I can't believe I've never reviewed The UPS Store--I've been going there for years. Even as recently as last year, I would have written a "uggghhhh" review of the location due to the frequent snippiness of the counter staff. But this year, I've (frankly) had a delightful time doing Amazon returns there. The counter staff I've dealt with have been very helpful and speedy. And the returns process for me (unlike a few other recent reviewers, alas) has been super easy compared to battling the returns machine at Whole Foods. One pro tip: if you're walking from the south, there's a crosswalk across Sandy, right by the location. Very handy. read more

Service is improving at this UPS Store location, but I have discontinued renting a mailbox here. I'd suggest going somewhere else. This is a very convenient Amazon drop off location and I rarely have to wait. The folks here are pros at quickly processing returns and accepting packages. This UPS Store appear to engage in predatory upselling. When I came in to return a product, I had already confirmed with the company that my packaging met their requirements. Despite that, the staff insisted--based solely on their "experience"--that my refund could be jeopardized unless I purchased one of their boxes or repackaged the item entirely. They were extremely rude and dismissive when I told them that I had a different understanding. It wasn't until I had them speak directly with the company's customer service that they backed off. This wasn't about protecting the shipment--it was about pushing unnecessary products onto a customer they assumed wouldn't know better. That's deceptive and unacceptable. I've been here so many times I have lost count. I don't have a color printer at home so they're my go-to for color printing. I also return Amazon packages here. First things first, there's no parking lot. Pull off Sandy Blvd onto the side street and hope there is open street parking nearby so you don't have to haul your heavy packages too far. Thankfully it's free. Secondly, it's a tiny store. It must be in some kind of converted historic building or something. If there are five people in here, it's crowded. They hardly have room to store all the packages coming in and out on a daily basis. Thirdly, their computer is as temperamental as any other UPS Store. Sometimes it works, sometimes it refuses to login. I usually ask for help at the counter instead, which leads me to... The fourth and most important point, they have a staff of about five and they're all great. I see the same folks over and over again when I come in. Everyone has a different personality but they've all been as helpful as they can be. Not overly friendly, mind you, but they solve the task at hand. They are as calm as can be expected considering how busy they can get and the types of interactions they have with people. Until a closer UPS Store opens (unlikely), this will be my go-to spot. Every few months, there's a new face who can't undertake the most basic functions of the job, can't operate the technology, can't do math to provide correct change. Recently came here to return a phone. Great service. Quick to take care of your things. I landed in a longer line on a rainy day, yet got it finished quickly because this spot is quick. The main frustration that will not be considered in the stars of this review will be the parking situation. This UPS store is on the corner of Sandy so come earlier than anticipated. I never use self service shipping and I was rushed to the self service machine and had no idea what I was doing and wasn't receiving clear instructions when asking questions, there wasn't a visible place to find an email to print shipping label and when given to me I couldn't find my document. I left without shipping any of my items because I was so overwhelmed and I didn't want to bother them anymore than I already had. Ive never had this issue before at any other post office. And to be completely fair i did come late however what could've been an easy 5-10 minute ordeal turned into 15-20 minutes of confusion because they were rushing to get everyone out. Convenient for me but I'm walking. Not sure it's so easy to park as it is on Sandy. Even when there is a line they move pretty quick. Many people are there just to drop off prepaid items. One nice item is they have a notary. $10 per signature which seems to be the going rate. Did it on a Saturday and didn't say it was only certain days. They have a small selection of cards if you forgot a birthday etc and some are cute. I picked up a Halloween card recently. Been here 6-8 times now and no complaints. read more

I shop online frequently and at times need to return an item. When the company provides a prepaid label for UPS, this is where I come to drop off the package. Service has never been overtly friendly, but I'm coming in for a quick transaction so that never bothers me. They provide me with the tracking number and off I go. It's small inside, they sell packing supplies, have a copier and fax. Also notary services if needed. Located on NE Sandy in the Hollywood neighborhood where I used to live and still do the majority of shopping and errands so it's super convenient. I'm always able to find parking right out front on NE Sandy or on the side street. read more

Came in today to inquire about having a PO Box (or PMB), Byron assisted us and was certainly knowledgeable and you can tell he cared for the customers walking in. He told us everything we needed to know to make a confident decision. We only need a PMB for 2 months so we picked the 3 month term for $63 I believe? With a $15 first-time initial set-up fee. You can also get a 24-hour door key to access mail anytime. So far so good! Glad we went to this location :) read more

The employee that opens during the week is ALWAYS late. I come in once a week to get mail for our business. It's often a different day each week, depending on my schedule. For the last 6 weeks, at least, Amanda has opened between 5-20 minutes late every single time. I have seen people walking up with packages only to leave because they aren't open yet. Last week a woman struggled up with a very large package and had to take it back to her car, only to struggle back when Amanda deigned to arrive. If this only happened once or twice, I would chalk it up to life happening. This happens every week, no matter what specific day I come in. That means it's chronic and should be addressed. read more

Seems like the bulk of negative reviews have to do with their prices. Back in the day I needed to drive to Swan Island to pick-up a package or if I wanted to deal with UPS in person. I'm sure there are surcharges, but given this store is very conveniently located, I don't mind paying them. Do know that shipping costs for all carriers - UPS, USPS, FedEx - have increased significantly in the past five years. And I've used this location for my notary needs a few times, very easy and convenient. The franchise owner is a bit stoic, but pleasant. And the other employees have always been nice. read more

I've been a customer for several years now. Everyone I've dealt with has been helpful and courteous. Some folks are still working there from when I first became a customer. All have been knowledgable and pleasant. Multiple times I've needed assistance printing various sized documents via their computer and they've always helped me out. Whenever I call on the phone, they pick up right away and answer my questions. When I mail packages, they sometimes add extra taping if they think the package could use it. I went to pick up my package that UPS decided to deliver to this UPS store after I wasn't there to sign the day before. The closest UPS store to me is 4 blocks away but they decided to deliver it a few miles away for some reason after saying they try again at my actual address. This is not the fault of this store; I'm just painting a little picture. However, there were 3 people working and no other customers and they were all listening. I was very polite and explained all the things that went wrong with the shipment and how it was weird to require an adult signature for wood chips for my chickens. LOL. Again, not their fault. But they really could not give AF about any of it. They do not even pretend to have empathy or even acknowledge anything. All they needed to do would be to say, "Oh I'm sorry you had to deal with all that. I can't help you but maybe you could call customer service..." Or even an, "Oh that sucks!" SOMETHING. ANYTHING. One of them did say, "Have a nice day" after giving me my package they couldn't find for 5 minutes (it was right behind them). Just show a little empathy for the customers that come in even if it's not your fault that things went bananas with UPS. Even if you don't mean it. I came to this UPS on my way home for a notary, something that takes about five minutes and should be done once. Paid the fee and printing fee, submitted the document to find out the notary was incomplete as they did not print their name at all. Came back a couple days later for a new one, they tried to charge me of course I refused and found out a couple days later it was done incorrectly a second time. By the third attempt I am almost positive this is now an intentional ordeal, or they are actually that terrible at doing their job (which is signing name, date signature on a piece of paper). Came in for the fourth time to be greeted by this jack donkey of a man being so completely rude to me. Asked for some form of compensation, perhaps a refund for the inconvenience and mind you the hours I haven't spent traveling back and forth and waiting for a simple sign. He refused in very little words and when I asked for someone higher up to communicate with he said nothing. I grabbed a card and left. This is the most terrible, amateur, sloppy, discourteous and god awful experience I have had with any business in my entire life. read more
