I would give them 100 stars. I had 2 mini splits installed and the crew showed up at 7:30am and worked till 7pm. They were respectful and professional. They did not run the electric hook up, but I am blessed to have a daughter who is an electrician run the lines. Once she finished, I called them and they came out the next day to run the splits to make sure they worked properly. I am beyond pleased with this company and they are now my HVAC company. The tech was very nice. My AC wasn't working so I called Fixed Right. He said the condensate pump needed to be replaced. Got a second opinion. It wasn't the condensate pump. It was the electrical cord hooked up to the pump that wasn't working. Just an FYI. read more

I recently had Fixed Right & Guaranteed, Owings, MD, check my 2 Heat Pump units. For this service alone I pay $40.00 per month or $480.00 per year. This covers my units being inspected and checked to make sure they are operating properly spring & fall. I am charged for parts on top of that. Both units needed a Definite Purpose Contactor installed. For which FR&G charged me $316.00 each for (the highest price I found was on Amazon) $40.00. This $316.00 dollars included my 15% discount because I am a club member. I called and requested an explanation for charging me 815% on a $40.00 part. I was told by the general manager that they have to pay their employees, cost of vehicle etc. When I got my statement it indicated that if I had paid this as a regular customer, not a club member the cost would be close to $1100.00. This is for a service tech to come out for 3.5 hrs. Remember I had already paid for a tech to come out; this was part of my membership that I paid $40.00 per month for (2 units) Any provider I have worked with will tell you I am fair & considerate of their technicians. I am going to have these parts examined to make sure they are bad units. That may or may not be another story. I was told by Service Manger, Nicki, that the cost of just having someone come out is $127.00 per unit. And that number is right. Average salary for HVAC tech in MD is $86863.00 per year or $32.72 p/hr. So lets use these average figures. Employers cost: Unemployment .30-7.5%; Worker's Comp $0.98 per $100.00 of total payroll; social security 6.2% on gross salary is $5386.00 yr.; Now lets take all these figures and put them into an hourly rate. $32.72 salary p/hr 24.54 unemployment 42.61 workers comp 25.90 social security $125.77 employers cost per hour (I've already paid for this) 40.00 part $165.77 Actual cost per service parts & labor 100.00 60% profit ratio(my figures not theirs on part) $265.77 per hour. It took tech no more than 30 minutes to install parts To install one unit a fair & reasonable cost is $133.00 yet I was charged $316.00 per unit. I didn't even take off 15% for repairs. If I had not been a Club member I was told my actual cost would have been between $1000-$1100 for both units. I want to remind you that I had already paid for the tech to come out & check my units so the only thing I should have been charged for was Parts & Labor to install 2 contactors $266.00 but I was charged $636.00. Apparently HVAC per norm do fixed price charging. A Contactor cost is $316.00 no matter the cost of a part. Now I will say the general price range to have a tech replace a contactor is between $200-$350 but this price includes having the tech come out. I paid for that so the only cost I should have been charged is the part, markup and 30 min. It is your hard earned money, spend it any way you want but don't just accept their charges. Ask questions on how you will be charged, fixed price or per job price and what is their markup or profit margin is? You do have a right to these figures. Since Nov.2019 (units installed 3 yrs, earlier) I have paid a total of $8671.00 to this company; $2591.00 in membership and $6080.00 additional in parts. read more

We wound up having Fixed Right and Guaranteed when are regular service company that we'd used since 1984, went out of business after the Wuhan Flu fiasco. Fixed Right has been outstanding as a regular service company, and the care and honesty they bring to us as customers is some of the best I have seen. When we moved to Calvert County in 2022 my wife consulted the local FB page to see who people recommended for HVAC servicing when our (new to us home) was having an issue. Fixed Right and Guaranteed was highly recommended so we gave them a shot. Every service the team is on-time or early and there is always a notification when they are en route. Recently, the oldest system in the home was on the fritz and while we could have replaced several expensive parts of the system to keep the 16 year old system going we recognized that we were entering "sunk cost" territory. The owner of the company came out the same day we got the diagnosis and presented several different options for us to choose from. There was no pressure to buy and all of the 5 options presented could be modified to what we wanted. We went with a fairly higher end unit to get better efficiency and I am glad we did. The entire install took about 7 hours and we were amazed at how efficient the new unit is. During the install day the house got to 80 degrees and it only took 22 minutes to get back to 73°. There was one small point of contention that I had which was somewhat of a misunderstanding on my part, but a simple phone call and explanation made everything right. I really appreciated the flexibility! I am pleased by the professionalism of the office staff and technicians I have come into contact with. As for our HVAC services, we will be repeat customers. read more

Jake came out, he seemed nice and knowledgeable. Said he needed to order a part and he'd be back next week to fix ac, said it would be easy fix. Ok fine. So we go a week with no ac. in July. 5 days later we call back like hey so, is someone going to schedule the guy to come back? they're like oh WE JUST ORDERED THE PART, it'll be NEXT WEEK. So they set the appointment for today between 9-11am. Ok. So i call off work to be here for the appointment. The office calls me just before 930am-- when they were supposed to be here-- to CANCEL. Claiming that the tech said it's too hot and humid to fix it. HELLO ITS FKING JULY, OF COURSE ITS HOT AND HUMID. You couldn't have told us while you were here that it can't be fixed until autumn??? You had to wait until THE TIME YOU WERE SCHEDULED TO BE HERE TO CANCEL??? This is wildly unprofessional. You caused me to lose $5000.00 today because you're unprofessional, lying, imbeciles. The woman who called to cancel the appointment couldn't even tell me why. Only that the tech said it can't be done. So thanks for absolutely nothing. I have never encountered such unprofessional stupidity in my life-- and it was COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE. As if you didn't know it would hot and humid for the next 2 mos. Lazy liars. Spare yourself the frustration and pay for someone from out of town to come do the job right. "Fixed right and Gauranteed techs" my ass. What a joke. As a business owner, the appropriate response was- " i am so sorry that we did not take the time to let you know that the weather would impact our ability to complete the job that we scheduled and that we waited 5 days to order the parts and that you had to call repeatedly to get an appmt... It was not professional to WAIT UNTIL THE TIME WE WERE SCHEDULED TO BE THERE to cancel the appointment. Seeing as how you had to call off work for the day to be there for us, since we failed to communicate and waited until the last minute to cancel, we understand that this was a huge inconvenience and we hope to earn your business and your trust by doing better moving forward. We have used Fixed Right over the past few years to fix our old HVAC unit and they were always honest fair and knowledgeable. When that old 20 year old unit life span was over we got a few quotes for a full replacement. Fixed Right quote was average with the others but it was the knowledge and time spent with us that helped make the decision. The install was quick and organized and done in half a day. We had a great experience with Fixed Right and Guaranteed. The company installed two HVAC systems for our large old house, and with the size of the project they were onsite for several weeks. They did great work and kept us informed the entire time, but most of all they were super friendly and considerate. They made friends with our dogs, who were excited to see them every morning; they would call us in the mornings to let us know where they were on the way, and check if we wanted anything from Wawa when they stopped for coffee; and at the end they ran us through the operation of our new systems in detail, explaining both how to use them and how to get the best performance possible. One night, my AC started making a horrible noise, and I ignorantly ignored it thinking that it was just because of the cold. The next day, when I got home from work, the noise had gotten worse and my house began to smell like nothing I could exactly explain. I called Roy at 8:45pm thinking he probably wouldn't answer because it was so late. Not only did he answer, but he completed the last minute repair job the next day! I had to work (I'm a teacher), so he sent me videos explaining everything that was wrong and what he'd be doing to fix it. I can't thank him enough for his quick repair job and excellent customer service! Four technicians from this company came to my home in DC to install a ductless mini split air conditioning system. They were competent and efficient, and they worked together very well as a team. At one point they had to solve a wiring challenge, and they did so beautifully. They did the entire job in two days. And they were very nice people, too! I was very impressed! read more
