Waste of time. Horrible Customer Service Do not trust this location. I went in there to get my already paid for shipping label. The dude who was leaned over the counter twiddling his thumbs, told me I had to spend time and pay multiple fees in order to print it myself there. He told me I had to print it. The fees came to the shipping cost of the already paid for package. Ridiculous. I asked him again, Is there any other way to print this label. He told me no. I called the nearest store to that location and the associate working there told me he was have it ready for me when I get there for a dollar. This store is exactly what you need, when you need it. I have never had a problem with this store's performance. I have seen other reviews griping about the other parts of this company, which are not under control of this "office always at your disposal". Snow in Chicago delaying deliveries is not under their control, and any well-meaning person should appreciate that and not complain about the "point of sale". The staff was friendly and helpful and they offer items some folks don't have including printer, fax, computer, desktop publishing advice--as I say, an extra office for those who need it. Folks who complain about a couple dimes extra for a package or packing tape do not understand that "nothing is free" and their being available for us when we choose means they have to pay rent and salaries for that dependability. ((Interestingly, if they were on the other end as the merchant, clearly they would be doing the same charges so that they would not lose money.)) They minimize errors with a separate document handed back to customers to validate correctly input shipping info which now requires a signature by the sender approving those details. By all measures, they have done Best Management Practices for the "local" person just as a Fortune 500 company would implement. read more

I shipped a package to California for someone in the U.S. Marines. The gentleman at the store told me the price would be $47.- for a small package. I later find out that it cost $27.- for the package to be sent. He charged me double to send the package. The Girl Scout troop that sent this package were ripped off an extra $20.- because of this. Way to go Ups of Middletown for ripping off not only the Girl Scout but also someone fight for your freedom. The owner of this franchise, Ed, is the absolute worst! He has no clue what customer service is and is one of the rudest individuals I have ever came across in my entire life. He is an embarrassment to the UPS brand and should not be able to represent them. Trust me when I say that the only reason this guy is in business is because he's the only show in town. He has a disgusting attitude and very poor service. I have only been to this store once and I'll never be back. I'll travel 20 minutes out of my way to give another UPS franchise my business and money. Avoid this store. If you rent a mailbox here, they charge $5.20 just to print out a UPS label on plain paper for mail forwarding. Then they charge another $3 just for the envelope. Isn't it enough that I pay to rent a mailbox every month? I use four other UPS Stores in Delaware for my associate's businesses and this is the only one that charges to print out a label from my account, just because they aren't making money ripping customers off with the retail shipping rate. There's also a problem with the store's address itself. Some companies and banks use the USPS address matching system and whatever way you input your mailbox address on some websites, it will remove the box number. read more

I been to several UPS stores and believe the reviews on this one. The owner is one of the rudest people, I can't believe he actually owns a business. They have dirty tactics to try and get more money out of you. shipped some paperwork and they put in one of there envelopes and charge you for it. Repeating "we're a franchise and have nothing to do with tracking" is a lame slogan for a shipping business! 7/11/18 - Took a package with a prepaid label into this store and it was SCANNED and left for shipment. Two weeks later, Adidas had no record of a return. I went back to this store and a clerk said "we're independently owned and can't help with lost packages". Seemed like nonsense because I had the UPS tracking number that had been scanned at THAT store! I asked if the package could possibly still be there. Without checking, the clerk said, "No, because everything goes out the same day and nothing is stored here". He repeated there was nothing he could do and gave me an 800# to call. I called the # and 2 weeks later (after a BOGUS UPS investigation yielded nothing), I was advised to go back to this store "for help"??? 8/13/18 - I went back to this store and spoke to the owner, Ed. He said there was nothing he could do because they were "a franchise" and I needed to call UPS. I told him the package had been scanned at this store but hadn't made it to the UPS hub; could it still be there, etc., and he said "the drivers don't sign a pick-up log so there was no way to prove the package had left the store, but that's the process". I said the package was scanned in this store and that info must go somewhere. He admitted it goes into a daily tracking log. I asked if he could check that log and at first he refused, saying it "won't help". I told him it would help my son get his $88.20 back and gave him the tracking number. After a few minutes of "looking" through the log he said it wasn't there. Convenient. It was clear from the beginning, he didn't intend to help find the package even though it had been left at his store. What good are tracking #s if they aren't used to TRACK packages?! Why does UPS refer customers back to the stores if these owners feel ZERO obligation to help customers? What a scam this UPS owner (and UPS) is running. read more

I WOULD LEAVE ZERO STARS. Went in for copies...just needed to go in email for 30 seconds to print off item and was told I have to pay 5 dollars to get online. The owner was there and stated he would rather lose business than make a change. I was willing to pay 1.50 to get online for 30 seconds and then pay for color copies. Not to mention I called several times to find out pricing info and got no answer. Left a voice mail and got no return call. Wasted my whole lunch break. Went to the store and was going to send a overnite parcel..Customer service was horrible, acted as if I were taking to long a time to pay when I did not have correct account info..Patience is considered customer service, not eye rolling at me, especially when there is 3 people working there and no one else in line. The staff is unorganized, inefficient, and can't handle it when more than three or so people are in the store. In addition, half of them don't know how to operate the copy machines which seem to not ever be working the way they are supposed to. The owner gets short with you if you correct him on anything he's gotten wrong. To top it off, I stopped there to ship something and noticed the 2 inches of tape seal was broken on my box. When I asked for a small piece of tape, they wanted $2. I walked over to a neighboring store who taped the whole box up for me for free and commented that I was the second person from the UPS store that came in that day for the same thing. And their prices are just high. The local USPS store, though who's hours are not as convenient, is friendlier, more knowledgeable, and cheaper. read more

Friday, December 2 around 6:00 p.m. I entered the store to pick-up two packages that I intentionally routed to this store. I was met by a very pleasant lady who of course asked to see a valid ID. I provided her a driver's license. Since I recently moved to DE, I did not have my NJ driver's license updated to reflect a DE address. However, the pleasant young lady had no issue with my LEGAL & VALID ID, now here appears TOM. Tom starts off by saying I cannot pick-up MY packages because the address was different, he then asserted that the license technically is not a legal form of ID and the address must match - per UPS policy. Tom was rude, inconsiderate and could not see past the address. Needlessness to say, UPS customer service was okay with me showing another document that had the address and my name. TOM don't you worry, I will NEVER patronage your store again. I will also make certain I share the lovely experience with the national UPS chain. read more

I not to this ups store to send a fax. After calling the office to see if they received it for the next 3 hours, they kept saying no. I went to the local bank and tried sending it. The office said they received that one. When I went back to the ups store to explain, they said no refund. I said I paid you for a service you didn't complete, they said sorry, no refund. This is bad business. You would think to make a customer happy, they would believe me and not call me a liar. I wouldn't use this store for anything after the way I was treated, I hope you don't either.l I didn't return to the store because after 4 hours of the office not receiving the fax, I went to my bank and they sent it, and it arrived within minutes. I went back to the ups the next day because I was in town anyway, 17 miles from my house, and stopped in to tell them what happened, that when the manager told me they weren't responsible, it said ok, that's all he has to go on. Well this is one time it didn't send and he is so many words said tough shit. Sometimes as a reputable business, you should take the customers word and try to make them happy, he did neither. So why would I have them try to resend when the office already received the one from my bank? After reading other comments about this store, I see many other people had problems too and the two males working there always have a smart ass answer in reply. Never ship anything from here, always use FedEx if you want your package to arrive safely. The owner of thie store is a dishonest, rude man. I shipped a very valuable item from this store and the packaging arrived without the item inside. He submitted a claim and was reimbursed even though I paid for the insurance yet he has not paid me. He is truly bad person, stay away. I will be making a complaint with the BBB, Attorney General's Office anf the State Insurance Commissioner and I am calling UPS corporate headquaters as I write this. read more

This store merits a full five star rating on all levels. Everyone of the negative ratings demonstrates an inappropriate perception that all things must be free to them "because they want it". This small business offers quick access of an office for all services for small fees that are not available anywhere else. Imagine having a friend do you a favor and he might do it for free, but then multiply it by 200 as it would take all day to do those 200 friends' favors. You, if you understand the definition of friend, would want fees generated for his time, rent, payroll, and materials. This small business is not a charity!! This absolute worse UPS Store that I've ever encountered. I needed to affix a small note on the side of my package. They wanted to charge $2 for tape. When I asked if that was a new UPS policy, the woman replied "I don't know what other people do, but you can take your package someplace else". I did just that and I'll surely let the UPS corporate know that they just lost a personal and business customer considering the number of complaints and no remediation. read more

Dropped off a box that had a pre paid shipping label and was charged a $2.00 fee for dropping it off and 5 inches of tape. When I asked about the charge I was told "it is for the tape I had to put on the box". The man thought he was funny and couldn't understand why I was baffled by the extra fee. I could have wrapped the box in an entire roll of tape for that price. Bad customer service and hidden fees = never using this store again. read more

This store over charges for packages. Shipped a package that we sold on eBay. Ebay said the package would be $64 to ship through UPS and he charged over $100. Package only weighed 40 pounds but they said because it was a larger box they said they have to charge the price for 70 pounds. BS. Unfortunately these stores are independently owned so they can do whatever. Customer service is poor. Stay away from this place. read more

I visited this store to drop off a prepaid package. I asked if it would help if I added a fragile label on the package to safeguard the contents. Tom who is very rude told me that It does not make a difference as to the way the package would be handled with or without the fragile label and just to prove he forcefully pushed my package to the floor with no regard as to the contents. I complained right away, he went on to apologize after another employee intervened. He offered to give me "free drop off". This whole time he thought this was funny. OMG!!! I went into this store on January 5th 2015 at approx. 2:30 PM to send an item I got for Christmas back. The woman that waited on me was so drunk I could not understand a word she said. She had a glitter flower in her hair and glitter all over her face. She was a complete drunken mess. Never seen anything like it in my life! I will never go near this store again. I am praying my package gets to it's destination. The receipt was correct so I hope I'm ok. At first I thought she may have had a mental handicap which I would have welcomed but then I smelled the alcohol and then she tried to give me her watch for the week. LOL!! read more

Terrible customer service and way over charged. $9.50 EACH for 2 seperate boxes to ship someting because they didn't have 1 box big enough even though what I was shipping was a standard size. Plus another $5.00 for "service"...what??? The $24.00 didn't include actual shipping costs. Luckily those where paid by the company I was shipping to. So $24.00 just for boxes and wrapping. Outrageous. Not to mention the service was terrible and they told me something completly different on the phone. Will not use this store again ever. read more
