The cafe' is located in a vibrant street. With a lovely coffee on the street seats you will feel relaxed and can have a nice time with no more than two friends because the seats are limited outside. The interior is great with the posters and the books. The late' is tasty. Also, the tenders are lovely. All over, it's a good time to spend.

My first time in Deptford, came for a tour around the galleries and open artist studios. The Waiting Room was the perfect stopover to recharge my batteries with a great cappuccino and delicious sticky peacan bar. They live up (or down) to their name though, the queues are impressive and move slowly - but there's so much to admire while you're waiting, it's almost enjoyable. Showing my age again here, but The Waiting Room feels like my favourite hangouts used to look like in the 80's - we didn't have such great choices of vegan food in those days, though. Plotting my next trip down South already.

Popped in to grab a cake and coffee post a swim at the local pool. Good coffee and nice atmosphere I could happily have sat and looked through the interesting book collection if we weren't dashing to get a train home. This is a small space with some pavement seating. It will give The Deptford Project some competition and is a real welcome addition to the high street.

lovely food great for breakfast and the hot dogs are lovely too! cool environment. funky place. very busy.

Good vegan food and treats at an affordable price. Got an English breakfast tea and a 'sausage' roll. Staff was friendly, too.

Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! Served quite warm as well. Pretty alright tea finger sandwiches overall; the cucumber sandwich had a nice lemon zing to it though the smoked salmon sandwich and egg sandwich had bread that was a bit on the stale side. Regarding desserts, the raspberry macaron was very tasty and had a great slight chew to it but the red velvet cake was pretty dry. There were more food items at the tea service but I'm just highlighting the most noteworthy ones. :p For tea I had the jasmine lychee. Satisfyingly bold lychee taste! Recommend if you want something bright-fruity with slight tartness. Service was very polite and all-smiles but could've been more attentive. I'd say I would return here mainly for the tea and the scones!

The owner was so kind and apologetic and was generous enough to comp the whole afternoon tea. We were just happy to get a table! Luckily the London weather in December held up surprisingly well and we snagged a table outside. You can't beat this price! For about £25pp, you each get a choice of tea, and 3 tiers: sandwiches, scones, and desserts. The warm cheese sandwich and smoked salmon sandwiches were delish. I absolutely LOVE a scone and it was everything I could hope for and more. (I could eat the whole thing of clotted cream!) The owner truly made our tea feel so special. I def recommend checking this place out compared to the bigger dept stores for a more authentic feel.

Went for Afternoon Tea…read more Food - 5/5. Teas had great aroma and gentle bitterness. Earl grey had a floral scent while the English breakfast had a stronger astringent flavor. The scones were the highlight of the entire experience. Compared to the scones in America, the ones here are more savory, firmer, and way less sweet. Despite the firm crust, the crumb is very soft, leading to an excellent texture. The clotted cream had a clean richness, having none of the heavy mouthfeel you get from cream. The jam emphasized the natural sweetness of fruit with a hint of sourness. The clotted cream and jam were spread into a perfect ratio, resulting in every bite of the scone having a balance of all three. Sandwiches were simple with the manchego being my favorite. The bread's drier texture and the cheese's strong flavor paired well with the tea. The cake were soft and very sweet. By themselves, the cakes were overpoweringly sweet but with the tea, it was perfect. Service - 5/5. Very accommodating and welcoming! They had an alternate schedule that day and we arrived near their closing time, but they extended it by 30 minutes to allow us to fully enjoy our afternoon tea. We didn't utilize the entire extension out of respect for their time, but that kind of generosity really added to the experience. Value - 5/5. I'm not entirely sure why the cost of afternoon tea is so high as many locations I saw were showing prices that were £80+ . In comparison, Tea and Tattle offers a traditional set for two people at a very reasonable £48. Portions were good and looked the same if not better than those offered at way higher prices. It is worth visiting just for their scones alone! Excellent location to experience afternoon tea. Parking - N/A

My sister-in-law is an amazing planner, and since we were meeting family in London for a few days, she planned a wonderful tea for us here at Tea and Tattle. This place is an old family bookstore that was then turned into a wonderful spot for afternoon tea {with still carrying on the feel and look of a quaint book shop}. Reservations are required since it is only large enough for two, maybe three seatings at a time. Once your party is seated, you will receive your menu and decide on the Tea menu that you desire {how many Teas, Sandwiches, Cakes and Scones - with a wide variety of each}. Would you prefer a Coffee, a Smoothie or a Salad? No worries, they have those options as well. Be sure to inform your host about any allergies as they can customize your tea settings based on any restrictions. The Hubs and I decided on the Tea For One - This included a pot of Earl Grey {or your tea of choice}, a selection of five Mini Tea Sandwiches which may vary {ours included Cream Cheese, Chive and Cucumber / Mature Cheddar and Chutney / Ham, Rocket and Red Onion Marmalade / Ham with Mayo, Mustard and Tomato / Chicken with Cucumber and Lemon Mayo Chutney}, Scones topped with a Delicious, Mouth-Watering Cream and Strawberry & Raspberry Jams as well as Lemon Cake and Mini Chocolate Eclairs. Each guest will also be served a deliciously tangy glass of lemonade as a final sip for the afternoon. Every single bite and sip of tea was perfectly paired and the experience was a wonderful way to spend our last day in London with the family. I highly recommend this experience if you want to feel a little extra fancy and enjoy a spectacular afternoon tea.

After several Google services, I came across Dotty's website, it is well put together and really grabbed my attention Seeing Dotty's in real life was like a dream. There is a pink bicycle parked outside, the establishment is pink, the decor is very elegant--perfect for a photo op I opt to do the afternoon tea with Prosecco added on as well as some scones to go. It was a very fair price per person. Under £80 for the entire experience for 2 people. I stumbled on the listing while doing a search for tea places before I left Washington, DC to travel to London. Unfortunately I didn't make the reservation myself (relied on family in London to make it) so we didn't get booked for the afternoon tea service as I'd hoped and just had a reserved table instead. Still, I indulged in some scones with cream and strawberry jam, paired with a strong cup of decaf English breakfast tea. The staff is very friendly and took the time to explain the drink and pastry options to us. I hope I get a chance to visit again for the full tea service before the end of my trip!

02/2026 Just a quick…read morenote upfront: there are several places around the UK (and beyond) called "The Orangery" - from restaurants in hotels to other historic venues - but none of them are affiliated with each other. This review is specifically for the historic one at Kensington Palace, the beautiful baroque building in the palace gardens. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying afternoon tea here, and it was everything I hoped for and more - a perfect blend of elegance, history, and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, our host Denis made us feel incredibly welcome. First and foremost, I have to say he has a great first name - it's the same as mine (Dennis/Denis), which gave us an instant connection and a good laugh! He was exceptionally accommodating, giving us plenty of choice over where to sit and checking in on us multiple times throughout the afternoon with genuine friendliness and care. His attention to detail really elevated the whole experience. Our waiter, Mustafa, was nothing short of amazing. He handled our dietary needs with ease - accommodating gluten-free and vegetarian options without any fuss - and even split the afternoon tea accordingly so we could both enjoy it fully. The food itself was lovely, but the standout for me was the tea selection. I tried several varieties: peppermint, masala chai, vanilla chai, and classic English breakfast. The staff were happy to bring different teas or extra hot water whenever we asked, and don't forget to add sugar and milk for that perfect personal touch - it made all the difference. The setting is stunning, with the historic Orangery building and views of the Kensington Palace gardens creating a truly relaxing and regal atmosphere. Every moment felt unhurried and enjoyable; it was the ideal way to spend a peaceful afternoon. Huge thanks to Denis and Mustafa for their outstanding service - they made what could have been a standard tea into something truly memorable. Highly recommend booking ahead (it's popular!), and if you get the chance, ask for these two legends. We'll definitely be back!

We thought The Orangery would be the ideal spot as it sits right by the Kensington Palace. My group made reservations, which are encouraged. When we arrived there were ample seats both inside and outside. The interior is white, simple, clean, and bright. A bit bleak on the eye. We chose to sit outside to get some sun, people watch, and enjoy being by the gardens. All of the staff took great care of us, checked on my dietary restrictions, came by numerous times, and were kind and courteous. Now for the afternoon tea, we got the Afternoon Tea and the Vegan Afternoon Tea. I am dairy free so the vegan one was for me, but I eat certain meats so we did share and sample each other's. To start, the presentation was fine, nothing spectacular. The portions were plentiful as I could only eat the finger sandwiches and half of one scone, I saved the rest. I only expected more but found all of the sandwiches to be pretty neutral. I wish there were more seasoning, filling, and the bread wasn't as dry as it was. The scone was good with the provided preserves. When I did have the sweets they were all good, the fruit ones being my favorite. For tea, I chose the Organic Darjeeling. It came out to about three cups and was light and delicate. We left full! Kensington Palace is iconic in itself. If you want to pretend you're a royal or are visiting the area, The Orangery is an option. Honestly, I wouldn't come for their tea as I thought it was just okay. I would recommend going somewhere else, but I'm glad to check this off my bucket list!
