    Dear Beth Guididas, and customers of UPS Dunkirk MD I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to you because you are the owner of UPS Store #5405 located in Dunkirk, MD. I am writing to you out of great concern regarding an incident that occurred on your store property involving your store manager. My husband has already filed a complaint with UPS Store HQ regarding the incident and has given you 72 hours to respond. If you are unaware of this complaint let me briefly explain to you the unprofessional manner I was treated by your store manager. On Friday morning, May 7, 2021, I attempted for the first time to send a package to an address with no street number. Your store employee explained that he could send it, but I would be responsible for it not making it to the recipient, etc... I explained to your store employee I would come back after my husband verified the address. I consulted my husband who then confirmed with the company that was the correct address on the package. The recipient has address inside of a industrial park that uses a street name and building number. They also indicated that they receive packages from UPS and FedEx on a daily basis. I then returned back to the store with my two-year-old child in hand to send the package. Your store manager greeted me and asked to verify the recipient's address because there was no street number. I explained that this was the address and he began to refuse to send the package without a street number. I called my husband and placed him on speakerphone. My husband asked the store manager why the first time I entered the store I could send the package but now there was a problem. Your store manager became very belligerent with my husband and stated he was refusing to send the package. They both continued to exchange conversation, but ultimately your store manager said he never sent a package with no street number in the 6 years he worked there and began to kick me and my 2 year old out of the store (check camera footage). I have never been so embarrassed and mistreated for asking to mail a package and refused service for it. I would also like to point out that UPS policy states: Is a validated address required for all shipments tendered to UPS? While not required, we encourage the use of a validated address to help ensure timely and accurate package delivery. Your store manager was asked if his decision was based on policy or opinion and he stated it was UPS policy. I have also consulted a UPS driver and successfully mailed the package in question at another UPS Store and they both stated UPS will mail a package to any address and there is no policy requiring a street number. Your store manager is wrong on two fronts; UPS policy and mistreating a customer. I ask you please to take some kind of action and create a resolution for my complaint. At this point I will also have to get the BBB involved and other oversight watchdogs.
