The arty decor with the decadent red couches and the vinyl records creates a very relaxing atmosphere and the beverages complete the cosy feeling that gets created. The hot drinks are served in pretty vintage looking cups and they taste great. The staff were very friendly as well and happy to help. And from time to time when doing an online search to see what's going on at MY Waiting Room I have had THIS Waiting Room pop up. It honestly had never occurred to me that I would end up there. And then obviously we had to buy some Waiting Room Deptford T-shirts to wear back to ours.

I wasn't sure it would be enough to fill me up, so I got the Halloumi/Sausage/Avocado Toast, too. Everything was great, especially, the tea! The Bad: The service wasn't very inviting nor was it attentive or even kind. I'm not sure of why our server/host was so abrasive, but he was. I didn't feel at all like I was in a cafe, but rather more like I was in the home of a host who was not expecting my arrival...in New York. Overall, this was a good change of pace and good tea. While I will applaud the food and tea, I can't suggest coming here without having rather low expectations regarding service and host attitude. Maybe it was just a bad day, and having one unpopular experience isn't fair to this location. As of today, I give the food/tea a "4" but the service gets a poor "2."

Based on this experience, I'd happily visit another Paul Rhodes location.
