about some allergy medications. So that was good. This location gets two stars because of the parking situation. The outside parking lot is always full. To alleviate that, there is a little parking garage with additional spaces. Sounds good, right? Unfortunately, no. This is the most disgusting parking garage I have ever been in. The floor is littered with pigeon carcasses and poo. It smells terrible. And to top it off, there seems to be shady characters lurking in the shadows that make you feel real sketchy almost every time. No hyperbole, I do feel unsafe when I park in there and I fear that when I get back to my car it will either be gone or broken into. I don't think this garage can be saved. It needs to be cleansed by fire until completely disintegrated. read more

She behaved as if she had no clue what I was talking about, which is fine if there is a miscommunication HOWEVER that does not give her the excuse to be snappy and impatient with me and looking at me like I'm crazy when I'm showing her my prescription and asking for my meds. It may be 24 hours, but on Saturdays and Sundays the pharmacy part is closed for an hour. Some strange LA/CA law or something. It's not the closest pharmacy to me, but it is the closest Walgreens (and I'd been going to a Walgreens bought out local chain back in Delaware for years and didn't want to go through the hassle of changing all my prescriptions over). The pharmacy department is so-so. One time they didn't bother to tell me that my insurance wouldn't fill the script as written (the local Walgreens owned chain had a special deal with my old prescription insurance that this Walgreens did not have). But at least they didn't forget to fill a prescription and not bother to tell me like the one over in K-town. And they are friendly. Decent amount of parking. The garage/covered parking area is sometimes stinky. Well, at least the times I've parked there, I tend to park out on the side now. As far as sales and what they carry....it's the same as any old Walgreens. Haven't had any customer service issues (at least non-pharmacy). Rarely any lines in the front of the store. And they have these great removable stick on numbers that are great for mailboxes. ;-) read more

After you get a text that your medication is ready you will wait at least 20 minutes for an inept person to tell you they are out of the medication. They are unhelpful and understaffed. They really are in so much in demand right now....which makes it difficult for someone like me who has them prescribed for something. Two stars for being open 24 hours, zero stars for pharmacy technician Benjamin. Man, what an asshole. The self-importance reeking from him was more unsettling than when I have to open the dumpster taking out the trash and gag all the while struggling to get my bags in there. At least refuse ends up in a landfill every week, whereas until Mr. Attitude is fired I'd have to see his pissy face again every visit to this Walgreens. Meaning I will never go here for my drugs again. All I wanted to do was transfer a prescription since my mom was so kind as to mail me a coupon for a $25 gift card with a transfer (gotta love mommies who understand what it's like being broke). Simple, right? First he told me I couldn't do it because my prescription was being filled by mail. I explained that wasn't required by insurance, just an option. Magically when he finally punched my info into the computer it worked. Then he tried to educate me on shit I already knew. Then after entering all my data he shooed me away with an annoyed "come back later." Yeah douche, I'll come back when your shift is over. Mind you, I exhibited no attitude in response since I was floating on air about something so it's not like I was getting what I was giving. Of course later I realized that he had failed to return my insurance card to me. When I finally went back to pick up my meds he claimed he had returned by card and the prescription had been filled wrong. I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to fix it. The Walgreen's on Sunset (at Western) is the worst drug store that I have ever been to. I cannot believe that this is part of the Walgreens chain. The management is rude, incompetent and lazy.
