Ok so today I came in pleasant as usual sat down I get the same length, same shape every time for 55$ all of a sudden today it's 65$ so I asked him did they go up he said no I checked my debit card to see what the price was and of course my transanctions said 55$ so I showed him now of a sudden the 55$ length is shorter then what I normally get so I told him to cut them down, he cut my real nail without even asking so I told him I didn't want that nail cut he told me it doesn't matter oh wow so I said it does matter to me because I didn't ask you to cut that nail you shoulda asked first. He got mad because I called him out about going up on the price all while he was lying talking about he didn't go up I even showed him my bank statement proof that I was being charged $55 for the length I've been getting since forever. He tried to get smart talking bout why you ask for me I didn't ask for you I came in and sat down. so I'm sitting soaking my nails he goes if you're not gonna soak your nails you can leave I replied I'm not going nowhere they were put on here and imma be here until they come off at this point I'm heated cause you clipped my real nail without even asking so I told him you can't get mad because you got called out trying to lie about the cost of the nails and also trying to charge me 7$ a week ago for one nail. As a result of him being called out he didn't wanna do my nails anymore so I'm currently soaking them off to go somewhere else. He can only do regular nails anyway can't do no design of no sort just put nails on and regular polish shit I won't be missing nothing at all

The only reason I give 4 stars is that my daughter showed her technician a picture of coffin shaped nails and came out with them super squared and she has abrasions on several fingers. When i asked her about that she said the technician was very rough and hurt her. I asked her if she spoke up and she said she was scared to. That's some of her being 15 I'm sure (& I was at another table) but it's also important for the artist to recognize if a client may be younger or shy and make sure they're getting a quality experience and what they want / have asked for. These are her nails for her 16th birthday present. The owner was SUPER sweet & when she found out it was our birthdays gave us each a sweet little gift! We'll definitely come back again, just probably ask for a different technician for my daughter.

While I was getting a pedicure, a mother came in with her young daughter to get a manicure and pedicure. The little girl was white. The owner began talking about how beautiful the little girl was. Then the conversation changed, and she said that when "other kids" come in, they are loud and disruptive. My friend responded that all children can be loud sometimes. The owner then said, "No, only Black kids," and went on to say they are "ghetto" and that she tells her employees to work on them quickly and get them out of the salon because they disturb her wealthy clients. I am Puerto Rican, and my husband is Black. My family is multicultural. Hearing the owner make those comments left me shocked and speechless. I froze and decided to leave because I couldn't believe what I had just heard. I had planned to return and confront the owner, but I had to travel the following day and wasn't able to. I will never return to Chic Nails and Spa. If you are Black, Hispanic, or anyone who believes every customer deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, I encourage you to consider spending your money elsewhere. In my experience, no business that expresses racist views deserves the support of the community.
