A postal truck worker drove up, went inside, came out and told everyone that he was told that the staff were on break. Several times when I go inside this post office I hear a woman telling people that she is the post master. A Jamaican staff worker named Diane keeps asking for a tip after service. There is no one to reach either. Central customer service says you have to speak to the local branch for holds but there is no longer a local branch, they said all carriers come from Edison. This is terrible.

Service is erratic, you never know when you may get mail during the day, anywhere from around 10 AM…read moreto 7:30 PM. Then there are days when you get no mail at all even though you have a newspaper being delivered daily...you never get it. You have outgoing mail that is never picked up by the mailperson, and you find it still in your mailbox the next day. Sellers tell you that your item was delivered to the Post Office, but you never get it! Bring back the local Post Office where I never had problems like this and we knew our mailpersons by name and had a repour with them.

She gave me attitude when I rang the bell for service after I heard her in the back room talking loudly and in 'hood lingo on her cellphone. There was no one else in the lobby and I stood there for about 2 or 3 minutes and rang the bell twice. Another time she gave me attitude and a nasty response when I asked her about where a return receipt of a certified letter should be placed on an envelope. She barked at me, "Do you work here?! I know where it goes!" That did it for me! The next time I went to that post office and saw her standing behind the counter, I turned right back around and walked out! I drove to the post office in Highland Park and will continue to do so from now on!!

They have a large facility so parking space is never a challenge and the staff are nice and friendly and they check you out sooner too. The sad thing is, most of the employees who work there actually seem to care about their jobs and want to provide good service. Yes, you read that correctly. MOST OF THESE POSTAL EMPLOYEES MEAN WELL AND ARE TRYING HARD! Unfortunately, there are two employees who seem to have little, if any, interest in doing any work. Their laziness and sheer incompetence sabotages the good work the rest of the staff does! Think this is just sour grapes? Fine. I'll provide you with examples. - I arrive at the post office around 1:00 pm. It is lunch time, so I am expecting to wait. Miraculously, there is only one person in line and one person being helped at the counter. The postal employee finishes taking care of the customer at the counter, but a friend of the employee's happens to show up then. The friend walks directly up to employee and they begin a lengthy, personal conversation. No postal business is transacted. After about FIVE MINUTES, another employee comes to the front, notices what is going on, and immediately helps the two of us in line. Both of us are out the door in under two minutes. When I left, the gab-fest was still going on. - An older, South Asian gentleman gets to the front of the line. He has completed his customs paperwork, has properly packaged what he needs to mail, and has done the correct paperwork for international package traffic. He speaks limited English, but he tells the clerk exactly what he needs. (I was standing on the other side of the room and I clearly understood him.) Best part? He then hands the clerk EXACT CHANGE for his purchase, before being rung up. He had looked up the cost and was prepared to do business quickly. Rather than helping this guy, the clerk just starts screaming at him for "holding up the line." Unfrickinreal.

This has been happening weekly and its annoying when you are carrying all your packages to be mailed. Inside employees say I Just work here when you ask them. I hate to even give them 1 star.
