If you come after hours or don't want credit, they have donation bins where you can place your items. During the day (closed on Sundays), you can drive up to a covered drop off spot and employees will help you unload your items. They also will give you a receipt, which you can use for tax purposes ("charitable donation"). Done! As for the store itself, it's massive. It can be a bit dirty and disorganized. It's overflowing with clothes of all sizes/styles. They also have some home furnishings, books, shoes, etc. I can imagine that it's hard to keep up with. The prices seem fine to me, but then again, I very rarely thrift shop. I do have a sweater from here that I love, that I specifically remember getting for $1.50. I called the Apple store 25 miles away to make an appointment, but the phone was never answered. Rather than make a day-trip to Akron without an appointment, I checked for repair sites closer to home. Hallelujah, a big box store here in town could do it, and I made an appointment on-line for the next day. I was welcomed at the appointed time but then learned I'd have to leave the phone for 24-48 hours and would be called when the phone was ready for pick up. I asked how they would reach me since they would have my phone. Leave my phone for two days?? Uh, no thank you. Three, now four, hours ago a friend told me about Experimac and her intent to visit the store regarding her Mac laptop. Experimac, "an Apple product specialist, buys, sells, trades, repairs and upgrades all Apple devices from iPhones and iPads to MacBooks and MacBook Pros." I called and was told Experimac could replace the iPhone battery, would not require an appointment, would take about 20 minutes and could be done today. Here I am, an hour later, back home, iPhone battery replaced, and writing a review praising Canton's Experimac to the moon and back! Such a pleasant experience! My husband and I were on a road trip from Cleveland (we'd just seen a Maroon 5 concert) on our way home to West Virginia when we stumbled upon the Goodwill Outlet in Canton, Ohio. I'm so glad we did--it was such a fun experience! Walking into the outlet as total blue-bin newbies, we had no idea how to "shop." Clothes aren't sorted by size or color, there are no racks or signs, just bins filled with everything from kids' clothes and jackets to blankets, toys, pots and pans, electronics, and shoes--all completely mixed together. Not even five minutes into checking my first bin, an announcement came over the speaker: "Bins are being rotated. Please stand by the cashier line. No shopping while bins are being switched out!" We watched as employees rolled bins into a back room with swinging doors while a fresh batch of bins was rolled out. Once the rotation was complete, the announcer gave the signal: "You may shop now." And chaos ensued. Shoppers of all ages--men, women, even college students--raced to the new bins. My husband and I just stood there soaking in the frenzy. There were older guys checking toys and scanning SKUs online, college kids digging through sweaters and long-sleeve shirts, and just a lot of excited energy all around. The bins rotate every 30 minutes, so if you don't find anything you like, just wait for the next round. The best part? Items aren't individually priced--you pay by weight. At $1.89 per pound, we walked out with a fantastic haul for just $16: a fun ugly Christmas sweater, two branded jackets, a handful of T-shirts, and three long-sleeve shirts. The Goodwill Outlet is definitely worth a stop for an hour or two. Next time, I'll bring gloves and a few eco bags!
