Here's what's good about Staples: the tech manager Illya! Having internet problems at home, researching in an area I am entirely ignorant about (all things internet) I read about routers, and picked one and Illya helped me and talked me into a better one and . . . explained why! That made me feel confident I was purchasing the right product for my needs. Very, very helpful. He assured me I could even open up the router and try hooking up before the Mid-Hudson cable tech guy came and . . . return an open box. He even wrote his name on the receipt in case he was not there when I tried to return. While he was ringing me up, I did a quick check on Amazon, and he matched the price. So: I suggest an Amazon search and request a price match. My Mid-Hudson cable tech later told me Staples inflates prices on its tech products, so that's a good suggestion to run an Amazon price check before ringing out at Staples. And what this saved me was the misery of shopping at Walmart and the feared hell that would be Walmart returns if that were needed. read more

I love the manager at thisbstore.! What a breathe of fresh air for our community. She is always so pleasant and caring for everyone. She always makes a way out of no way. She has a strong team who are truly happy. I hope she never leaves our town. Thank you for everything she does for our community with her donations. She supports the fire department, police department and EMS not excluding the thousands of dollars to the school district. Love this store because of the family feel we get every time we go there. read more

I went in here yesterday, not really looking for anything in particular. Although I went out without anything, I was able to get a short vantage point of this store. I looked through the pens and computers and even stopped to look at computer keyboards. I went quickly through the binder areas and the shelving units towards the back of the store. (With Staples you end up with two designs in the way the rows are set up, and this store ended up with an older design. On most stores, there are several rows on the right side, but these rows here are straight back from the front doors (showing the older design of the place).) But, through it all, I wasn't able to find anything purchase-worthy in my budget. Price-wise, it's much like any other Staples store. The employees didn't try to stop to greet or talk with me much. The few I passed were stocking the store shelves. For the few I passed, they did say Good morning to me as I was the first customer that walked through the doors that morning; and that was one of their good traits of this visit. Having been there before (the last trip was many years before), I knew about this location, but hadn't been into this location in a while, so I thought I'd try it again. The only drawback I found was that it's placed in an area that is mostly the site of a "deadbeat mall" that is loosing stores left and right. The only good thing this mall has going (besides this Staples location) is the Tractor Supply and Hudson Movieplex (part of Regal Cinemas, although branding wasn't shown on the doors). I don't know. If I'm ever in the area and this location is open and I have a bigger budget or something I'm desperately looking for that I can't find anywheres else, I MIGHT try here. read more

FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES! I went to Staples, Hudson to make copies of several flyers. I was shocked at the expensive price but only when I got home did I review the receipt. There was an unexplained charge of $42 dollars. I called the store, and they told me it was a surcharge for doing my job as a "rush job" above all other jobs! First of all, there was NO ONE in the store because it was Memorial Day. Second of all, NO ONE told me they were tacking on so much money or even gave me a choice if I wanted what they call "a rush job." I would have been happy to come back rather than pay that amount of money for nothing. I was so angry that the clerk on the phone said they would refund the $42. But it was only AFTER I screamed that they agreed to do the refund. The clerk admitted, "A lot of people have trouble with this charge." No Kidding! Anyway, I did get the refund in my next credit card statement. But, Buyer Beware!!! read more

Very bad experience with employee and manager. She couldn't fix a problem I had with the copier, which apparently does not default to zero in between customers, so I was charged for hundreds of extra copies,. She could not stop the machine from doing this, but she watched and then charged me anyway. This manager, Karol, was also extremely rude to me. She insisted on calling me terms of endearment such as "Honey", "Hon", etc, despite my repeated requests to be treated with respect. Staples in Hudson is not a good place. read more

I needed to replace a printer quickly, and after checking online that the Hudson, NY Staples had a printer I would probably buy, on sale, I drove there. A staff member asked me after a few minutes of looking at printers, if I needed help. I told him I was just looking, and he left me alone. Several minutes later, I sought out a staff member to answer a few questions, and quickly found someone to help who knew printers quite well. I explained my situation, (occasional use in a country house) and he said the Brother laser printer I had seen online was probably my best choice. Inkjet printers dry up without regular use, he said, and I knew, from experience. He also assured me of something I probably already knew. If your house has no land-line, buying a printer with the capability of sending or receiving faxes will not work for you. When I went to check out, a Staples employee noted I was waiting on a line with ONE person ahead of me, and offered to check me out faster at another register. My experience at the Hudson Staples was incredibly positive. There are people who work there are amazingly responsive to customer needs. read more
