I've been to this location 4 times trying to get important documents printed out. Sometimes they come through, sometimes they don't - that's not acceptable business practice. I can understand your internet being slow on one occasion, maybe even two, but FOUR??? This location is also always super busy and although the staff isn't outright rude, it's apparent they'd really rather be any place else. If you value what you're shipping, take it elsewhere. I purchased a sculpture at auction that needed to be shipped to TN from their shop. Pickup (also in Hudson), packing, insurance and shipping was $149.00. The sculpture (I paid over $1K and with a little work the sculpture is estimated at 4-5 X's that), was bubble wrapped - single layer - and placed into ONE box that was several inches too small. Not even double boxed. The bubble wrapped sculpture protruded through the taped openings in the box! Guaranteed I'll be contacting the auctioneer to remove them from their list, if they value their out-of-state customers. read more

This UPS Store in Hudson, New York is SUPER! I won some auction items at Stair Galleries, & this was one of the locations recommended to pick up & ship items. They were the nicest people, knew exactly what to do & made everything easy for me in California. They packed everything so well, everything came to me in perfect condition, & even less than the estimated costs. I couldn't be any happier!!! The staff here is definitely not customer oriented; they appear by their actions that they couldn't care less how many people are waiting, they'll be one person at the counter and a couple chatting away while the line gets bigger. They have no concept of customer service and appear to believe the customers are there to serve the staff. Asking the staff a question is considered abuse. Unless you want to get aggravated every time you go in there, waiting in a long line while staff are doing non essential things, like shredding, stay away. The staff appears not to like their jobs or their customers as noted in at least one other review below. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Amazon seems to allow UPS returns but not returns at Kohl's anymore. Since November I have had issues with 2 returns. My first return back in November was 3 items- 2 were the same item. After dropping off, I immediately got an Amazon email that my return had been dropped off. Fast forward a couple of months, I think nothing of the return as I had already gotten a refund early on, and I get an email from Amazon that they never received the 2 items that were the same and I was charged again. What? How does that even happen? I reached out to Amazon and they rectified the situation. Now it's February and I'm having yet ANOTHER issue with a return from here. This time I never even got an email that the item was dropped off for a return! The item on my Amazon says nothing other than a return was started and the code to have them scan at the store. Next time I think I'll spend $8 to have UPS pick up, or I will be going to the Staples store. This UPS store is a joke. read more

$800 item arrived badly broken into two large pieces. Store representative responded to the news by explaining that they can no longer use foam peanuts when packing due to NY State law. Begs the question: Can the store not properly source enough good-quality packing material of another type to insure adequate packaging? read more

These folks (UPS Store #5539) promised to wrap and send an article of furniture (a handmade children's rocking horse) by 5pm, but they "didn't have time"--so they actually shipped it the following Monday (having subsequently promised to ship it by Saturday). They recorded the weight as 180 pounds, but the article actually weighed less than 50; the difference cannot possibly be accounted for by packing peanuts! The manager has been unhelpful and curt, saying the original agent "misspoke," by which she means lied. They charged $200 more than the online price, owing to the inflated weight. You can do better. They do not honor their commitments, they overcharge, and they offer poor customer service. It gets worse. In spite of assurances that they would send this as an "unsolicited gift," here's what the recipient (my niece) says: "The horse has cleared customs and I'm now waiting on a delivery date. UPS has been horrifying in all of this, they should never have allowed you to ship it freight as it's then considered a commercial product. I managed to talk them out of making me hire a broker to get it into Canada, and had a friend clear it since I'm out of town and they charged her $45CAD in taxes. If you can get ups to return any of your shipping for their mistake (which they admitted to me on the phone) you should!!" I complained to UPS; they told me this was a franchise, and referred me to another e-mail address: customerrelations@upsstore.com. Those people did not reply for more than a month, then referred me back to Jessica at the UPS store. We recently utilized this UPS shipping store to ship some antique items that were acquired at a nearby auction house. We found this UPS store to be very responsive and super quick in getting me a shipping quote. They were equally as quick in picking up my auction items at the local auction house and packing them safely for shipment to me on the west coast. The items arrived safely and well packed. Fabulous. I had originally contacted the UPS shipping store in Kingston, NY at the recommendation of the auction house. I contacted the Kingston store twice via phone within a few days time only to get "we will get back to you - we are very busy". It took 2 weeks to finally get a quote emailed to me from the Kingston UPS store. By then my items had arrived safely to my door step as packed and shipped by the Hudson, NY UPS store. DO NOT USE THIS UPS! i bought a set of old 1930s steel patio chairs at ny auction & immediatley contacted this UPS with weight, size of chairs etc to price their shipping rates. so, i receive an invoice from "jessica" stating that they will need to be crated and shipped for about $1000 (which is about 3x the cost of the chairs themselves). so, i email back & say that they are in rough shape and don't need crating & , and in the meantime, look up UPS rates online & find they could be shipped for about $240. "jessica" never email back... i finally shipped them thru an indep. shipper for $250.... after looking at the reviews for this particular ups store, notice that a lot of people have written negative reviews. i use ups for my business/personal a lot & have never before had someone try to gouge me for money or turn away good auction business... read more

I just had an extremely unpleasant experience in the UPS Store. I brought in 5 pages to be xeroxed. I asked for 100 copies of each page. They collated two pages. I said I had not asked for the pages to be collated. They said the machine did it. I said please separate them into two separate groups. They said we will have to charge you for that. I spent 45 minutes manually correcting their errors and counting the pages to make sure there very no further mistakes. The boss and the 2 other employees were rude and unhelpful. After i complained they went to the very back of the store and stayed there until I left. read more

I don't usually give out poor reviews but today is an exception. I was disappointed with the fact the store closed earlier than their posted hour. My recommendation would be if it is a holiday weekend, call ahead to be sure they will be open so you don't waste time driving there (25 min. one way) to be let down. read more

This store and Manager(Jessica) should be ashamed!! I've been a customer for years and after today I will no longer use this location. I'm a business owner in Catskill(16 miles away) I regularly drop off large boxes at this location because it's the closest drop off for large boxes. Today I drove the 16 miles in the pouring rain and when I got to the UPS on Fairview in Hudson, I realized The box was coming open, So I asked if they could tape it for me, and was told by the girl at the register that they charged $1.00 to use the tape. I didn't have my wallet, every now and then I run out and for get it. I explained I don't have my wallet, I paid $140 to ship the box 3day select to California, I paid online and didn't have my wallet , Can you make an exception, I drove 16 miles!!!. NO!!, can I speak to the manager. Manager come over with attitude,,,, I explain what's going. I ask her to make an exception... NO!!(with attitude). So I go outside in the pouring rain and find $1 and dirty change under my seats. Go back in to pay, She tapes the box and with a smile ask me if I want a receipt!!!! read more

This location is awesome. This was my first time here. I usually go to the actual UPS distribution center a half mile away. I had an issue there which I will detail in a review of that location. The people at this UPS Store on Fairview Avenue are outstanding. When I entered the store I was greeted by several staff members. James was behind the counter... He answered all of my questions in a professional and courteous manner and assured me that my package would be scanned in immediately. He also explain some of the other services that were offered, including the acceptance of United States Postal Service packages which I did not know about, as he issued me my receipt for my package. As I was leaving, I noticed James helping another customer to their car with a rather large, heavy package. He performed this task professionally and enthusiastically. He made me and the other customers feel valued. This place is a welcome alternative to the seemingly unsecured UPS facility nearby here. I highly recommend if you are shipping anything be it UPS, USPS, or whatever, that you come to the store. read more

I was shipping Christmas presents to Florida. I went to the UPS store on a Saturday 12/16/17. Was told it would arrive on Wednesday 12/20/17. When I went online to track the item I realized the clerk had put the wrong zip code in and it was going to SC instead. When I called the UPS Store in Hudson they said because I had signed that it was the correct address I would have to pay $130.00 for next day air so that it would arrive by Christmas and even then there was no guarantee. Then she called me back to say there was nothing that could be done because it was still in UPS hands. UPS in SC got the correct zip code and was going to ship it to Florida but, it was not going to get there by Christmas. I have shipped to the correct address numerous times and it should have come up in their computers when I gave them my phone number. The name of the recipient and the street address were correct and I overlooked the fact that the city and state were incorrect. I have never shipped anything to SC so, I don't know why the clerk had to put in the zip code which was put in incorrectly. As of right now I am so upset that my family is not going to get their Christmas presents on time that I will not use this facility again. read more
