I was disappointed to be told I needed to purchase an entire roll of tape just to close a single box. What made this more frustrating is that many businesses contract with UPS for returns and shipping, leaving customers with little choice but to use this location. Instead of apologizing for the cost of services, it might be worth reconsidering how basic necessities are handled. Building small items like a piece of tape into existing pricing would go a long way toward improving the customer experience. read more

Came to the store with a box and a prepaid label. One side of the box was not taped up and instead of taping up the one side as every other UPS store I've ever been to does for free. I was required to purchase a $7 roll of tape. Terrible experience. And when I said "I can't get one piece of tape?" the employee said "it was a big box." read more

It's one thing I don't like is poor customer service. This location needs to work on customer service with their employees or hire people who want to work. Reading the reviews this seems to be the normal complaint. I went there last night to return my Fashion Nova package. My review is based on how I have been to several other UPS locations in the area and never have I been told I need to purchase tape to return an item. The Spanish employee was rude from the start. She looked at the time and stated she had two more mins left on the clock. Then she called me up to her station to examine my bag and then told me I would need to purchase a roll of tape to return the package because the sticky seal was not intact. Purchasing tape wasn't an issue, it was how I was told I had to. I simply told her to hand me back my package and I would go somewhere else. I left and went to another location and did not have this same problem. I scanned my bar code and handed my package to the clerk who gave me my receipt. The VA Bch Blvd location I will never utilize this location or recommend anyone. One bad apple spoils the bunch. If that store location does not reach its goals, it is most definitely due to terrible customer service. read more

This UPS Store (4504) was near other errands I was doing, so I stopped in to complete an Amazon return on a hot day. There was a line and only one person working, the manager Mr. Patel whom I assume is also the franchisee. The overhead lights were shut off and the AC was barely on. Amazon didn't provide a QR code for this particular return, so the label had to be printed out. Unlike the UPS Store I usually use, after first saying his UPS Email wasn't working, he charged me $6.00 to email the label to him and print it out. Quick, easy and convenient. Pretty much all you can ask for when dropping off a package. First time at this location which was once a thriving strip, but has now taken a couple steps back with tenants leaving. Parking was plentiful and the lot clean. There is no curbside parking. The sidewalk was debris free. The store is average for UPS. They have packing supplies and boxes, however not much. They also have P.O. boxes for rent. The store was clean. Surprisingly they were busy on a Saturday late afternoon. Most likely because they were about to close. This location is open until 5. Most the other store close at 3, so this is a reason to consider them. The clerk, probably owner was all business and efficient. I would return, but I do have a store much more convenient to my home. 3.5 seems to fit them best. read more

I needed some forms faxed and so I called around for prices. UPS store was the cheapest of them all. I went in and the gentleman was extremely kind, patient and helpful. I watched as a few people came in for different services as my items were being faxed and he dealt with each of them quickly and efficiently with great customer service. This office is clean and orderly. I will definitely come back here for more of my shipping or faxing needs. I felt very comfortable and felt like I was being helped with the best care. Do not come to this UPS. The lady that works there is extremely rude and not helpful. I needed to return my work merchandise and even when I walked in she stayed on her phone and didn't acknowledge me. She then argued with me because she wanted me to read the numbers to her out loud instead of looking at them on the paper. I usually go to FedEx but had a prepaid label for UPS so I came here instead. The experiences at the two stores could not be more different. At UPS it cost me over $25 to send a broken phone that I had prepaid shipping for. They charged me $6 for one hour of computer service which was simply me emailing them the label and them printing it off. Same service free at FedEx. The other UPS fees were charges for a box, packaging material and a packaging fee. I've shipped the same thing at FedEx before and it cost me less than $10 total. This store will nickel and dime you for everything they can. Go to FedEx instead and save yourself the hussle. read more

Went in to send my IPhone for an exchange and had everything provided by T-Mobile to send it in have it to the lady there and she printed out a tracking # and I just took it without putting in the tracking number in app since I have never had a problem ever in my life with sending stuff. Now I bet an email and someone swapped my phone out with and the tracking number is not even valid and there is no weight on the paperwork. She need to be investigated for this!!! read more

Ripoff of a business, plain and simple! This business actually charged me $6.00 to print one photocopy of my two page gas bill. The man didn't ring it up, did not provide me with any receipt and I think he pocketed the $6.00 and overcharged me immensely! Came here a second time to ship to a military address and it was also quick and painless. Both times I came here there were no customers so I was in and out. i went in this evening to send back a phone i upgraded . i was told they would print a label for me in the store . the owner was just nasty to me when i told her the company was paying for the return but i needed the label printed . she said it would be $7 for this service . they (UPS) should be thrilled when any company uses their mediocre services and jumó at the chance to survive when their days are numbered . if i didn't have to use UPS for this i wouldn't . overall their company is just horrible , but this branch , never again . this is not my first issue here , but it will be my last . read more

I'm not a fan of UPS stores anyway only because fedex is always cheaper but I am completely not a fan of this location at all. Recently moved and now this location is closer. The first time I went there, we were sending off a pair of shoes. Didn't care how long they took. Had to repeat how to spell my name multiple times and even when spelling it phonetically they still questioned every letter stating that that could be spelled multiple ways. Whatever, finally get that step taken care of and they tell us it's going to cost $70 some dollars to ship. Excuse me? The shoes barely cost that much. Decided I'd use a different service to ship it so I leave, go across the street and they charged $9. I could have even shipped priority flat rate for $18. Fast forward to today and I'm returning an item that came with a prepaid UPS label. No biggie it's just a drop off and paid for by the company. I walk in and yes, I'll admit I was on the phone. I've worked customer service/retail and it's annoying when people are on the phone the entire time so I make sure I get off my phone when it's my turn. I would hang up before I walk in the store but when I'm talking to my spouse who is deployed, I talked to him until it's my turn and tell him to hold on really quick.....it's a prepaid drop off it takes 1 minute tops. I am the only person in the store and the women is just standing there not acknowledging me or anything just scanning packages so I'm patiently waiting. She finally says "oh are you ready?" I tell her I'm just dropping off and she motions to a spot on the counter and says you can just leave it there. So I ask for a receipt so I have proof it was sent and she says "yes, you were on the phone though so I wasn't even going to acknowledge you" Really?!?! I completely understand it's rude to stay on the phone talking when someone is helping you but to not even acknowledge someone who has all intentions of putting the phone down when it's their turn and to be rude about it in general doesn't make you any better. Atleast the one by my old house has good customer service. I'll continue to go across the street and pay 1/4 of the cost if I have to ship something and will go out of my way to a different ups store if I'm just dropping off. read more

I brought two small Amazon boxes in to drop off to be returned. I've done this many other times at other UPS stores & have definitely dropped two off at one time previously at a different location. Upon walking in I was pretty much immediately told I would need to "buy a roll of tape" because "Amazon only pays for one box to be taped"...which literally makes no sense because they were two separate orders being returned in their original boxes. I proceeded to comply because honestly I don't know the rules & store clerks don't make them so why fight it. She proceeded to reassure me that if I "paid to have one of them taped up it would cost the same price as buying one of their rolls of tape", which is over $6. This roll of tape is maybe $3 at most after tax at Walmart. I kept my receipt & my receipt of the two small boxes sent back with their tracking numbers so their size & weight can be verified. I reached out to both Amazon & the UPS Store corporate office to see if this policy is indeed true or false information to coerce consumers into unnecessary spending. In the past I've literally gone into other locations with everything necessary for Amazon returns & they have merely asked me if I needed a receipt, & told me to just leave it & they'll take care of it for me. Never had to do this anywhere else & while UPS Stores are independently owned & operated if they're lying to sell more tape & make more money off of Amazon returns Amazon & UPS should know. read more

The Indian couple that run this store are very particular about how they greet and interact with people. It's according to the customer 's ethnicity. If you are white you are good to go and will get a friendly greeting and interaction throughout your transaction.... African American, not so much. Im used to this from some east Asians from time to time but it's been a very long time I've seen this from south Asians. read more

Went in to get some print of a recent canvas I painted. I've worked in a ups store for years and my mother owns a store so I know them fairly well but moved from Maine to Virginia. The lady was polite but was not knowledgable on printing. She told me she would be able to print because it would have lie flat. Which I knew she just was not knowledgeable in printing so I didn't want to have her make my copies even if I had corrected her. But then when I asked if she knew of a different printing place I could go to to make copies she said no. Her advice instead was to take a picture. "If you take a picture with a really good camera, you sometimes don't even know the difference it just looks like a good picture. That's what me and my sister sometimes do for stuff." My advice is to train your employed to make prints or don't advertise print services. read more

That being said, the only worker I've seen besides the owner is ALWAYS on her phone, acts like you're bothering her to ask her to do her job and is mostly rude. She's never been helpful at all. There is a reason this place only has two stars. I've never met a more incompetent person in the lady that works the counter there. I've been here twice before both times it was an extremely painful process just to hand her something to get shipped. FaceTime after dreading going there I went there anyways no surprise same lady same difficult time. I watched her do it to the two people in front of me so I know it's not her and I have. Do not go to this location unless absolutely must , but there are so many other locations I don't see why you would have to . First of all, there is a $5 fee just to use the computers they put up for customers lol , and if you have to print anything (which is probably the reason you would need to use the computer at all). It is $1 per page . I looked for the cheapest package to return my books to amazon with and the cheapest was $6.99 and they were so small I would need two. I decided to just wait and extend the period that I was keeping the books as it would cost me around the same price to send it off at this location even though amazon offers free shipping for their textbooks. I found a UPS location on Holland Rd and paid exactly $2.11 to return both my books . Would you look at that ? Prices are extremely inflated at this location !! read more

I wish Yelp would let me give this place (and the Indian woman who may unfortunately be the manager) zero stars. I wish I had read the reviews before going there, because they are spot on. Unfortunately, I was making a return to a company who uses UPS. Firstly, their printer doesn't work. When I tried to print a return label, the woman (who is an absolute fiend) directed me to the computer but didn't bother to tell me that the printer doesn't work. I waited in a long line for 20 minutes, then had to get out to drive up the road to the Fedex store to print. The line was so long that the woman told people who already had labels that they could leave their boxes on the side and go. When I returned from Fedex, there was no one in the store. Absolutely now on, but the door was open, and I was still within operating hours. So I put my box, with the new label tucked inside with the other boxes. The next day, my return arrived back AT MY HOUSE with the old label still on and the new label nowhere to be seen. I had to go back to Fedex to reprint the label, then back to the UPS store. I explained to the woman that they had mailed it back to me with the wrong label, and she LIT into me about how it was my fault, and it wasn't her job to put labels on a return. I said, that's exactly your job. Again, she said "Let me tell you why that was your fault." I said I just want my package mailed, I'm not interested in a lecture. She then told me to get out of her store and go somewhere else. (who does that?) I refused. The box was intact, except for the opening (I had opened it, not realizing it was my return). It literally needed one swipe of tape across the top. She refused to do that, saying "This is a free return; you're not paying me any money, so I'm not taping up the box." (Again: who does this?) Every shipping store I've ever been to has a tape gun handy, and they happily put your new label on the box and swipe it across the top for you. After spending 2 evenings trying to mail back this package, this devil-woman made me purchase a $6 roll of tape just to close the box. She told me again to leave, and I told her I wasn't leaving without my receipt, so I could prove it was being sent back, which she threw at me. I normally use Fedex of Office Depot, both of which have courteous, efficient people, but again, I was stuck with the company who accepts returns through UPS. But let me warn you: avoid this store at all costs. I have never been treated so badly by any shop owner anywhere. Because she doesn't seem to care about bad local reviews, I will also be writing the national offices of UPS about her. I'm sure they wouldn't want their name being used that way. read more
