Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I have been a customer of this pool company for approximately two years and have spent thousands of dollars with them. Unfortunately, my recent experience with the owner, Clarence, was extremely disappointing and upsetting. I recently experienced a sudden death in my family and had to leave town for approximately six weeks. Before leaving, I emailed the company to explain the situation and let them know that I would contact them when I returned to take care of the remaining balance for this year's service. Instead of responding to my email or simply communicating with me about the account, Clarence called me and yelled at me and accused me of taking advantage of the company, claiming that I had outstanding balances from last year. The problem is that the receipts I have received from the company show that those previous services were paid in full / no balance owed. I was never contacted by their office and told that I had an outstanding balance from last year. In fact, I continued using their services this year and was never informed that I supposedly owed anything from the previous year. During the phone call, Clarence initially hadn't even read my email. When I pointed that out, he then read the email to me over the phone, yet still showed no empathy whatsoever regarding the death in my family and continued yelling at me and accusing me of taking advantage of his business. After being a loyal customer for two years and spending thousands of dollars with this company, I expected basic professionalism, communication, and compassion--especially under the circumstances. If there was genuinely a balance that I owed, the appropriate way to handle it would have been to provide me with a clear statement showing what was owed, when it was incurred, and why I was never previously notified, rather than calling me and yelling at me. I am extremely disappointed not only by the alleged billing discrepancy, but more so by the way I was treated as a customer. Customers deserve to be spoken to with respect, and difficult circumstances should be handled with professionalism and basic human compassion.
