We were seated in a private room for about 25 guests. Appetizers for the table included clams orreganata, tomato and mozzarella, fried calamari, and a small salad before entrées. For my entrée, I had the cajun salmon with a potato croquette and mixed vegetables. We had a cake for dessert but the wait staff also offered tiramisu and cannolis. Everything was fresh and delicious. I especially enjoyed the salmon entree. The wait staff was very accommodating and attentive. They were constantly refilling water and asking if we wanted any drinks from the bar. In front of the restaurant, there is a large patio with seating for outdoor diners. To the left, there is a small parking lot on the property. There's also an inn upstairs for overnight guests. I'm surprised that Prime 36 doesn't have a higher rating because I thought it was excellent and plan to be back!

The fried calamari was cooked perfectly with a very light breading that let the calamari really speak. I had the risotto funghi filletto which was very flavorful packed in every bite to be honest my least favorite part of was the filet pieces they were less to be desired the rest of the dish really carried the steak. As for my absolute favorite was the baked clams I find a really good baked clams very hard to find. And it was flavor packed in every half shell. As for the service our server was amazing. He was so nice and you can tell had decades of experience. We spoke as if we knew each other for years he was huge part of why our night was so great.

But since they don't brew anything I guess they would be categorized as a tap house. They offer a nice variety of mainly local beers. They also have a relatively small menu of food items. I have tried several different things. Nothing to really rave about. But nothing to complain about either. All in all pretty decent fare. With that said the real draw here is the property. A country setting strewn with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Making it a very nice place to hang for a while. Especially, that they often have live entertainment. I'm a biker and this makes a great destination or pit stop. I will return to Skylands for sure.

First of all, the beer flights are only $7, the downside is all beer is served in plastic cups, but the pours are nice size. They do have wine but nothing that this wine snob wanted, lol. The kitchen offers something for everyone. I had the hot Italian panini, my husband the pepperoni pizza, zero complaints. Big bonus there's was music on Sunday! Nice gentleman singing not your ordinary songs, like Eleanor Ribgy! Very cool. 2nd Bonus. There's specific parking spots for motorcycles. So we will definitely be back on our scoot with some friends, scenic route from home is no highway. Nice outdoor seating and ice cream for kids, bring the whole fam, no dogs tho.

Once there the vibe feels rustic, historic, little speakeasy vibes. Service was fantastic. Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable about all the different wines available. The charcuterie grazing board was every and any thing you could possibly want, at least we thought so. Sooooo good!! The dippy duet of the tapenade and pistachio cream dip thing (sorry forgot the name) delicious. We ordered an entree to share and everyone raved about the lamb chops. Safe to say we'll be back. Such a good deal, $40 for 2 glasses from their signature wine list and a charcuterie board of your choice. The server was kind and informative, very friendly and open to conversation. She suggested the board with smoked mackerel, served with warm bread, avocado crema, juicy cherry tomatoes and gherkins. Beautifully presented and so delicious. We loved our Pinots and of course I indulged in a second glass. Peace, The Happy Hour Huntress

I would give it 5 stars. Our waitress Swe, was delightful, kind, happy, described the dishes, gave suggestions, she is what you would expect from a waitress. Even the food runners were excellent, smiled and said hello when they approached the table. The service was definitely 5 star. The Food, presentation was excellent. The flavors, just weren't there. We started with these beautiful onion rings which were house made. Big, beautiful and fried to a crisp golden perfection, yet taste, there was none. absolutely nothing. the most boring onion ring ever. Then the wedge salad, chopped and soggy. If your going to reinvent a classic salad, it better be good. I had the seared yellow fin tuna, again what happen to the flavor. it had a carrot ginger puree, that was more for color than flavor. the best part was the arugula pickled onions and tomatoes that came on the plate. My dinner partner had 16 oz prime dry age rib eye, which he did not enjoy. I am not a meat eater but tastes it and was not impressed. this steak was so thin. they took 16oz and spread it across the entire plate, taking away the true essences of a steak. I was pretty disappointed in the food but the cocktails were very good as well as their wine-selection. I beautiful place with great staff, which i would go back maybe just for happy hour. One other disappointment is with being such an nice steakhouse and all of the staff dressed and all so professional why isn't there any type os dressed code. Why are they allowing people to dine in sweatpants and messy t shirts. They should have a requirement. most diners were dressed so nice but allowing sweat pants. my two star rating is based solely on the flavor of the food.
