it took a while for the employees to see I was standing waiting for service. The employees were to busy complaining how they do not get to take a lunch. They were saying that the manager just puts a lunch for them even though they worked through their lunch. ai then thought it was maybe a rare event but no the next time the mana was their hugging her male employee because her son got kicked out of school and she went and picked him up and b him and his game system. I tried to finish my business and get out I heard the boy swearing at the game for everyone to hear. I am very unhappy with the lack of professionalism and most of the time there is so many young adults just hanging around the store. read more

This place is a hit or miss. Sometimes you can quickly send your package out, other days their doors are locked before their closing time, and not just 1-5 minutes before hand. Wish it was a more consistent and reliable location. I make sure to plan ahead now and leave a few hours before close to run my errands at this store. If there was another location nearby I would take my things there instead. Half the staff is really friendly, the other half deff wish they had laser beams in their eyeballs to get rid of any customer that walks in. read more

I drive over twenty miles to ship from this store! The staff is always professional and they go above and beyond to take care of you. I just shipped 7 large paintings and the recipient (who is an art dealer) called me to say how impressed with how well everything was packed! Excellent service and location. Staff is always hard at work and has a sense of urgency. Crystal has helped us on numerous times this week, and helped us process a large order while multi-tasking and helping other customers. I was in a panic about leaving our team banner at home after we arrived in Oneonta for the Cooperstown All Star Village tournament. I contacted this UPS store to see what kind of options I had for making a new one quickly! They were responsive and tried to help me get something quick. Ultimately, I had gotten a hold of a parent that hadn't left to arrive for our tournament yet so she grabbed the banner and brought it with her. We didn't end up using the services of the store, but I was grateful for the time they spent communicating with me to see what could be done. read more

I have come to this location on several locations for drop-offs and all those times have been relatively quick, painless, and easy. I recently had a great experience here. I had to make a return of a stroller, which of course, after putting the wheels on (that could not be taken off), had become too wide for it's original box. Crystal (sp?) was fantastic, she problem-solved and found two large boxes that we were able to telescope. Originally, when we had tried out the large box, it fit fine around the stroller, but when I had taped up the bottom of one of the boxes, it again became a pretty tight fit, not wanting to go in. I don't know how Crystal managed to originally fit it in. My friend and I were stumped, and eventually my friend made the suggestion that maybe we could partially fit it tighter in the original box, and the original box could fit in the larger new boxes. With the help of Crystal we were actually able to do this. Although we originally had to tape up the boxes ourselves, Crystal came over (despite it being busy - Gabby helped manage the other customers), and quickly and rapidly taped up the boxes together and more securely for us in a much faster time than it was taking me. The UPS Store in Oneonta NY is the best . We have been moving our daughter's things as she is moving to Florida. Pod service and UPack Service was not available in the area so the alternative is to mail everything that she wanted to take with her. Not only have the ladies in the store been wonderful about all the boxes that we have brought in to ship but all arrived safe and in wonderful shape to there destination. They also sell great packing materials and boxes that come in handy being right there at the store. They will also pack for you and do a great job. I always have good service, recently anyway. It takes less time than I think its going to take, because whoever is at the front desk knows what they are doing. They have helped to make a secure package and give it the right labels, even finding a missing zipcode. I'm just happy to pay someone good and fast to take a cumbersome chore off my hands! I was shipping two packages that needed insurance over $1k. No one told me that the recipient's signature would be required. At the other end, there was no attempt to contact me or the recipient when he wasn't there to provide a signature. After two weeks with no contact, the packages were returned to the Oneonta store. I had asked for a phone call when they arrived, but no one phoned to let me know. They wanted me to pay another full amount to ship the packages back again. I took them with me instead. Went to send packages. Exorbitant price of $100 to send 2 small boxes. Tried to void the transaction with the tellers. Had to wait a LONG time behind a customer with a dozen packages when the other teller could have swapped or something to help us. Never using this place again. read more

Wow, maybe the worst service I have ever received from one of these places. Always great customer service from previous stores I have been to. But this place...wow. If I knew my way around town (I am here in vacation) I would have surely went somewhere else. Charge me $1.99 to email them a label. Called it a 'click' fee. Um isn't email free? Then we tried to hand do a label to avoid the 1.99 fee and they do not know how to print from corp accounts, pretty sure that is basic training since every single UPS store I have ever used was able to do this. I just want to say that I see these other reviews on this website and have to believe that they have never dealt with this store before. My name is Robbie, I am an antique buyer and I ship rare fragile items all over the world. Recently I bought items and had this store pack and ship to me. Absolutely the best service I have received from any UPS in the country. They packed antique ceramic clocks for me. When I received the clocks the boxes were completely beat up, but because of their careful packing everything was unscathed! I just had another rare clock sent to me last week and they meticulously built basically a cardboard shield for the clock and it also arrived perfectly. I am very impressed. Worst customer service ever! They will nickel and dime you for everything because they claim the are a 'franchise', not a real UPS location. Don't go in looking for customer service as a UPS account holder either. They will just send you off the to real UPS location if you want that level of customer service. Places like this give UPS a bad rep. UPS should set a level of expected service to allow franchises to carry their name and branding. read more

I needed to return my DISH cable box, but DISH sent me the wrong shipping container. However, the clerk at UPS in Oneonta was fantastic. She took some time to use that container that DISH provided because I had already attached the pre-paid label. She somehow managed to fit the remote control device and other parts into that box. Finally, she taped everything up perfectly. I appreciate the extra mile this UPS clerk went to. read more

The actual delivery service itself is fine, my packages got out on time but the SERVICE AT THE COUNTER was some of the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. I walked in with two packages to be shipped and the female worker (couldn't catch her name because she wasn't wearing a name tag) was absolutely horrible and rude. She had black eyeliner on, very thin eyebrows and what seemed like short-ish hair. She was practically YELLING at someone on the phone about a delivery that wasn't picked up and instead of just asking me to wait for a second until she was done with her phone call, which I was doing, she rudely motioned me toward the desk while never missing a beat on the phone. She then began slamming my packages around on the scale and counter and gave me a dirty look and annoyed breath out when she saw I had two labels on one of the packages (I was returning a school book and didn't see the other side of the package with the old label). Instead of either removing it for me or asking me to cover it up, she raised her voice at me, while still on the phone, and said "well we can't ship with two labels can we"... "you have to cover that up, I can't do anything with this, why would you have two labels on one package".... embarrassed, I tried to apologize for the labels but she SUSHED me and continued yelling at a guy on the phone. Still ringing me up, she tossed my packages very aggressively on the counter (one of them had a candle holder in it) and began yelling for another girl working there to see if she could remember the name of the guy she was supposed to be talking to on the phone. She kept saying "what the hell is his name?". After the whole event, still on the phone, she looks at me and says "you're done" and motions me to back away from the desk. I am not one to complain of service often but this was absolutely appalling and I honestly hope she is spoken to or removed from the front of the store. I get everyone has bad days, and maybe the shipping crisis was really that terrible, but I will CERTAINLY never be going back to this UPS again. Absolutely unacceptable read more
