It is convenient and the people are nice. If you are shipping add a day to your expected delivery date (at least if you are dropping things off in the afternoon). I have had them send stuff out twice for me recently. Despite dropping the items off before 2pm in both instances the envelopes didn't go out until the next day. I came here at 8:30am and waited around and no one is here and it isn't open. I've been waiting now for 10 minutes and still no one.

For what should've been an (at most) $5 print job cost me $20 because the staff was so unresponsive, unhelpful, and passive aggressive. Some of it was my fault because I didn't know how the machine worked but literally no people were in the shop and they couldn't be bothered to help me. I kept asking them for assistance and all I got was the dude pointing from behind his desk saying "you should've done x, y, z" after I swiped my credit card. It was like they were trying to scam me? Withholding information with every gosh darn credit card swipe I did because I was so confused and needed help. Anyways: I asked for wifi bc there was no cell service to verify me on Google and he just shrugged me off as if I should've known. Because of this I ran out of time which shuts you out and makes you do another session. I didn't know how to extend time and he still didn't come over to actually show me how to do anything. So yup, I had to pay again and for some reason it extended time to 30 minutes.. I could not subtract that time and was forced to pay $20. Then I printed in the wrong color. I get it I'm bad at this but they condescended me saying "there was literally an option for that" (which was not that obvious imo ) Finally as I walk over the printer which is glitching and not printing (the man sees me struggling with it) I just pressed random buttons and prayed it worked. I finally get my colored prints. Like a bad SNL skit, the dude finally comes to my computer and points to where it said color and he goes "see there's the color." It was so infuriating. Like now you come over when I have my prints done? After 20 minutes of me struggling and wasting money? It almost seems like he did it just to prove a point. Which would be so rude yet unsurprising. It's convenient to the 72nd Street B/C subway station and I got in and out easily enough but it IS tiny and you'll probably have to wait in line unless you're just returning something with a prepaid return label + don't need a receipt. I was here in the middle of a weekday (maybe around 2 pm) so I can't speak for how quickly you'd get done or how crowded it is at other times of the day. read more

This review is several months overdue. In May of this year I was moving out of my NYC apartment to my new place in Los Angeles. I brought about a dozen boxes to this location on 72nd Street to be shipped. The staff were incredibly professional and courteous and handled all of my needs flawlessly. Omar in particular was extremely helpful. Chris also really helped make a difficult move seamless and easy. Several of the things which I shipped were vintage stereo equipment. All of my items arrived in LA in a timely fashion. And, thanks to their expert packing skills, everything was delivered to my door in perfect condition and not damaged. I agree with the other reviewer. One star is way too much for this UPS store. I had a mailbox here for three years and would NOT advise anyone to spend the money for a box here. They charge a fortune for a small mailbox, but what is worse is that they are supposed to open at 9am and are NEVER open on time. The staff has an attitude and is lazy. They returned a package to sender because they were too lazy to let me know that I had a package arrive. I just tracked down my package and have to have it re-sent. The sender JUST informed me that the package had been opened and re-taped. The UPS store opened my package which is quite upsetting. I don't know where to begin. -Customer service sucked, generally speaking -Every other UPS place I've been to will pack your shipment for you but this place had no such service. . -I was told to leave, pack it myself and return because evidently there is no room to do it in the store... it was empty, but those were "the rules". How does this place stay in business? Does NO ONE read the reviews here? I called them yesterday asking for the price to ship a turntable. I gave them the weights, the exact dimensions, the insured amount, the zip code it was going to, and the way I wanted it packed (double boxed). I was given a firm price of $64 for everything. I actually asked, "Is this an estimate that can change, or is it a firm price?" I was told it was a firm price. After all, what could change? They had all the information. So, I told my ebay buyer to send $64 for shipping, which he did, and I took the turntable into the 72nd Street UPS for packing and shipping. Imagine my surprise when the guy behind the counter told me the total would be $107.55! I told them I had called and given all the correct information, how could they be so far off in their price? At that point, the woman manager behind the counter got involved and said no quoted prices were reliable, that until you were physically standing in the store, they would guarantee a cost. I told her that's why I asked the guy on the phone if the price was firm or just an estimate. She just shrugged and looked away. So now I've walked twenty blocks in the rain with this heavy turntable, what am I supposed to do? Of course, I was coerced into paying their usurious charge, even though it was nearly DOUBLE what I had been quoted on the phone. I think what made me more angry than anything, though, was how little the employees or the manager cared about what had happened. I mean, if you owned that business, wouldn't you at least APOLOGIZE for the mistake of your employee and say something like "I'll have to talk to him and make sure he doesn't make that mistake again, so that we don't keep pissing off customers like you"? Instead, it was just, "Eh, whatever." So, UPS manager lady and your band of fools, don't look for any more business from me. I had four people in front of me and like a man with octopus arms he got everyone out of there in three to four minutes. i needed a label printed for returning a package to amazon. They asked me for $3.40 cents to print it. I would have to login in their computer for $3.00 for 8 minutes minimum and then extra .40 cents for printing. Other UPS stores lets you email them the label and they can print it for you. Not this one! They were inflexible and stuck to their guns. read more

Wonderful experience. I regret that I didn't get the name of the UPS employee who helped me at the store just now. This was my first time using this uws location and I'll be back. I stopped by to pick up a Target box. It was light, but huge, so I asked if he wouldn't mind if I unpack it in the store, assuring him that I'd take the box and packaging with me. In January, I paid $117 to have a turntable packaged and shipped from New York to Chicago. The item arrived completely destroyed. Luckily (I thought) I ensured the package. But as of today, my claim has still not been filled by either The UPS Store or UPS. It has been weeks of both run around from both parties (each claiming the other was responsible for the damage) as well as requests for documents that were already filed in the original claim. They just wanted to sell their products, which were insanely expensive, so i go out and find a box outside to put my stuff in, then they wanted to charge $2 to put a strip of tape on top. Moving to the upper Westside has been a mixed bag. Living steps away from Central Park, Lincoln Center, Riverside Park and Trader Joe's are all positives. The negatives are the throngs of tourists and tour buses that line 72nd Street on Saturdays and now the UPS store located at 119 West 72nd Street. As soon as I walked in the woman (not Crystal the other one with a hard to pronounce and spell name) appeared to instantly have an attitude. There were two other people in the store who were receiving pleasant and prompt service - they were white. However, when it was my turn she was gruff, curt and rude. Its sad that still in 2011 people are disgustingly ignorant. Maybe she is limited in her mental capacity? Maybe she is not very intelligent? Maybe she doesn't like herself? Either way, DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. Walk the extra 2 blocks up Amsterdam Ave to the other UPS location. The service is better, the people are nice to everyone - regardless of the color of their skin. How novel?"
