I've been a repeat customer at this UPS Store, regularly dropping off shipments for my business without issue. Unfortunately, today's experience was different -- and deeply frustrating. I was returning FIOS equipment after canceling my cable service. Verizon had already charged me over $400 for not returning it on time and told me I'd get the money back once the equipment was scanned at any UPS location with a reference code added to the shipping label. I provided this code to the first employee, a young man, who insisted it wasn't necessary. I questioned him, but he was confident -- so I trusted him. After leaving the store, I immediately called Verizon, who confirmed the reference code was in fact necessary to avoid a long and complicated refund process. I went back inside, explained the situation to a different employee -- a young woman who seemed willing to help -- but she deferred to what appeared to be the store manager: a middle-aged woman who was instantly combative. I calmly explained the situation and the importance of correcting the label, but she cut me off, saying: "We can't help you -- it's final." Even when the original employee admitted I had given him the code, she doubled down, claiming Verizon's system had changed and it wasn't needed. I told her I had just spoken to Verizon and that without the code, I might not get my $480 back. Her response? "You need to leave the store. You're being disrespectful." I wasn't yelling. I wasn't being rude. I was exasperated -- and rightfully so -- but remained respectful. Meanwhile, she was condescending and dismissive from the moment I approached her. To make matters worse, I had witnessed her speaking rudely to another customer earlier -- and gave her the benefit of the doubt. Now I believe she is the problem. This experience was completely unacceptable, and it may very well cost me a significant amount of money. I won't be returning to this location, and I caution others to avoid it as well -- especially if you expect basic professionalism or competent customer service. read more

I got to UPS location on Lincoln street, Wakefield about 8 minutes before they close at 630 pm. I said hello to the girl behind the register but she looked at me mad and didn't answer I guess because she was ready to leave? She pulled the cash register and started counting the money. Another guy came out from the bank and assisted me. This girl needs to improve her customer service skills. It took me less than 2 minutes to get out of there but she didn't want to assist me! Today 5/3/23 around noon I had such a wonderful experience with the young woman working at this location. She treated every customer in front of me with kindness, and then helped me as I was a mess trying to get my stuff together. I struggle with anxiety and depression and returning packages from online shopping is always a roadblock for me. I definitely will be returning to this location again simply because of the staff. I wish I caught her name (I believe she said she previously came to UPS after working her way up at McDonald's) but I hope she is recognized for how easy she made things for me and the other customers during her shift! I get that people ask really dumb questions all day (because they incorrectly assume that you are actually UPS), but where are the customer service skills? I recently won an item from Kaminski's auction house. I got lots quotes and ways that my item would be packed. I'm extremely careful as to who I choose as my final shipper of choice. I always asks lots of questions on how my item would be packed securely for its long journey. I have nothing but praises for AJ. He was very diligent and quick responses to my questions. I, too, depend on the reviews posted online as well to make my final choice. AJ did a SUPERB packing job on my treasured piece. The box was EXTREMELY sturdy and the way the vase was packed can be only done by someone who has been doing this for quite some time. I DEFINTELY would put my trust in AJ anytime again. Should I ever win another item from an auction house in that area, I will choose AJ to handle my item with absolutely no hesistation. I just want to thank AJ for his SUPERB packing skills and for being extremely courteous in our conversations via email and phone. We ran in at 5 PM today with an urgent need for 8 documents to be notarized and 200 pages to be scanned, and to get to the post office before they closed at 6/6:30 PM. One man worked on notarizing the documents, and another man worked with one of us to scan each of the 200 pages onto a thumb drive. Both men were friendly, professional, courteous, and worked as carefully and quickly as they could, and we got to the post office in time. We were completely satisfied and highly recommend them. Business suggestion: Sell thumb drives along with shipping and office supplies (we thought that our drive had run out of space for the 200 scans at one point). read more

This whole process has been a nightmare. The first person I spoke with, when I called on the weekend, gave me the wrong information on everything. I did email the owner "AJ", who gave me a price quote and then said he would ship it within 3-4 business days of picking it up. So I confirmed that it would be sent no later than 5/11 since that was 4 business days. AJ proceed to tell me that "Generally, we are more held to the safety of the item than the ship date" which I find funny since he or his employees wrapped the glass to tightly and broke the glass on my antique clock. I email them since they have a guarantee and they didn't get back to me for 3 days. I then get told I had to fill out the form and get all kinds of pictures. I informed them that the wrong amount was pre-filled in for the shipment amount and was told they couldn't do anything except send me the difference after the claim was paid. Sent them the approved claim and was told by the owner "I am away from my store at the moment but when I return, I will send you a check for the difference. Thank you for your patience." on May 16th. Had not received the check so I emailed them again today (5/24) asking if they sent the check. I then get a call from "Mary", I emailed again and said I did not want to talk verbally and if they could just answer my question. I then get another email from the owner, saying "Please call the store". REALLY? What part do you not understand about my last statement? Sent them another email, saying the same thing as I did not want to talk verbally. If I don't receive the money by Friday, I will just charge it back on my credit card and get the money anyways. I recommend you do not use them even though Kaminiski Auctions recommends them. read more

I had a really great experience working with AJ and his team. I purchased two embroidered benches for my wife at DiFillipo Auctions and was really stressed about getting them down to Atlanta in one piece. AJ focused on the most affordable way to pack the benches so that they would arrive undamaged. And he was right! They said they would be helpful to notarize my I -9 form form for new job. Even notary refused. He was not helpful rude. I had to go someplace else. This place sucks. Before I could even enter the door with a box that was almost as big as I am, Kyle opened the door for me and took the awkward box from my arms to help. From start to finish Kyle was knowledgeable, helpful and gave a great experience! I know we are all wearing masks but his tone of voice was cheerful and happy. We chose this shipping store based on the recommendation of a local auction house in Beverly, MA where we had recently won an auction lot. The auction company has used this store with much success in the past and many of it's customers items are shipped across the country upon completion of the auction. This UPS store was quick to contact me via phone and picked up the item timely and in short order shipped it to me via UPS. I received email updates from beginning to end including the much needed tracking number for my package. The packing was bullet proof and they took the time to make sure my treasure was packed properly and safely. it arrived when stated and I was very pleased with the service. I've had other shipping companies take 2-3 weeks to contact me after a big auction conclusion but these guys were fast and efficient and got the job done timely. read more

Horrific customer service!!! I first went to The UPS Store in Wakefield in September 2014 after having just moved to the area. I walked in carrying a rather large box with a pre-paid UPS label. There were no other customers in the store and they did not appear to be busy. I greeted a female employee by saying "Hi, I have a package with a pre-paid label." She immediately barks at me "I can see!" I cannot emphasize enough how completely rude she was... her words, her tone, her body language... it left me flabbergasted and speechless. It was such a complete unprovoked act of rudeness. I go back approximately three months later on December 23rd and get the same female employee again. I had two packages: one with pre-paid label and the other was a return to sender situation. I had received a package at my house with my address but with the previous owner's name on it (he had moved out six months earlier.) I tried to explain I just wanted to be a good samaritan and return the package to UPS for them to either re-route or return to sender. She immediately said she could not take the package and I would have to call UPS and deal with it. I explained it wasn't my package and I was just trying to be nice and do the right thing and that she could do what she felt was best with the package. I was starting to walk away and she is now yelling at me saying I can't leave the package and she would just have the driver redeliver it to my house. At this point I ask for her name... she refuses to give her name and instead yells into the back room for a manager, AJ. AJ comes out and instead of greeting me and trying to resolve the problem he just says "She works for me." I think this was his strange way trying to explain that The UPS Store is a different corporate entity than the UPS, the shipping company. As a customer I don't really care about their corporate structure... when it says UPS on the front door they should take care of the UPS customer. I left with nothing really resolved and sure enough the next day the package is redelivered to my house. She had marked out where I had written "return to sender" and put a smiley face. I am still amazed by the horrible customer service... not only to me but also the sender and intended receiver of the package... both of which had their phone numbers printed on the shipping label. The employees of the store could have either 1) had the package re-routed 2)called the sender 3)called the intended receiver 4)informed the driver the package had been refused... instead they purposely ship it back to a bad address... which was a waste of the driver's time during the Christmas rush. Needless to say I will never go back to this establishment again!! read more

I contacted this store about shipping a large lot of glasses I had won on auction. They responded the next day with two options - packed the way I had requested and shipped via UPS, or DRIVEN to my home, 2 hours away! Needless to say, I selected the drivien-to-my-home option, and I had all 18 glasses the next day, in pristine condition. I've never had such good service in the past. It made me wish every auction house had such a flexible shipping entity working with them. I couldn't believe it - 18 delicate glasses delivered to me within 2 days of my contacting them and not a single one was broken. I'm flabbergasted. And beyond grateful. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Today, I stopped in to this local UPS drop-off location with a small return-to-sender package. I had taped it, but noticed the flap of the box was already lifting up next to the label. I was flabbergasted when I asked if they could tape the flap down more securely for me and Lisa promptly responded, "No, but for $0.50, yes." I was stunned at her rude tone and response to a customer who has been loyal to UPS for years personally and professionally. I asked if I could speak with a manager and AJ came around the corner, stating that he owned the place and that it would be $0.50 for a piece of tape to secure the flap. I'm not as concerned about the mere $0.50 they were asking for, but am more concerned about the way in which customers are treated. Do not do business with this store. UPS needs to know how their local stores are treating customers. It reflects poorly on their entire company, and there are many other shipping companies around here that I'll plan to use moving forward because of how I was treated in this store. When I turned to Yelp, I noticed another review from years ago describing the same store, same owner and employee, and the same horrific experience. This should not be allowed to continue. read more

I went to this location to mail a package to my son who is stationed in Japan. The young girl was a sweetheart. Explained she could bubble wrap and box my package but couldn't mail to apo address. I said not a problem. At the same time. A middle aged miserable woman entered the business and piped in we don't mail to apo addresses. The young girl explained that I knew this and want to pay to get package ready to mail to post office. This miserable woman then pipes in. " this is going to take at least 30 minutes so come back later. I said I wouldn't be in the area later and that was ok I would wait. She then rudely says.WELL HAVE A SEAT THEN." 3 minutes later bravo my package was done. I will never go back to this location and I will make sure and tell my friends to go to the Stoneham location as they know how to treat their customers. BUYER BEWARE.. Although the actual UPS facility is minutes from me, I decided to visit the UPS Store because it was located near a store I needed to visit. I had a package mailed to Canada for $45. I explained to the person behind the desk what the item was and even put insurance on it stating what the item was valued at. My package was never delivered due to "taxes and fees" that were not paid. When I presented my inquiry to the UPS Store asking why I owe MORE money even though I had already paid for shipping, I was told they have no way of knowing what "taxes and fees" are. Call me crazy but shouldn't a company specializing in sending out packages know what taxes and fees are after you give a thorough description of what is being mailed? I have never had this problem with going directly to UPS before. I informed the UPS Store that I had expected a mailing facility to know this information and not the consumer. The response I received from the UPS Store owner was arrogant, rude, and completely void of anything remotely helpful, let alone an apology. Their response was: "Those were your expectations, but we never advertised or suggested that we know what they will charge in Canada or any other country." This response basically translates to, "I don't care; this is your problem; we don't advertise that we know how our job works nor will we make the effort for our customers". Not only will I no longer use the services of UPS Store (or lack thereof), but neither will my company. If you need something of value sent to anyone, I would highly recommend going to the real UPS and not this establishment. I will be posting this review on Google, Yelp, Facebook, and any other social media in the hopes of saving another unwitting customer the headache. read more

I will be fair and give them two stars since I actually got what I needed, but not without some aggravation. I went in there to have legal documents notarized on two occasions. The first time, the man running the store was a little whiny when I wanted several pages notarized. He talked me down to having just two copies notarized even though money was no issue for me. I left there thinking if they find notarizing documents a hassle, why even offer it? The second time, I asked them to notarize in a jurat's format, as requested by our international lawyer. I assumed that they were familiar with how to do this; I was not. Hey, like most people, it is rare for me to get anything notarized. I handed the lady a reference page on how to do it just for clarity. She handed it to the store manager. Well, the store manager who was already busy became unhinged and yelled at me and the lady behind the counter because, apparently, they already do notarize in a jurat's format. "It's written on the paper!" he growled as he whipped it back to me. I kept my head long enough to get the documents notarized. I thanked the lady who responded tepidly and went on my way. This time I left there thinking there, I go from two people who must really hate their jobs. Would I go back? I would only if I were too inconvenienced to go elsewhere. read more
