I have been with AMB for a year or so..I see lots of 1 star and 5 star reviews. I have been totally satisfied with both the mail service and the vehicle registration service. My vehicle registrations ( 3 vehicles) were complex in nature and Lani who helped me through them all is an absolute rockstar! Lani made it all happen. On the mail side, my scans and notifications come in regularly and shipments come as quick as possible. This is our mail forwarding service that we've had for 6-7 yrs as we are SD residents and also travelers. We signed up online and all our communication is via email or on occasion, phone calls. We've never visited their location. They've been pretty reliable so we rarely ever have to contact them with any problems. The couple times I have, it was resolved quickly. We have the Silver service and pay it annually. Usually I call to renew rather than have it automatically charged to my cc. That's just my personal preference but you can arrange it on the website to just charge your annual fee automatically and top up your postage. Compared to other mail forwarding services - and this is specific to travelers like us who need to establish domicile in SD - their prices are very reasonable. I've seen many others who charge almost double for doing less. It's easy to sign up online and they have a campground nearby if you ever want to visit in person. read more

In May 2025, while I was awaiting an important package, Babs went above and beyond, letting me know when the package was delivered so I could pick it up immediately. In July 2025, in my way out of town, Brenda was a great help settinletting me pick up mail from their office on short notice. Signed up with America's Mailbox 6 months ago. One mistake I made was to not ask enough questions, I assumed if I had a PMB # that my wife and I could both receive mail into that box. However, after 4 months and my wife wasn't receiving any mail I called and was told that since I didn't add her to the account, all mail addressed to my wife was returned to sender. Since we just retired this past August my wife has missed all of her social security and medicare mail and her medicare advantage insurance card. Additionally they returned her 401k disbursement check. All of this happened before I could get her added to the account. Once her name was added, we had the 401k check stopped and reissued, this time it was sent via UPS, the tracking # showed that it was delivered on 11/17 and signed by someone named "Koller". I requested our mail be forwarded to our winter location in Alabama, when the package arrived the check wasn't included. I called and had to leave a message for the mailroom asking what happened to the check, no return call. The next day I sent an email, asking about the missing check, no response. I called AGAIN and this time someone actually answered only to tell me they can't find it. Had to call to get the second check stopped and a third check re-issued. I have no idea what their mailroom looks like but I can only imagine it's nothing but chaos. If after this review you still choose to use this business, make sure you ask lots of questions, don't assume, as I did, that anything sent to that PMB will be forwarded to you because it will not. I am from South Dakota and this seemed like a good option so that we could keep our drivers license, plates and not have to pay state income tax, however, I'm actively looking for other options. read more

We've been Americas Mailbox since 2019, never had bad service until today. LINDA was rude and abrasive, we are waiting on a bank document, emailed twice, the said it isn't in the box, it was mailed on the 14 of November, today is the 25th. The online instructions say they will check the box and get back to us at the end of the day....LINDA says we have to only email. We've been with Americas Mailbox a long time, if this is the attitude we'll pull our account, and switch our Progressive insurance to a more reliable company....UPDATE; A "CUSTOMER" SERVICE REP CALLED TODAY ABOUT MY REVIEW ABOUT THE POOR SERVICE WE RECIEVED FROM Linda, he's wanting to know why we haven't give Americas Mailbox 5 stars! That is all he's concerned about, he didn't care about solving a customer service problem, he's really stuck on 5 stars or nothing. Now he's threatened to cancel our account because if we're not going to give 5 stars he dosent want us as a customer. In fact he said" there are other company's to go to, you can leave"! We've been in the service business our whole lives and have never disrespected customers in this fashion. Does he cancel every account that has less then a 5 star review? Unless we're dealing with humans, we don't like to write reviews...what would be the purpose? If I could give minus stars, I would. We have never had good experiences with them and we've been using them for 6 years. Every time we have an issue, we complain. Nothing happens...until I put a bad review on the internet. Then someone higher up calls and pleads with us to take it down and they are so sorry about our experience, it won't happen again...blah, blah, blah. This time it's staying up. Do not, not, not engage with this business. It's badly managed and in part remotely which isn't conducive to good customer service. Management and owner are condescending and vindictive. They lose very important mail, lie about it and when mysteriously they find it, they refuse to send it to you, because you called them out on it. We were with Americas Mailbox for 4 years we had decided to move back into a home again. Our membership expired in August and we needed to do an extension till November at that time I called in to get the forms my wife and I need to sign and send in. It was 2 weeks and 2 phone calls before we ever received them and sent them back in. By mid Dec had not heard from them so called and went around with them they had my from and new address to send our mail to us and money left in our account. Lady I spoke with at that time said she would get it shipped out the next day. Now we come to late January and no word from them called back in again and was told I abandoned my account which was not so returned our mail to sender and kept our money. We are now 48 days into the process, 32 emails of forms (which involve trips to office Max to print scan and send) multiple trips to a notary because the linked form from her was an outdated one. The checklist provided by her at the beginning we completed, then she informed us that the forms associated with that checklist are no longer used My guess is she is a former VA employee and is well trained in the art of I just come to get paid not to do actual work. I recommend immediate termination of this employee or reassignment to duties more suited her abilities, might I suggest human paperweight. After talking to management, I was informed that this is the way they do business and I would just have to deal with it. I guess that since s Dakota is becoming popular they can be as ignorant, rude and incompetent as they want. Customer service is extremely frustrating to deal with. Don't expect a reply from an email and IF you do get a reply it will be full of passive aggressiveness, and full of condescending comments. Typically you can't tell tone in emails, the tone comes across loud and clear from their careless bookkeepers. They don't care about the people that have stayed there or are staying there. I was a long time customer. since June I have requested and received 5 shipments. my latest shipment was sent August 11th. in that shipment was mail from June, checks, bills etc. when I called, obviously mad (wouldn't you be?) the mailroom manager told me I was being disrespectful towards him and talking to him like he was 12, in reality I was talking to him like he was 9, because with a 12 year old I would expect him to do the job I paid him for , poor sensitive boy go mad and hung up on me several times. his response to me asking him where my mail was for 3 months was he threatened to cancel my account because I was a bad customer (funny that, I paid for service that wasn't delivered, but I'm bad?). Today I got a call from the general manager, I expected him to be more customer oriented, (personally if it were my business I would side with the customer and investigate what went wring) instead anytime I started to say something he would raise his voice, yell and talk over me. I asked him nicely to please stop yelling, to which I got another lecture. he even went as far as calling me stupid, more than once. I got heated and said some things as well because of his treatment of me. He even went as far as saying Donald Humes the owner of the company had no power and that he was in charge. my word of warning to everyone is that long term customers no longer mean anything to these folks, customer service and trust are out the window. please go somewhere else for mail forwariding services. If I could award negative stars to a business, this would be top on the list for a (-) marking. read more

Awful business! We should have backed right out when we arrived at their so called campground to stay while getting started with their mail service, etc. The campground was not good. The office was not open even though they knew we'd be arriving (didn't mention that to us). We had to hunt for someone to help us ...in the pouring rain. We had their service for a year and it was ridiculously mismanaged. Their computer system was down everytime we needed to contact them. Their onsite insurance guy was NO HELP at all. What a horrendous experience all year. We've now switched to Your Best Address in Sioux Falls and have had exceptional service from them. read more

The workers are nice, but the software is difficult to use. They have been saying they are replacing the system for over a year. You cannot trash letters and request shipments in the same day. I have had items missing for days at their location, and a requested mail shipment lost. If you call them and they transfer your call often no one answers and they do not respond to messages. Also, some financial institutions do not recognize this address as legal address for residency even though it is on your drivers license. They are OVER PRICED for what they do. Do yourself a favor and use a different service. read more

I have been using Americas Mailbox mail forwarding and vehicle registration services for over a year. I am trying to renew my tags. They literally are impossible to get ahold of. The only time I have talked to a human was the sales staff who sign you up as a member! No matter when you call, you can sit on hold and wait for your turn then the line tells you to leave a number and it hangs up on you. The only time I have talked to a human was the sales staff who sign you up as a member! I have left my number and never get a call back. So now I'm trying to register my van directly with the DMV on line without a SD driver's license. They charge me $188 for services that they don't have the headcount to perform. So far, a nightmare. Chose the "Titanium" plan to get free scans, pre-paid $500 for the first year. They changed their web services to use iPostal.com but they didn't set it up correctly. I'm supposed to have free scans, if I select an item to scan it says I will be charged $3 for each piece of mail. If I select pieces of mail, it does not have the option to forward any of it! What's the point if they won't forward my mail?! I've been on hold on their phone system, which says "There are 0 callers waiting" but then no one ever picks up. Hours on hold with "0 callers waiting." What a scam! Not only that, the hold music is supposed to be a joke, the songs are often about "being on hold". Are they just laughing at me?! read more
