After an amazing first visit on Wednesday, 4/1/26, I decided to make another reservation. To honor our mother's Heavenly Birthday on 4/10, I invited my siblings to join me for brunch at The View on 4/11, at 3 pm. I chose to return because of the delicious food, friendly service, along with the beautiful decor. I bragged on The View and couldn't wait to reconnect and reflect with my siblings. Unfortunately, I immediately noticed a drastic difference when arriving in the parking lot; parking spaces were limited, and there was loud music blaring as my sister and I entered the door. We inquired, and the hostess said there was a baby shower event. The music wasn't from the shower; it was coming from the DJ in the main dining area. The hostess was sweet! She answered all of our questions and ensured we had a comfortable table. We were seated and greeted by our waitress, Kendra. Kendra was kind and attentive. She immediately noticed our reaction to the loud hip-hop music, and she said she'd ask for it to be tuned down. That didn't happen. We ordered our meals and loved them! My big bro had the hot sliders, and it wasn't too spicy. One big sis had the kale salad w/Salmon, my other big sis had mac-n-cheese, and I had the catfish w/grits. We didn't love barely hearing each other speak due to the ridiculously high volume of music. I felt bad for inviting my siblings there on a Saturday afternoon. Clearly, The View appeals to different customers on certain days. However, management should be cognizant of ALL their guests. One of my sisters left with a migraine because of the music. I'll definitely visit again; however, I'll avoid Friday nights and the weekend. You should do the same, especially if you don't intend on ordering a side of "Twerking with explicit music." read more

A friend of mine had invited me to come out for dinner. We heard that the food and drinks were good here. She made reservations for us on a Sunday Evening. We get there and immediately was seated. We were seated right in front of the kitchen area; there were no curtains or wall. Just a big open space. My friend asked could we be seated at a different table due to the smell of the garbage bin on the side of us. The young lady was kind of rude but moved us after 15 minutes. We sat and waited for our server to arrive with water and place our order. We were just sitting there for a while until I finally was able to flag someone over to us. Some guy told us that someone would be right over. Hmm we waited another 20 minutes until someone finally arrived. No hello or sorry for the wait and no water. That should have been my queue to get up and leave. We both ordered the Catfish Platter 2 Catfish fillets and fries. I ordered a side of Kale Salad without the cheese. My kale salad came out with cheese. The food was delicious despite the hiccup on my kale salad. The ambience was ok, service needs improvement and the music was too loud. The View 1701 is truly a gem! From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. The chicken wings were hands down some of the best I've had in a long time! Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The ribeye steak was just as impressive it was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Their signature cocktail The View, definitely did its job ! It had me feeling just right along with the lemon drops . A huge shoutout to our server Briele she was attentive informative, and so patient throughout our visit. She even surprised us with free shots for our first time, which made the experience even more special. I would honestly request her every time! Kenya served our party of 16; she was great, she was patient, and worked with some of the unusual request a few had. Patient a saint! We were at View to celebrate a birthday. Overall, I believe everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. The flight of mimosas is definitely the way to go. I do wish they had a few vegan/ plant-based options. I opted for the Avocado toast minus the egg; it was good. To elevate it, I recommend a balsamic drizzle. It's 2024 yal, vanilla we get a vegan/ plant-based hot plate option too? The service is absolutely terrible. Waitress didn't check on us not once. Hard to get her attention. The man going around with the shots was the nicest staff had encountered, offering me a discount for the experience. They had me waiting 40+ mins for lamb chops that was advertised with whipped sweet potatoes. They gave me yams and a few green beans on a plate. The only good thing was the Patron tower and the free shots. My strawberry lemon drop wasn't the greatest either. I really doubt I would return. read more

I came here for a bar crawl and had the best time. Awesome drinks. Last year, when I came here, they only had 1 side open, but this year we had the entire establishment with all 3 bars. You think with 3 open bars, service would have been faster, it wasn't, slow, slow, slow. It was probably a million of us there with the bar crawl, so they should have had more help. Well, we didn't get to eat here due to some online reservations issues, but management could not have been nicer about the mix-up. Be advised not to bring your kids on weekends and make sure it isn't a private party night! I think if you book through Open Table you are better off calling and speaking to someone. I really thought I was going to get "Atlanta Vibes" when I first entered the establishment. lykyk After being seated in a separate room from the party reservations that was short lived. My friend and I could barely hear the music. We were on the only patrons seated in this room. I'm going to assume we should've came with a party to get the "lit vibes" that we wanted. I can say the owner(the one that was there) was very friendly, humble, and welcoming. She was more attentive than our waitress(Kendra). Kendra was working as if she didn't care. Like she knew the 20% gratuity was already hers. Let's talk about the food and the drinks! I have no complaints!! The chicken wings were fried to perfection. I know for a fact Jesus, himself fried them. I also had the French toast. My friend had the lamb chops and she loved them!! I'm regarding to the drinks, the bartender was bartending!! They also gave us a sample of a slushee type drink. I think it was a Margarita but it was amazing. If you're into blended drinks, please order one mixed. I'm not sure if it's on the menu. This was our first time. We went on a Wednesday early evening, not crowded at all. The music and food were great. Service was on point. The only drawback for me was the 20 percent service charge. I actually was an invited guest here. So I didn't get a chance to look at the reviews so I'll definitely walked in with an open mind. This black owned restaurant is doing their thing here. Definitely it's looks small but when you walk in is very spacious or different sides. Looks like they had a more subdued side of you were doing brunch and then the main dining area and then if you were doing a special event I'm assuming you can rent that space out for your special event as well. Open bar whatever type of drink when you can pick your poison in there. Far as the food I did the cauliflower wings. We had some sliders at the table. All one of the girls had the best salmon nuggets I've ever had in my life. Amazing! Chef brought out some like chicken. Taquitos, those were good as well as my main dish was such a chicken pasta dish. It was amazing. I actually brought some of the leftovers home and my husband and daughter enjoyed them. Where do I start... I reserved a party of 10 on The View's website of which it routed me to the Open Table app. Luckily, I called the day before to check on my reservation, I was told I needed to place a deposit because they did not have my reservation at all in there system and they were willing to accommodate me because the app didn't state that a deposit was required. Mind you I did receive a confirmation from the Open Table app letting me know that my reservation was confirmed. After calling the restaurant, I was told I needed to place a $250 deposit in order to hold my table. That was fine. I paid the deposit. I also was told by the manager that the $250 comes off of your bill. The waiter was good and the food was ok, nothing to brag about. The turn around time was very good. Once we receive the bill, my bill was $404, which was not a problem. I mentioned to the server about my deposit of $250. She said OK let me revise the bill and I will bring it back. She bought my bill back and my bill was ONLY discounted $199 instead of $250... I asked to speak to a manager, the manager then goes onto to say oh there are other fees and the other fees applied so technically the $250 was not removed because there are other fees that was added after my original bill was printed. I informed her this is not what was discussed upon me booking reservations here. Basically her explanation MADE NO SENSE AT ALL! I also stated that she needed to let people know that additional fees are included upon the managers discretion. I did not receive my full deposit added back and I do not recommend going to this place at all. read more

Ok here's my comment to your response to my review 1st of all Darnay never offered to. Ask me for the other half of the deposit. She gave me some story about how ZaZa was going to get fired because she gave me wrong information about my private room and that I can only have it for 2hrs then you was moving me to glass room with one bottle and me one meal. I asked why can't I get $750 worth of food and bottles and my people can go somewhere else but Darnay said she had everything under control. She was had to find when my friends were in the long lines waiting to get in because they Warfield to capacity. And as far as keys, there was never no missing keys. Those were my keys that the person brought my cake in never gave me back as well as I waited for my dress which was in her office.. so rather than keep going back-and-forth saying I lied there was no need. The 750 was the principal. I knew I had to pay the other half but you all never asked me for the money. She said it was too late. I was supposed to pay the money., prior to the party date which no one ever told me that. So was I unhappy yes was this a unmemorable event yes because being in my 50th it shouldn't have been a problem. You never should've called me. Two hours before the event started. People was already on the way the least you could've did was accommodated me and let me stayed in that room, but I would've appreciated a call being the manager. You never called me. I don't know if you was there that night or what but you never came to me. You never introduced yourself to me and say apologize for the inconvenience. I really wanted to love this place. Black owned. Ambience is nice. Parking was easy. Decent food, kale salad was pretty good I'm just not a fan of flavor of the chicken on my salad and the fries weren't hot. The wings were decent just not fried hard as I requested. Went for happy hour advertised on instagram only to learn there was no happy hour when we got there for what ever reason. Although the staff were kind and friendly, my biggest complaint was the level of service. Didn't check on us enough during our meal. Had to ask for everything as opposed to them anticipating our needs. Waited 30 minutes for the check after requesting it. Another 20 minutes for them to actually cash us out once we were finally able to get someone's attention. It wasn't busy and we were a small party of 2, so this was just poor service. If you're going to add 20% gratuity automatically, the service should match. I can see the potential. Hopefully things will improve and the staff will be more attentive. read more

I really wanted the restaurant to be great. I went with a party of 8 we were seated immediately which was great! Now here comes the bad part the music was painfully loud seats we're comfortable. The ambiance was nice but kinda dark. The service was all over the place in a room that sat I'd say 40 plus they only had one waitress. Everything took forever. The drink were extremely watered down I'm not a big drinker I had the lemon drop and it tasted like only lemonade. I ordered and additional shot of vodka and it was watered down also. Very disappointed . After waiting 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive now it was time to place our food orders . This took forever but I can say everything was good and hot once it arrived. I did like that you can pay separately which was a plus. Because we were celebrating a birthday e got a round of watery shots for the table which would've been nice if they were actual liquor.
