I rented a po box 110/1/26 and went back 10/3/26 to cancel it because I did not need it. (Garwood,…read moreNJ post office) I paid a total of $93 and was given a money order in return for $52.50 and was told the remainder was for a processing fee. I never used the box or received any mail. I was told by the manager Tiffany and another employee that this is how their system is set up and there is nothing they can do about it. (BS all the way). I have written the higher ups and awaiting an answer. I have used several po boxes in other towns and this never happened. It cannot be legal. I will fight it all the way. Any advice, let me know. I wrote the Postal Regulatory Commission, USPS Office of Inspector and Government Accountability Office. I am a 100% disabled United States Air Force Veteran and I rely solely on my one check from them. Money don't come easy and we are living in hard times. I do not have $40.50 to just give a way for a bogus processing fee. I am holding onto the money order and receipt they gave me and my bank statement showing that the $93 was paid to them and they only want to return $52.50. This is hogwash in the first degree.

I explained the difficulties and frustration I experienced during my afternoon visit and shared that, historically, my husband and I have received exceptional service from the evening team. Both employees listened attentively, clearly explained the printing process, and offered sincere apologies for the confusion, delays, and poor experience I had encountered earlier. Their professionalism, courtesy, and willingness to assist reflected the level of customer service I have come to expect from Staples and highlighted the significant contrast between my afternoon and evening experiences. Additionally, when I arrived to pick up my print order, I noticed that my name had been written on the order in decorative lettering resembling a horror or Halloween-themed font, complete with what appeared to be dripping blood effects. Under different circumstances, this may have been intended as a harmless or creative embellishment. However, given the frustration, lack of professionalism, and negative interactions I had already experienced earlier that day, I found it inappropriate and unsettling. At a minimum, it demonstrated poor judgment. I also learned that Charles, the individual who represented himself as the manager when my husband specifically requested to speak with a manager, is in fact a supervisor and not the store manager. I am particularly concerned by this apparent misrepresentation. When a customer requests to speak with a manager, they should either be provided access to the appropriate manager or be clearly informed of the employee's actual role and title. Transparency and honesty are essential components of effective customer service and are critical to maintaining customer As a customer, I believe this situation warrants serious attention to ensure that future customers receive the level of service, professionalism, and respect that Staples strives to provide. I have an eBay store I sell quite a bit on so I know exactly how I want to send everything, the prices, etc. The Cashier actually had the nerve to tell me not to send so many items at once, that it's inconvenient to the customers behind me. 8 items is not a lot, especially when they are small, and only need to be weighed and stickered. Not to mention, there is nothing mentioning a Maximum Parcel Limit. She was just lazy, and didn't want the 1 person behind me to wait too long. Then I told her that I'd like to ship everything through First Class with tracking.. She gets to one package that's a touch over the limit so it needed to be changed to priority (no big deal).. but then the item after it gets changed to priority, then the next, then the next.. I stopped her because the packages were very small and yet being charged as priority. She looks at her screen and realizes that she set everything to priority instead of first class -___- Now who's making the customers wait? She had to reweigh everything and resticker them. Then she couldn't remove the mistaken charges, so she had to charge my card for everything, and refund me after. Worst experience ever. I get that this is a small post office, and perhaps the cashier isn't used to seeing more than a package or 2 come in at a time, but this was ridiculous. Also, she forgot to change one of the items back to first class.. so I was charged $7.05 for priority, instead of the $3 it would've cost to send through first class. And there's nothing I can do about it now.. -__-

One thing to note is that the store is right besides the street but the parking situation is handled well. There's street parking right outside the location and also a private lane besides where you could park. The staff was knowledgeable, there's social distancing with proper masks guidelines followed and you're in and out within a few minutes. In the end, it was a hassle free experience.
