this was supposed to be a simple Amazon return, and the lady turned it into a big argument, trying to barter with me, charging me for the return when it was supposed to be free. it was two boxes of weights and a barbell, and she tried telling me they all had to be in the same package, which is literally impossible not to mention she started at $40 then went down to $10. I think her family owned the store and she was just trying to make money. She kept making it a point to tell me that they didn't belong to UPS and they were their own store or something. I don't know, but I will never go back to that one. She was rude and stupid and her breath stunk. read more

The lady here is absolutely the worst! Anytime I go, she has a very poor attitude and is very negative. She is the opposite of what it means to provide quality customer service. Do NOT use this store for any service at all! I've had issues with UPS in general in the past. This is why I did not have a package sent from Amazon to the UPS Store for pickup. I had the package sent to Michael's. This was a gift for my daughter, and it was ordered under her name. Amazon's order stated she simply had to present her ID at pickup. Half of the order went to Michael's as planned, and she picked this up without problem. For some reason, the rest of the package (which was coincidentally sent through UPS) was sent to the UPS Store for pickup. I received an email stating it could not be sent to the ordered pickup location (Michael's.) When my daughter went to pick the package up with her ID, they told her she could not pick it up without me being there. This is not Amazon's policy. They gave some ridiculous story about the addresses not matching even though the package was under her name. Of course the address would not match. It's a GIFT from someone under a different account. I tried to call the UPS Store to discuss this issue, and no one would answer the phone. I spoke with Amazon who stated she should have been allowed to pick up the package. I am waiting for someone from the UPS Store to call me back. If they were wise, they would rectify this situation as quickly as possible. JUST DON'T USE UPS! They almost lost a package a few years ago with a passport & birth certificate in it. They would not allow pickup at a certain location, transferred it to another location, then did not know where it was. read more

I have used the services at this location for several years because of the convenience. Since I had never encountered a problem, their service was never put to the test. Once, my package did not arrive, and the tracking number stated, "UPS doesn't have possession of the package yet. Estimated delivery date will be available as soon as we get the package." I called UPS customer service, and they informed me I'd need to contact the location that sent it. I tried calling and leaving messages at the Eglin store, but there was no response for days. Thus, I drove the 88 miles (one way) to discuss this problem with them. I realize this time of year, they are busy, and I was not there to judge but to find answers and assistance. The store manager, Monica, was immediately very defensive and told me to come back in a week as deliveries were taking longer, and she had no control over things once they left her store. When I returned in a week, she showed NO concern or willingness to help solve the problem. She was extremely rude and very unprofessional. She told me to call corporate for help. She showed her full incompetence when she flung her hands into the air and told me very sarcastically, "I'm done. Have a nice day," while walking away. Is this truly an example she sets as management for those under her direction? If things are not working out, throw a fit and embarrass the customer in front of a room of other customers. I was not raising my voice or being rude. However, I did ask questions when she tried to send me away again without a solution. A lie doesn't like to be questioned, after all. The sign hanging on their wall stated a shipping guarantee, yet I found no help. As I stated, customer service told me to contact the store. The store told me to contact corporate. At the very least, when problems happen, they can control their emotions and show some concern and willingness to actually help the customer. I might expect such behavior from a young, overworked employee, but not the manager! I asked my granddaughter if I might have sounded accusatory, and she replied, "No, grandma, you were just asking questions and trying to get an answer. That woman was rude." Needless to say, I'll be going elsewhere. When you mail a package and get a tracking number, that should account for something!!! read more

I have used the Elgin St., Rapid City store on many occasions both for documents and shipping. I have NEVER had anything but Fantastic Service! Whatever "it" is... I have to say that they have it. The people here at this hub of shipping and packaging convenience are some of my favorites. Efficient, knowledgeable, and all about helping their customer. It should be the mark of any business, right? It was only within my first week or two here in RC that I decided that The UPS Store would handle my printing and shipping needs, and it came down to the customer service (and a little bit with the price of it all). Their competitors just can't hang, and I say it with utmost confidence. Anywho, if you need the likes of their services this is the business and location to venture to have it all done. Unfortunately not a good experience to report....my shipment of a framed poster picture arrived damaged on three sides. Clearly carelessly handled and tossed around. Not the stores fault one could argue, were it not for poor customer service in the follow up. I was told I had $200 insurance by the store even on self packaged items - which supposedly I paid for in my $90 ship cost, I was told. In the aftermath though the store manager refused responsibility, yet assigned me the blame. She was not willing to even partially refund of shipping cost, and it became all my fault with zero accommodation. Fair warning - you are on your own unfortunately if anything happens once you entrust your shipment to this UPS store. read more
