I wasn't sure at first but I have to say overall I'm impressed with my first visit. Ambiance: Absolutely what you think of for a spa, areas were clean and appeared well maintained. Calming colors and during the massage calming music. The space is larger than you think it is when you see it from the outside and nicely styled inside. Massage: I opted for a 90m massage and for the price I'm very impressed. It was relaxing and my massage therapist was good. Staff: The couple of people I came in contact with were fine. I mean everyone I saw was 20 years old tops so it felt a bit young. I'm curious to try some of there other services... I'll report back. read more

I've been going to Destinations for almost 10 years. They are incredibly good at EVERYTHING & are some of the nicest people I've met in my life. I have tried all their services, except the tanning beds. I prefer their spray tan - it always looks like I just got back from 2 months on Antigua. The tones are perfect. Ashley takes on my hair. It's very long, & she's helping me to finally let it turn white. She figured out a way to do it, & it's going very well. Then Brittany does my waxing. All of it. She's very good. She does exfoliating facials, and my skin looks 15 years younger than I am. I'm not kidding! Then there's Jody. She is a joy! She keeps my nails looking fantastic. Everywhere I go, people tell me I have such beautiful nails. I get compliments when I'm on vacation! I keep her cards in my purse so those ladies can have beautiful nails, too. And we have a wonderful time chatting - She's got a real sense of humor. She's a remarkable woman & I'm lucky to have her. I've also had makeup done before I had my picture taken - EVERYONE wants that service. Bridal parties, girls going to the prom - they get booked solid months before prom so the young ladies know they will look their absolute best. If you want, they can apply eyelashes that are amazing. I very even tried their teeth whitening. Very nice. Then there's the massages. Oh. My. Goodness. They offer different types of massage & and couples massage! When you walk in their door, you'll see how very clean and neat everything is. You'll be greeted by the nicest ladies in Sumter, & they are all genuinely good people. Sometimes, I'm a little late, but they never make a fuss of it. Their name, Destinations, suits them well. It's a refuge from the problems of the world outside, where you will be welcomed & pampered. I will be at Destinations until I am too old to get there. This place was exactly what i needed! Been in the process of moving and all my muscles were sore and tight and on top of that i was stressed out!! Booking the appointment was really easy and simple. I signed up for the Stress Relief massage which is a deep tissue and Evelyn Deininger did an amazing job! Not only was her massage great but she made me feel very comfortable and focused alot on my problem areas. Poor customer service and inefficient record keeping. My husband bought me a gift card in store and when I called to check remaining balance was briefed that unless I know exactly when the gift card was purchased she did not feel like looking through the records to find my name and tell me the remaining balance. Prior to trying to use the remaining balance I received a massage which was supposed to be deep tissue but was horrible but I was going to give the spa another chance since I had to use the gift card. Now due to the poor customer service will just chalk this up as a lesson learned and they can keep the money. Would not recommend this business to anyone, definitely a waste of money. read more

Not a fan, it was awkward when my wife and I first went in the room. The massage therapist just stood there until someone started talking. My therapist (Leslie) was good but my wife's wasn't and didn't bother to look at the form we filled out as she asked her questions that were on the form. Then we got undressed and laid on our beds thinking they would come back in the room. It took so long I was about to get dressed just to see if they were coming back. To make it more awkward, in the end they just left and didn't say anything until we saw them at the register. Maybe this was an isolated incident but as of now I'm still undecided if I will go back or not. Had a pedicure and an eyebrow wax. The nail tech didn't put a top coat on my toes and they chipped before I even got home. The nail polish was done sloppy too. Especially for a $40 pedicure! The wax was no better. One of my eyebrows had the entire outer 3rd removed, so it was uneven and looked ridiculous! Will not return! read more

I have been going to this spa for the last 3 years. I call this my happy place! The staff wonderful the atmosphere is amazing so relaxing. Just what I need for my busy life. If you have not given this place a try you really should. From the best hair dresser the best pedicurist and the best esthetician in town. You will love the massage rooms they are so relaxing and the massage therapist are so knowledgeable. Now let me tell you about the best thing (in my opinion) the spray tan!! If you've not tried this I highly recommend that you do. I am hooked. Best thing they ever invented and the girls that do them at the spa really know their stuff. You will not be disappointed! This place has so much potential, it's just too bad they have immature staff that ruin it. I have been to Destinations Spa five times now. I have had a variety of services & while for the most part I enjoyed the service, I did NOT enjoy the customer service. There have never been less than 3 people at reception, this should be a good thing, I mean you would think more employees better customer service, NOT! Most of the time I am the first to initiate conversation. There is usually some kind of chit chat going on & if you don't approach the counter & say, I'm here for blah blah blah, then you will wait until they are done with their conversation before you are acknowledged! It's very intimidating & off putting. Once, the receptionist was on the phone complaining about something that happened to her earlier that day, she asked the person on the line to "hold on a sec" & then said to me, "I'm going to need a minute I have to finish this" & proceeded to complain to her caller. Another time I had just finished a relaxing hour long massage only to come out to pay & hear a girl complaining about a CUSTOMER! Sadly, this is one of the few places here in Sumter that offer such a wide range of services. As I said though, the services aren't the problem, it's the catty staff. I guess from now on I won't be able to have a one stop service shop because I feel like I'm back in high school every time I go. This is the last thing you would expect for a place dedicated to personal pampering & relaxation. It's just a sad shame. I really think the owners/management need to consider re-training their staff or maybe hiring some new ones. read more
