Honestly, I don't know why it's taken me this long to write this--people need to know how amazing she is. She just gets it. She can instantly tell what my body needs, and every time I leave, I feel lighter, looser, and way more flexible. I've had plenty of massages from different places over the years, and nothing even comes close to hers. Her lymphatic massages are next level, and when she adds body gua sha... wow. Pure magic. Julia is incredibly talented. I have gone to an insane amount of nail shops locally and all over California and I can guarantee you will not find someone who cares for your NATURAL nails as much as Julia does. $65-75 for a gel manicure seems pricey but my nails last almost a full 4 weeks. If you go to a quick "in and out" nail shop every two weeks then you're paying the $65-75 anyway and your nails will be damaged. With Julia there is no lifting, breakage or dulling. Her prep work is out of this world. My nails have never been in better shape. She follows the curve of the natural nail, never any lumps or bumps. I've been seeing Julia for my nails for over a year now. She's simply amazing. My nails used to be so brittle and thin and i couldn't have long nails. Now they're long and strong and they rarely break. I wouldn't dare cheat on her by going to a crappy salon. She really takes her time to make sure that they are perfect! I really appreciate the attention to detail! Since Face & Soul opened I also started seeing Brittany for gua sha facials and it's the most relaxing experience! She's great at brows too as you can tell by looking at hers, but I didn't get mine done since they're tattooed. She has such a gentle touch and is quite intent on getting your look perfect. You know, I'm gonna be honest here. Brittaney is a good esthetician and I feel that she really does care about her clients. Overall, not the worlds best facial ever but good. I feel she tries to do the best she can and seems like the leader and true heart of this place. Lindsay... her work is ok. Not amazing, but fine. You can see her work on IG and judge for yourself. Honestly, I feel there are better people in the immediate area, but if you want to just do everything in one place then Lindsay is fine. Julia... ok, this is where I have the problem. I don't think Julia intentionally tries to be mean or rude but she does come off this way. She is very money hungry... her work is very good, but $62 for a PLAIN gel manicure? Who do you think you are? There is a place RIGHT down the street from you who does JUST as good of a job as you and they charge $45 and are WAY friendlier. Julia CONSTANTLY raises her prices AND she does dismiss certain clients she deems "unimportant". I also think it's poor business practices to think you're "above" doing pedicures. Keep up that attitude and you won't have any clients eventually. I have heard from a few previous clients of Julia's that she is a nail tech they no longer wish to support, myself included. She also is earning a poor reputation at other nail salons in the area. She gives face and soul a bad wrap. Sorry, but it's honest. Whether I have the money or not, I cannot support someone like this. Overall this place is fine, but I personally prefer to support businesses that don't cherry pick clients. Which seems to be a trend here. In response to business owners reply: 1. I didn't say I had a "horrible" experience. I said over all it was fine and gave you three stars. I wouldn't say that's "horrible". 2. I don't use my real name on Yelp to protect my privacy, as it makes me feel more comfortable to leave honest reviews especially at places I still visit and may like some aspects of the business but not all. Like your facility. I go to you Brittaney occasionally, but not Julia anymore because I don't care for the way she does business. Of course I haven't been to you recently as you have been out on maternity leave until recent. 3. I feel your response was rather immature and not the proper response to a loyal client of yours, who followed you and supported you in your new business venture. May this be further evidence in how you girls can show favoritism towards only the clients you like and not be fair to all clients. Thanks for trying to call me out though. She does all natural nail care and I am constantly asked if my nails are real (always are). My manis always last at least 3 weeks (no chips!) and have been through it all (scrubbing, cleaning, vacation-ing). There is nothing Julia can't do and her work is better than any LA places I've been to. I'm always excited to see what she does to my nails! I have had the pleasure of being a client of all 3 of the Face & Soul ladies, although Lindsay is who I most commonly visit because I keep up with my hair more often than facials/nails. Lindsay is an AMAZING stylist/colorist! I have 3 close family members that have been doing amazing hair for 30+ years that have all done my hair for free my entire life, and when I found Lindsay my hair game completely changed. My hair comes out the exact way I want it every single time, I don't even have to tell her what I want anymore - she just knows! She is worth every penny, and every offended family member (woops!) Brittaney was the first person to show me that I wasn't doomed to have uneven/acne-prone skin for the rest of my life, that I just needed to have someone care enough to show me a regimen that works for ME specifically. The amount of time and care she puts in to learning your skin is so refreshing, not to mention she does incredible brows. Julia is a wonderful nail artist (emphasis on the ARTIST part!). She truly makes beautiful designs that I have never seen anywhere else. You can show her a picture from Pinterest and she will take that concept and make it 1000x better. She is pricier than a regular nail salon, but especially for special occasions she is SO worth it! She did my nails for my wedding and asked to see a photo of my dress, and matched the vibe of my delicate flowy dress to the vibe she envisioned for my nails! Who takes the time to do that!!!
